Taking potshots at Delhi Chief Minister and party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas in an interview with Prabhat Khabar, Vishwas said, “just because I oppose (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) doesn’t mean I will go and hug Lalu Prasad Yadav. Lalu has encouraged corruption and dynasty politics.”
It’s worth recalling that during the 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections, anti-corruption crusader and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal had not only shared stage with Lalu, but was also seen hugging him.
In the interview, he further added that Aam Aadmi Party is also becoming like Congress, in terms of “nepotism and kitchen cabinet”. He added, “I will not let AAP become another Congress. People had chosen us as an alternative, not an opposition. Will make donation details public, end nepotism, and not have a ‘supremo culture’.”
This again seems like a dig at Kejriwal, who has mysteriously removed the details of donation money from the website and has been known for sacking ministers who do not toe the line. “If AAP also starts adopting ‘supremo culture’, then I would be very unhappy”, Vishwas said taking a jibe at Kejriwal.
On being asked how is AAP becoming Congress-ified, Vishwas made a snide remark and said, “Our 67 MLAs were elected (in Delhi) and it is our responsibility to imbibe our culture and value in them.”
Usually quick to react to everything that relates to Aam Aadmi Party, Kejriwal has maintained mysterious silence over the Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti, AAP’s student wing, winning 50 seats in Rajasthan Students’ Union Elections which were held recently. This just shows that all is not well between the two leaders.
