Karnataka: Mosque-like domes disappear overnight from bus stop in Mysuru, after protest by BJP MP Pratap Simha and NHAI notice

Two controversial domes built over a bus stop in Mysuru, Karnataka, disappeared overnight on Sunday. After BJP MP Pratap Simha warned to take immediate action if the domes were not taken down, the structures were removed. Simha had declared that the two domed structures built atop the bus station, which surround a larger central dome, resembled mosques and had set a deadline for removing them.

Now the two smaller domes have been removed, and only the bigger dome at the centre remains. After the domes disappeared from the bus stop, Pratam Simha took to Twitter and wrote, “If there is a big dome in the middle and two smaller domes next to each other, it is a mosque. Thanks to the District Collector who asked for time and kept his word and to Ramdas ji who understood the reality and bowed to the referendum.”

Earlier on 15 November, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) served a notice on the Mysore city corporation, requesting that the dome-structured bus shelter in Karnataka’s Mysore be removed. The NHAI allowed the local council one week to remove the structures.

In a letter to MCC and Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) dated November 15, the NHAI project director stated, “Since it has developed communal issues as per the National Highway Administration Act this may be treated as notice otherwise as per the Highway Administration Act 2003, action will be initiated.”

Since Simha threatened to demolish the dome-like structure outside JSS College on Ooty Road on Monday, the bus stop has been a source of friction between Simha, the Mysuru-Kodagu MP, and BJP MLA S A Ramdas. According to Ramdas, the bus stop was not built following religious lines but was modelled after the Mysuru Palace and is situated in the Krishnaraja Vishan Sabha constituency, which is one of his electoral boundaries.

On Thursday, Simha stuck to his stance while MLA Ramdas said he was being singled out and pressured into quitting the party. He continued by saying that he had apprised Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister, on the matter. Ramdas held a meeting with CM Bommai, according to CM Bommai, who also said he had asked an expert committee to look into the situation.

Suvendu Adhikari challenges Mamata Banerjee over CAA implementation, says ‘stop it if you have guts’

On Saturday, November 26, Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will definitely be rolled out in the state. Adhikari also dared Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to stop its implementation if she can.

While addressing a public meeting in Thakurnagar in North 24 Parganas district, an area dominated by the Matua community who have their roots in Bangladesh, Adhikari asserted that residents who have valid documents will not lose their citizenship. He also assured the Matua community members that they will be granted Indian citizenship.

“The CAA does not imply that anyone’s citizenship will be withdrawn if they are a bonafide resident with legal documents,” Adhikari said.

In an indirect reference to CM Mamata Banerjee, Suvendu Adhikari said, “We’ve talked about the CAA several times. It will be implemented throughout the state. Stop it from being enacted if you have the guts to do so.”

The Nandigram MLA reiterated how the Narendra Modi government has kept one of its promises by abrogating Article 370 in Kashmir. “Similarly, the PM Modi-led BJP government will also fulfill its promise of implementing the CAA. There is no plan to take away anyone’s rights. PM Modi does not believe in divisive politics,” Adhikari added.

The BJP leader shared a video of his address to the crowd and tweeted, “Addressed the Matua Community at Thakurnagar; North 24-Parganas District and assured them about the Central government’s commitment regarding the implementation of the CAA.”

Shantanu Thakur, Union Minister, and BJP MP from Bongaon, also stated that the CAA will be a reality in West Bengal, and the Narendra Modi government is committed to achieving the goal.

About the Matua community

The Matua community in the state is divided into two factions, the BJP and the TMC. Members of the community, who constitute a sizable proportion of the state’s Scheduled Caste population, have been migrating to West Bengal since the 1950s, primarily due to religious persecution in Bangladesh.

The estimated 30 lakh Matuas living in the state have sway over at least five Lok Sabha seats and nearly 50 assembly seats in the districts of Nadia, North, and South 24 Parganas.

Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the CAA has already been approved by the government and that individuals should stop fantasizing about the law being repealed or not being enforced. Shah at the Times Now Summit in New Delhi reminded that the CAA, the legislation that sparked widespread demonstrations and rioting, has not been placed in a cold freezer.

On delay in enforcement, Shah stated that the COVID-19 pandemic-triggered lockdowns had driven the process of CAA rollout back, but the remaining formalities would be completed soon. The home minister also stated that the NRC is also still on the government’s agenda.

