CJP supporters breach barricades and attack Delhi police with stones, cops respond with lathi-charge

Supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party unleashed violence on Monday (20th July) under the garb of a peaceful march to the Union Parliament.

The incident occurred near Kerala Bhawan, where the ‘protestors’ breached police barricades and resorted to stone pelting. Soon after, the Rapid Action Force (RAF) carried out 2 rounds of lathi-charge to bring the law and order situation under control.

Reportedly, supporters of the CJP ran towards the barricades and tried to push through the security cordon. The Delhi police had made it clear that no permission had been given for the Parliament march.

To prevent any untoward incident, Section 163 of the BNSS was imposed. A large number of security personnel were deployed in view of the monsoon session of the Parliament.
