Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a part of the Adani conglomerate, has secured a prestigious global recognition for two of its airports, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and Terminal 2 of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), Guwahati. Both these airports have been featured in the Prix Versailles World’s Most Beautiful Airports 2026 list.
The Prix Versailles awards are an annual award presented at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, celebrating exceptional architecture in airport designs that blend innovation, sustainability, cultural identity, and superior passenger experience. NMIA’s Terminal 1 has been lauded for its distinctive lotus-inspired architecture, futuristic design, and seamless integration of technology, art, and functionality while keeping the passenger experience a priority.
The unique Terminal 2 of the Guwahati airport draws inspiration from the region’s biodiversity through its ‘Bamboo Orchid’ design, creating a sustainable and beautiful tribute to Assam’s natural heritage.
Other airports on the 2026 list include those in Guangzhou (China), Frankfurt (Germany), Pittsburgh and San Diego (USA), and Kandal Stueng (Cambodia). Three airports from the list will later receive the top World Title awards.
AAHL has stated in a press release that the recognition strengthens its commitment to building next-generation aviation infrastructure that drives economic growth, tourism, and regional development while setting new benchmarks in sustainable and culturally resonant airport designs in India.