Protests against Covid restrictions spread in China following the Urumqi fire disaster, protestors demand Xi Jinping’s ouster

Protests against Covid restrictions in China, which started in Xinjiang province in the west following the Urumqi fire disaster that killed 10 people, have now spread across China.

On Thursday, 24th November 2022, a building in Urumqi in Xinjiang caught fire. People could not easily escape the inferno because of the strict lockdown that has been imposed as part of China’s zero-Covid policy. The tragedy sparked angry protests in Urumqi, and now those protests have spread to other major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Lanzhou, along with universities across the country.

Although there has been growing popular opposition to Beijing’s zero-Covid policy, large-scale, confrontational demonstrations are uncommon in China. However, this time, angry protestors are facing off against the police shouting slogans against Chinese president Xi Jinping and the Communist Party.

Videos widely circulated on Chinese social media show hundreds of people in downtown Shanghai shouting “Step down, Xi Jinping! Step down, Communist Party”. The gathered crowd held a candlelight vigil as well in memory of the victims of the Urumqi fire. They also held blank sheets of white paper, as part of a symbolic protest against the oppressive policies of the Chinese regime.

Shanghai was not the only place to see protests against the strict covid lockdowns, protests also broke out in the capital city of Beijing.

Students at the prestigious Peking University in Beijing held a protest shouting slogans demanding the end of lockdowns and implored the government to look at the rest of the world moving on from Covid.

In the city of Lanzhou, protestors destroyed the PCR testing booths set up by the authorities as the anger against the zero-covid policy spilled over.

With the rest of the world moving back to normalcy after Covid, anger against China’s strict restrictions has been growing in the country. During the broadcast of the ongoing FIFA World Cup, visuals of thousands of fans mingling without any masks or restrictions have also sparked anger among the Chinese. Many Chinese citizens were left asking if Qatar is on another planet where they can move around without any restrictions there while we have to live in lockdowns.

A Delhi-based YouTuber couple was arrested for allegedly extorting more than Rs 80 lakh from a businessman after honey-trapping him and threatening to implicate him in a false rape case, the police informed.

The victim is the owner of an advertising agency and filed a complaint against the couple in August. However, the couple applied to the court for interim bail. Their interim bail was recently dismissed, and after that, an FIR was filed against them at Sector 50 police station earlier this week.

According to the victim, a resident of Gurugram’s Badshahpur, he came in contact with a woman named Namra Qadir, a resident of Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh. They met at Hotel Radisson on Sohna Road in Gurugram where they discussed making an advertisement for his company.

The complainant stated that during their meeting, a person named Virat alias Manish Beniwal accompanied Qadir. They asked Rs 2.50 for making the advertisement, and accordingly the complainant made the payment. After few days, she demanded Rs 50,000 more, and he transferred that amount to her account.

But when he asked her for the output of the job, she proposed to him for marriage instead, expressing her liking for him. According to the police, the businessman later became friends with the couple and spent nights with Namra Qadir and Virat. During this time, the couple began recording their private moments, which they used to blackmail the businessman.

The businessman said that in August this year, he along with Namra Qadir and Manish went to a club for partying, and booked a room there late at night. When he woke up in the morning, Virat alias Manish Beniwal asked him to hand over his bank cards and the iWatch he was wearing. Manish pointed a weapon at the man, saying that he is the husband of Qadir, and threatened that if he does not pay them money they will implicate him in a false rape case.

According to the complainant, Namra Qadir and Manish extorted more than Rs 80 lakh in cash and other expensive items from him using that threat. The matter came to light after he borrowed Rs5 lakh form his father to give to the couple. When he withdrew Rs5 lakh from his father’s bank account, his father asked why he needed the money. He didn’t hide the matter and narrated everything to his father. After that, his father took him to the police station to lodge a complaint.

The police said that they had served the couple with a notice on October 10, but they had applied for interim bail in Gurugram. The interim bail was rejected on November 18, after which an FIR was registered against them.

On Thursday,  Sector 50 police station SHO Rajesh Kumar said that the youtube couple were booked under sections 388 (extortion by putting any person in fear), 328 (causing hurt by mean of poison), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). SHO Kumar informed that raids are being conducted and the accused will be arrested soon.

