Amid the so-called students’ protest at Jantar Mantar, National Conference MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi whines about the abrogation of Article 370

The ongoing protest of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which started on the pretext of raising the issue of NEET exam paper leak and students’ concerns, is now revealing its true political colours as it is receiving open support of several opposition parties and leaders.

Recently, J&K National Conference MP from Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, reached the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in the name of supporting students.

Hon’ble MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi visited Jantar Mantar today to meet the students on an indefinite hunger strike, listen to their concerns, and express his solidarity with their democratic struggle.

However, he was seen raising the issue of the abrogation of Article 370 in the garb of expressing solidarity with the country’s students. Mehdi drew a comparison between students and the people of Jammu & Kashmir and claimed their constitutional rights were violated by the Indian government alike. “Kashmir has lived through this for years. Today, the same is happening to you. This chain must break. A democracy can only thrive when citizens are heard, not silenced,” a message posted by Mehdi’s official handle on X stated.

Addressing the protestors at Jantar Mantar, Mehdi claimed that the Indian government snatched what he described as a “constitutional guarantee” by abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution. Ironically, speaking at the protest site in the national capital, Mehdi alleged that Jammu& Kashmir is discriminated against by the Indian government and that the people of Kashmir are not allowed the freedom of speech.

He urged the protestors to support the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, who, according to him, are not being treated equally and at par with the youth of the rest of the country by the government. He asked the protestors to raise the issue of the freedom of the youth of Jammu & Kashmir before the government.
