The CEO and founder of iThrive, Mugdha Pradhan, has taken the internet by storm, but in the good way one would imagine. A video of Pradhan against Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going viral on social media. While criticism of any politician would always be welcome, in this particular video, Pradhan seems to have crossed the red line to be crass and abusive against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Mugdha Pradhan, who works in the field of functional nutrition and holds a master’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition, says that if she meets PM Modi, she would “slap him”. It is worth mentioning that Mugdha Pradhan appears to support the violent protests that took place at Jantar Mantar, and she gets angry over action against those using abusive language. Mugdha Pradhan can also be seen talking about several other issues in the video. After the video went viral, netizens also expressed their anger against Mugdha Pradhan for her crass, abusive language.

In the video, Mugdha Pradhan says, “And I want to fucking slap all these fucking old men who think it is within their entitled right to suppress the anger of women and children. Just look at what people are getting away with. You think gaalis are dirty, look at the streets of this country that you are supposed to lead. I went for a walk in nature, and there were heaps of garbage under a tree. Why can’t you clean that shit up? Why can’t you see that dirt? Your minds are only so dirty, you idiots.”

She further says, “Someone is finally calling you the word you deserve and that is why its triggering you so much. You, being the PM of the country and sitting and making reels saying you are forgiving? One forgiving slap I will give you if I meet you, fucking old men who should not be there. Get out. Get out of my country, get out of the role you are in and its time that the younger ones took on the mantle”.

Hilariously, Mugdha Pradhan, who is age shaming and abusing the Prime Minister, is 45 years old.

Mugdha Pradhan had earlier also released a video where she was seen abusing the Prime Minister with expletives and defending the “yound people” who were “just expressing their feelings” by abusing him.

Who is Mugdha Pradhan, who wants to slap PM Modi?

Mugdha Pradhan is a Pune-based functional nutritionist. She works in the health and wellness sector. Mugdha Pradhan started a company called iThrive. Today, she is also the CEO of the company. iThrive works in the fields of health, nutrition and wellness. The company says it follows a functional nutrition approach to address people’s health problems.

Instead of focusing only on the symptoms of a disease, it attempts to understand the underlying causes. However, looking at Mugdha’s video, it appears that she herself needs treatment.

According to the iThrive website, Mugdha Pradhan holds an MSc in Food Science and Nutrition. She completed her master’s degree in 2001. After this, she also worked in the corporate sector. She was part of the early HR team at Flipkart. Later, she began working in the field of health and nutrition.

Mugdha Pradhan’s profile describes her as a two-time TEDx speaker. She is also the author of a book called ‘Health, Inc.’ According to the company’s website, the book is based on the global healthcare system and how it works.

Netizens lash out at Mugdha Pradhan over her comments on PM Modi

After the video went viral, social media users questioned Mugdha Pradhan and the language she has used against the Prime Minister.

Some users said that the public behaviour of the head of a health and wellness company can affect the company’s image. In some posts, people asked whether they would want to buy products from a company whose CEO uses such language.

One user wrote, “The CEO of iThrive is busy abusing PM Modi. It seems she herself needs better supplements. It is worth thinking about what it says about the understanding and credibility of a brand when its top official publicly displays so much hatred and lack of restraint.”

Abhijeet Majumdar wrote, “Looking at Mugdha Pradhan, who is using abusive language for PM Modi, it seems that she is in great need of mental health assistance. She appears very disturbed and unstable. Can anyone trust her brand and its products?”

Rakesh Krishnan Sinha wrote, “Meet another hypocrite. Mugdha Pradhan, CEO and founder of health and wellness company iThrive, is abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the protests taking place at Jantar Mantar. Looking at this foul-mouthed woman, it seems as if she was born in a gutter. All these fake people are very frustrated because of FCRA. Because of accountability laws like FCRA, their dreams of talking nonsense and cheating innocent people are becoming difficult to fulfill. Look at her speech, her uncontrolled, frustrated ranting and what is written on her website everything is completely opposite to each other. ‘Sat-Chit-Ananda’ went flat within just a few seconds.”

One user also made an allegation regarding funding, claiming, “This woman from iThrive received investment from Hong Kong-based Fung Strategic Investments. That is why she is using abusive language against our respected Prime Minister. It seems that she is an ‘asset’ of China. Please take appropriate legal action.”

iThrive CEO Mugdha Pradhan’s company receives money from a Hong Kong-based firm called ‘Fung Strategic Investments’. It is the private family investment office of Hong Kong’s wealthy Fung family, which works for their large Fung Group. According to the iThrive website, some individuals have invested money in Pune-based health startup iThrive. Their names include Rajesh Runawat, executive director of Fung Strategic Investments, and Nilesh Bhatnagar, managing director of NB Ventures. Rajesh Runawat invested in the company as a private investor.

The CJP protest, abuses and PM’s forgiveness

The CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, which drew large numbers of young people, was held over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, including the NEET paper leak, and demands for accountability from the government. However, the protest was soon hijacked by leftist activists and so-called Gen Z youths who displayed abusive and derogatory posters and made such comments. A large number of videos went viral where such Gen Z CJP protesters could be heard using extremely vulgar and abusive language directed not only at Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also at other Union ministers at Jantar Mantar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was subjected to vile abuses and extremely offensive and derogatory language by protesters at the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protests at Jantar Mantar, forgave them. PM Modi posted a video message on Instagram on 31st July expressing concern over the filthy slurs hurled by the protesters at him and his late mother. However, he said that he gives “the misguided children” and urged people to guide them on the right path.

“What happened in Jantar Mantar, the country and the world witnessed it. Some mischievous children used abusive language that doesn’t dignify any civilised society. They not only abused me but even my late mother,” PM Modi said. 

He added that kind of expletives uttered by the young protesters, particularly girls, gave a cultural shock to the entire society. “I understand the anger in our society. There is a cultural shock about our daughters using such language,” the Prime Minister said.

“Sometimes our tongue comes under our teeth and blood comes out, but we do not break our teeth—because the teeth are ours, and the tongue is ours too. The children are also ours,” he said.

However, he forgave the protesters, saying that those were young people who should be given a chance to learn from their mistakes. He also appealed to the society at large to forgive them and give them an opportunity to learn from their mistakes. “This is the time to hug them and show them the right path…I want to forgive them,” he said.

“These are misguided children, and showing them the way is our duty; we will not be able to change circumstances by punishing them, making them run around the courts, or harassing them in society,” he added. “Children, come, let us move forward together for the country. Let us learn something new, let us learn even from mistakes… I live for you, I toil for your bright future, so come, let us together take the country forward,” PM Modi said, concluding his message.
