A major development has emerged in the Amravati obscene video case involving Ayan Ahmed Tanveer, where hundreds of girls, including minors, were targeted and filmed. While over 100 obscene videos had already gone viral, police have now made a second arrest in the case that could explain how the content spread so rapidly. According to the investigators, over 350 videos have been recovered from the prime accused’s device and a probe into possible accomplices is under way. The arrest of Ujer Khan Iqbal Khan has now added a crucial link to the chain of events.
Ujer’s role in making videos viral
According to media reports, the police have arrested Ujer Khan Iqbal Khan, identified as Ayan’s associate. He has been accused of playing a key role in circulating the obscene videos. Officials have said that Ujer downloaded objectionable content from Ayan’s mobile and shared it widely on social media platforms. Around 100 videos were circulated, which significantly amplified the reach and impact of the crime.
In a statement, Amravati Rural SP Vishal Anand Singuri confirmed that the police are closely examining the extent of Ujer’s involvement and how the videos were shared. He stated that authorities are monitoring individuals who have downloaded and recirculated the content. Ujer has been produced before the court and police are expected to seek custody to further investigate if more individuals were involved in distributing the videos or aiding the accused.
What happened and political links
The case revolves around the allegations that Ayan Ahmed Tanveer befriended minor girls through social media. He gained their trust and lured them into relationships before sexually exploiting them. Police added that the acts were recorded without consent and later used for intimidation and blackmail. Police are trying to identify the victims in the videos and have urged the public to come forward and file a complaint if any of them are victims in the case.
The matter has also taken a political turn as BJP has stated that Ayan was associated with Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM party. However, an AIMIM representative has claimed that Ayan is no longer associated.
