Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)‘s media coverage coordinator, Soni, recently posted a video accusing anti-Modi social media influencer Harsh Yadav of being involved in an incident of sexual assault on a woman during the CJP-led protests in Delhi. Soni posted the video on her Instagram, showing Harsh Yadav, who is known for making propaganda videos against the Modi government, running away as a woman confronts him.
In the video, Soni says that she is going to expose Harsh Yadav because he made a video criticising the recent school inspections by CJP leaders in several states, including Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Punjab.
The video shot at night outside the CJP protest site at Jantar Mantar shows Harsh Yadav holding a paper cup in his hand and running away from the camera, hiding his face as the woman chases and confronts him. The woman is heard saying that Yadav defamed the CJP and the protest, alleging that he was ousted from the CJP, and therefore he refused to cover the protest.
She further said that Harsh Yadav was involved in an incident of sexual assault on a young woman of 18 years during the protests. The visuals from the video show Harsh Yadav hiding behind giant garbage bins to avoid the camera.
The video is released by Soni after Harsh Yadav, who makes videos attacking the Modi government, made a video targeting CJP’s recent school inspection across different states. In the video, Harsh Yadav said that CJP receives funds from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and that all its zonal heads have been zonal heads of the same zones under the AAP in the past. He also said that CJP school inspections are an election gimmick to benefit the AAP in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
Yadav added that the CJP leader Sourav Das recently conducted an inspection of a school of eminence in Punjab, while in other non-AAP-ruled states like Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, CJP leaders visited small schools located in backward areas. Yadav said that this was done as part of CJP’s strategy to suggest that schools in AAP-ruled Punjab are so much better than schools in other states. According to him, the move was aimed at showing AAP in a good light ahead of the state assembly elections.
Harsh Yadav’s video was widely shared on social media and led to Soni sharing the video to attack his credibility. Notably, Harsh Yadav’s Instagram page is full of videos attacking Prime Minister Modi and the BJP government. He was also associated with the recent CJP-led protest against the NEET exam paper leak, which led to the resignation of the Union Education Minister. However, it was after his apparent fallout from the CJP that the party’s office bearer Soni released the video levelling a serious allegation against him.
This raises the question as to why Soni did not inform the police when she was aware of the alleged crime and had evidence to prove it.
