Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress no longer rules West Bengal, but the dark memories linked to the barbaric rule of the woman-led party continue to haunt the people of the state who lived them. A video of the Organiser speaking to several women who suffered unspeakable atrocities committed by TMC goons has been going viral on social media.
In the video, victims tell the Organiser correspondent how the TMC goons unleashed horror on people of West Bengal on May 2, 2026, before the results of the Assembly elections 2026 were announced. One of the victims said that TMC goons brutally beat up her father in one room and raped her in another room in her house. “…my father was being beaten up in the other room. I could hear that my father was being beaten up. My father knew that my daughter was being raped,” said the victim, recalling the nightmare.
Another victim who was raped by TMC goons said that all the culprits were Muslims and identified them as Phulur’s son, Jalur’s son, Hidayi Sheikh’s son, and Bachai Sheikh. She said that the TMC goons shouted the slogans of ‘Joy Bangla’, which is the TMC’s slogan, while they raped her.

Narrating her story, another rape victim said that the police refused to register her complaint as the culprits were TMC goons and said that she was levelling false allegations. “I was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state. I did not receive proper medical treatment at the hospital, and my parents kept crying, looking at my condition,” the victim said. She said that she could not identify the rapists except one, Khala Papori Kajal Sheikh, who, according to her, was the main person behind the act.
Another woman said that TMC goons threatened her as she was leaving her house around 2 pm on 2nd May, saying, “We will come to your house. We will rip you apart. “They dragged me by my hair and threw me in the courtyard. They beat me brutally with rods. They kicked and punched me in my chest, stomach and back. Three of them raped me while the rest kept physically assaulting me,” the victim recalled. She said that the brutal assault left her hip joint broken.
West Bengal has countless such stories of post-poll violence committed by TMC goons on innocent people of the state. In the TMC’s rule spanning over a decade, hundreds of BJP workers have been brutally attacked and killed in post-poll violence. Women have been violated and raped, and families have been forced to migrate to other states for their safety.