Second case in a week of vlogger couple blackmailing and extorting money

This is the second case of bloggers extorting people that has emerged in a week. Just a couple of days ago, a vlogger couple Nishad and Rashida were arrested in Kerala for extorting Rs 23 lakh from a 68-year-old businessman. The couple is active on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, and Rashida the businessman on Facebook in July 2021. She began to chat with him on the social media platform. There, they became intimate, after she convinced him by saying that her husband knows everything and he has given consent for it. She had put up secret cameras with the help of her husband, and their acts were recorded on camera.

Using these visuals, the couple started to blackmail the businessman and extorted money from him. They extorted money from him in instalments, and the was forced to borrow money from others to pay them. But when his family members asked him about his changed behaviour and missing money, he eventually revealed everything. After that that his family members lodged a complaint with the police. By that time, the man had paid Rs 23 lakh to them. Nishad has been sent to jail, while Rashida was granted bail as she is the mother of two infants.

Luxury in Tihar: Unidentified men seen cleaning the prison cell of Satyendar Jain, preparing his bed, watch video

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain is under the spotlight over the special treatment meted out to him in Tihar Jail. Much to the embarrassment of the party, several CCTV videos have surfaced on social media showing Jain’s luxurious experience in his prison cell despite the party’s denials of special treatment.

In a new CCTV footage, unidentified individuals were seen cleaning the room of the AAP Minister. A man, dressed in black, was spotted sweeping the floor with a wet rag while another man was seen arranging the pillows on the bed.

Satyendar Jain was also seen interacting with the now-suspended Tihar jail superintendent Ajit Kumar while he lay comfortably on his bed. He was also spotted talking with 4-5 unidentified men.

While reacting strongly to the development, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla tweeted, “After Tihar’s AAP Ka Darbar now Room service in Tihar! 8-10 people providing housekeeping & VVIP services to Satyendra Jain who also enjoyed maalish by child rapist , TV, mineral water, fruits, dry fruits, Nawabi meal, personal visit by jail superintendent! What is going on?”

On November 19, a video went viral on social media showing VIP treatment being meted out to Jain. Jain was seen receiving foot and head massages. In a bizarre defence of Jain getting a foot massage, Manish Sisodia claimed that Jain was taking physiotherapy for a ‘spine injury.’

Later on, it was revealed that the masseur of jailed Delhi Minister Satyendra Jain whose videos of getting massages went viral has been identified as one rape accused named Rinku, and not a physiotherapist.

The masseur providing massage to Satyendar Jain is a prisoner Rinku. He’s a prisoner in a rape case, charged under Section 6 of the POCSO Act & 376, 506 & 509 of IPC.

Qatar 2022: Iran’s coach Carlos Queiroz demands Jurgen Klinsmann’s resignation following his comments on Iran’s team

0

On November 27, the National football coach of Iran, Carlos Queiroz, demanded the resignation of Jurgen Klinsmann from his position as a member of Qatar 2022 Technical Study Group after his unsavoury comments about Iran’s culture. Klinsmann made his comments after Iran’s match with Wales, which Iran went on to win 2-0 pushing the Welsh side to the brink of elimination from the World Cup. During a post-match discussion on the BBC, Klinsmann said fouls and confronting officials are “in the culture of Iran”.

Klinsmann said, “That’s their culture, that’s their way of doing it. That’s why Carlos Queiroz fits really well with the Iranian national team. He struggled in South America, failed to qualify with Colombia then failed to qualify with Egypt as well. Just before the World Cup, he went back and guided Iran where he worked for a long time.”

The former German striker who has managed teams in a World Cup twice, Germany in 2006 and USA in 2014, added, “This is not by coincidence, it is all purposely. It is part of their culture, and how they play it, they worked the referee perfectly. The bench was always jumping up and working the linesman and the fourth official on the sideline. They’re constantly in your ear and your face. Keiffer Moore (the Welsh striker) will probably tell you some stories after this game, he had a lot of little incidents out there that we didn’t see.”

Klinsmann further said, “This is their culture, they kind of make you lose your focus and concentration, what’s really important to you.”

The remarks did not go well with the Iranian coach Queiroz, who responded to Klinsmann’s comments with a series of tweets and demanded his resignation from FIFA’s technical study group. Notably, Klinsmann is one of the seven experts, including former players and coaches headed by the former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Their job is to provide analytical reports of every single World Cup game for the governing body.

Calling Klinsmann’s comments a ‘disgrace to football’, Queiroz said, “Dear Jurgen; You took the initiative to call me Carlos, so I believe it is proper to call you Jurgen. Right? Even not knowing me personally, you question my character with a typical prejudiced judgment of superiority.”

