Bomb threats from Khalistani elements targeting Hindu religious sites in Ayodhya, Mathura, and Varanasi have put security forces on high alert ahead of the Diwali festival. An email was received by Parama Academy, an ICSE-affiliated school in Ayodhya, from a Khalistani terror outfit named ‘Khalistan National Army’ threatening to attack between November 8 and 27, 2026.
The email was reportedly sent by three individuals associated with the Khalistani terror group, identified as engineer Gurunakh Singh, Raunak Shahwala, and Dr Gurunirvar Singh Khanrajada. The same email was also sent to Radiant College and Navdeep College in Ambedkar Nagar.
After receiving the email, the school management alerted the police. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) initiated an investigation into the threats to ascertain the source of the email.
The police have ramped up security around religious sites in Ayodhya, Mathura, and Varanasi. Police personnel, dog squads, and commandos have been deployed, and extensive search operations have been launched near temples in the three cities.