He added, “No matter how much I can respect what you did inside the pitch, those remarks about Iran Culture, Iran National Team and my Players are a disgrace to Football. Nobody can hurt our integrity if it is not at our level, of course.”

Queiroz, who coached Iran from 2011 to 2019 before returning in 2022, further said, “Even saying so, we would like to invite you as our guest, to come to our National Team Camp, socialize with Iran players and learn from them about the Country, the people of Iran, the poets and art, the algebra, all the millennial Persian culture.”

He added, “And also listen from our players how much they love and respect Football. As American/German, we understand your no support. No problem. And despite your outrageous remarks on BBC trying to undermine our efforts, sacrifices and skills, we promise you that we will not produce any judgments regarding your culture, roots and background and that you will always be welcome to our Family.”

Furthermore, he said, “At the same time, we just want to follow with full attention what will be the decision of FIFA regarding your position as a member of Qatar 2022 Technical Study Group. Because, obviously, we expect you to resign before you visit our camp. Carlos.”

Klinsmann tried to explain his comments later and said he was misunderstood. In a BBC newsletter, he said, “Yesterday, I said how excited and involved Iran were as a collective – fans, bench, manager, players – in their game. Some felt I was saying they’d influenced officials, others felt I was saying there were doing something wrong. I wasn’t at all – I was simply pointing to how they show their emotions in this World Cup, we all do in different ways.”

With the qualification for the next round on the line, Iran face the United States on November 29 (Tuesday), in a match that is expected to get very tense on and off the pitch.

Pakistan: Pashtun leader stopped from travelling abroad, held at Islamabad airport on behest of Army ‘establishment’

On Sunday (November 27), prominent Pashtun leader Mohsin Dawar informed that he was stopped from travelling abroad allegedly at the direction of the Pakistani army establishment.

The co-founder of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) pointed out that the incident took place despite clearance from the Ministry of Interior of the Government of Pakistan. In a tweet, he wrote, “I was stopped at Islamabad airport by FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) & prevented from travelling to Tajikistan to attend Herat Security Dialogue.”

“This is outrageous as the cabinet had removed my name from ECL for 2 months. Once again Neutral Havaldar demonstrates that he has more authority than the federal govt,” Mohsin Dawar hinted at the high-handedness of the Pakistani establishment.

It must be mentioned that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Exit Control Lists (ECL) are both controlled by the Ministry of Interior of the Pakistani government. The Pashtun leader also posted a copy of the Ministry’s memorandum dating back to October 17, 2022, to back his allegations.

“It has been decided by the Federal Government to allow Multiple Time permission to Mohsin Javed @Mohsin Dawar…to travel abroad to attend conference at Switzerland for a period of 60 days from the date of the first departure, vide Cabinet Decision No. 474/Rule-19/2022 dated 14.10.2022,” it read.

The memorandum was signed by Section Officer Muhammad Azeem Akthar. Mohsin Dawar also lashed out at the Punjabi-dominated Pakistani military of intimidating a Pashtun leader.

“Only a few days ago, Pak civil society was celebrating Bajwa’s speech in which he accepted the military’s interference in politics and announced a non-interference policy in this politics. Is this “neutrality” and “non-interference” a privilege limited to Punjab only?” he asked.

It must be mentioned that Mohsin Dawar is a legislator from the NA-48 constituency of Pakistan since 2018 and represents the National Democratic Movement (NDM).

He tweeted, “Stopping an elected representative of thousands of Pashtuns, from travelling to become part of a regional dialogue is a testimony to the fact that in the coming years Pashtuns will continue to become victims of military establishment policies protecting their corporate interests.”

Mohsin Dawar accused Pakistanis of hurling racist slurs at Afghans

Earlier, the Pashtun leader had lashed out at Pakistanis for making racist remarks against the Afghan community and blamed the former for the clash that ensued between the two sides, following a cricket match in the Asia Cup.

“Using a cricket match as an excuse to hurl racist abuse against Afghans is peak shamelessness. Pakistan’s decades old strategic depth policy and interventionist misadventures in Afghanistan is why Afghans have a problem with Pakistan. Introspect before belittling Afghans,” he emphasised.

Islamic hate preacher Zakir Naik tweeted about suicide bombing within hours of Mangaluru blast, read details

According to a report by Republic Bharat, Mangaluru auto blast suspect Mohammed Shariq was inspired by radical Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. This allegation is substantiated by the fact that Zakir Naik made a tweet regarding the suicide bombing within hours after the blast in the auto in Mangaluru was reported.

On November 19, at 6:13 p.m., Zakir Naik tweeted about suicide bombing while the Mangaluru auto blast occurred at 4:29 p.m. on the same day. From his official YouTube channel, which has over 3 million subscribers, he released a video titled “Is Suicide Bombing Allowed in Islam?”

The tweet.

Interestingly, Shariq, the suspect in the Mangaluru bomb, had multiple videos of Zakir Naik on his phone. He allegedly referred to him as his true inspiration. More than 50 videos of Zakir Naik’s talks, according to the sources cited by Republic Bharat, were discovered on Shariq’s phone.

The tweet was made by the Twitter handle @drzakiranaik which claims to be the official handle of the fugitive Islamic preacher. It has more than 45 thousand followers. The Twitter account is also linked to Naik’s verified Facebook page.

Days after the explosion in Karnataka’s coastal town Mangaluru was confirmed to be a homemade pressure cooker bomb, it has come to light that the accused in the case, Mohammed Shariq, utilised cryptocurrency to carry out the terror operation.

Reportedly, the probing agencies noted that Shariq and his handlers used cryptocurrencies and the dark web to make financial transactions and received funds online to execute the blast. Shariq traded in bitcoins and received funding online from the Middle east for the terror operation. Cryptocurrency has emerged as a major threat in terms of terror funding and the Police in this case are closely investigating its involvement.

Shariq used fake IDs in Hindu name to rent a room

On November 21, it was reported that the accused Mohammed Shariq, who had previously been detained under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), had used fake identity cards to rent a room in Mysore. The Forensic Science Laboratory Division (FSL) team arrived at Shariq’s rented house in Mysore on Sunday as the inquiry into the Mangaluru bomb case proceeded. The squad seized explosive-making ingredients from Shariq’s home.

Gelatin powder, circuit boards, tiny bolts, batteries, mobile phones, wood power, aluminium multimeters, cables, mixing jars, pressure cookers, and other components required to build explosives were found by the FSL team. One mobile phone, two fake Aadhaar cards, one fake pan card, and one FINO debit card were also discovered by the forensic experts. The accused is alleged to have been assembling explosive devices at his home.

The suspect was paying Rs 1,800 per month for a single room, according to the house owner from Mysore. He presented a copy of the rental agreement, which showed the suspect’s name as Premraj, S/o Sri Maruthi, and his address as Hubballi.

The Police amid the investigations on November 22, also recovered the CCTV footage showing the accused boarding the auto-rickshaw at Naguri minutes before the explosion. In the footage, Shariq could be seen carrying a huge backpack in which the pressure cooker that was turned into IED was allegedly packed. The second suspect could also be seen with Shariq in the video. Karnataka Police has revealed that the suspect used the Isha Foundation logo as the display picture on his social media accounts to mask his identity.

The Pakistani terrorists held Mumbai hostage for four days in one of India’s worst terror attacks, killing 166 and injuring 300 people.

The terror attacks on November 26 were carried out by the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), whose chief, Hafiz Saeed, has been designated a global terrorist by the United Nations. Pakistan’s government and army instead of punishing the mastermind of the deadly attacks provides protection to him.

The attack

On November 26, 2008, ten Pakistani terrorists arrived in Mumbai via sea route. They attacked various locations in Mumbai’s southern parts, including Nariman House, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Leopold Cafe, and grand hotels such as Taj Palace and Trident. Apart from opening fire in public and brutally killing scores, they also planted a bomb inside a taxi and drove it into Mumbai’s suburbs. The attacks claimed the lives of 166 people, including foreign nationals. Ajmal Kasab was apprehended alive by Mumbai police from a vehicle on Marine Drive, while all nine of his other accomplices were neutralized in a 60-hour-long operation.

The conspiracy to establish ‘Hindu terrorism’

Former Mumbai Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria revealed in his book ‘Let Me Say It Now’ that terrorist Ajmal Kasab had an ID with a Hindu name on it during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. The name on Kasab’s ID was “Samir Chaudhary.” Maria was on control room duty on the day ten Pakistani terrorists carried out the attacks in Mumbai.
