Anti-CAA Delhi riots: Daughter of Congress leader and NYT journalist blames Hindus for partition to shield rioting Islamists

Award-winning writer Sonia Faleiro has blamed Hindus for the partition in wake of the riots that have erupted across Delhi by Islamists against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Faleiro’s writing and photographs appear in The New York Times, The Financial Times, Harper’s, Granta, The California Sunday Magazine, The Guardian, and Smithsonian.

Sonia Faleiro’s tweet

Sonia Faleiro does not explicitly blame Hindus for the partition but the implications of her tweet are clear. Pakistan was formed on the basis of a genocidal hatred for Hindus and Jinnah demanded the creation of Pakistan because he said Muslims could not coexist with Hindus within India. Under such circumstances, when Faleiro says “Jinnah knew Indians better than Nehru”, especially in the wake of communal riots at the national capital, the real intent of her words could not be clearer.

The writer appears to claim that Jinnah demanded a separate state for Muslims because he knew ‘Indians’ better than Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Her claim is one of the crassest justification of the genocidal hatred Jinnah reared in his heard towards Hindus and a blatant attempt to whitewash the massacre of Hindus following Jinnah’s call for Direct Action Day.

Hindus have been murdered and their property has been set on fire amidst chants of ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ and ‘Nara e Taqbeer’. Furthermore, a gun-wielding man who fired shots at the Police has been identified as one local named Shahrukh. But Sonia Faleiro is busy retweeting incendiary tweets on social media that absolves Islamists of all guilt for their role in the current communal riots in Delhi.

Sonia Faleiro is the wife of Ulrik McKnight. Ulrik McKnight is Rahul Gandhi’s business partner, whose name appeared in the document provided by Congress as proof of Rahul Gandhi’s nationality when controversy erupted over the former Congress president’s nationality. He is the second director in one ‘Bristol Legal Services Limited’. Meanwhile, Sonia Faleiro is the daughter of Eduardo Faleiro, a Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader.

The Hindu organisations in the central Gujarat town of Khambhat are observing a strike today in protest to the arson, loot, attacks perpetrated by the Muslims against the Hindus of the area.

Khambat, where communal clashes broke out between Hindus and Muslims on Sunday, remained on the boil for the third day in a row as a mob set on fire two roadside cabins and motorcycles on the day a bandh was called by the Hindu organisations. Thousands of Hindus hit the streets demanding actions the culprits responsible for the attacks against them. The bandh was also supported by a majority of schools, colleges and markets as they remained shut amidst the ongoing communal flare-up.

According to the reports, the Hindu population in Khambhat are agitated after the targeted attack unleashed by the Muslim groups. Police constable Dharmendrasinh Bhimsinh stated that the Muslim mob attacked houses belonging to the Hindu community in Bhasarvad area. The Muslims had come there from Pirajpur and Tran Limdi areas.

As per a report in Desh Gujarat, while many police personnel were deployed in Ahmedabad over US President Trump’s visit, Muslim mobs had gone on a rampage, attacking Hindu houses in Akbarpur, Pith Bazar, Lal Darwaza and Bhavsarvad areas. A policeman was allegedly beaten by iron rods. A person named Tapasvi Chunara was injured by an acid attack by the mob.

A Hindu temple was vandalised and several motorcycles of Hindus were torched. Later, clashes broke out between the communities after which an armed mob of about 1200 Muslims from Kajiwad, Panch Hatdi, Dadiba, Tran Limdi etc barged into Hindu houses and set them aflame. The police had to employ lathi-charge and use tear gas shells to bring the situation under control.

However, the violence spilled over into the second day as Muslim mobs continued to attack Hindu homes in the town. In response to the continuing violence, Hindus staged a Bandh on Tuesday seeking imposition of Disturbed Area Act in the town, strict policing and action against the perpetrators involved in arson and violence.

Local MP Patel, who was in Delhi for a parliamentary meeting said, “This is the second or third time that communal clashes have erupted in Khambhat. The town-wide attack, especially in Bhasarvad reeks of conspiracy. I have informed the government about the situation. I had visited the violent-stricken areas on Sunday evening. I also had a meeting with police officials. Yesterday, the police had arrested some people involved in Sunday’s violence.

The police had apparently filed 4 FIRs and had identified some of the accused involved. Sarfaraz Khan alias Bablu Yusuf Pathan, Sohail alias Kanto Sarfaraz Saiyad, Safdar Hussain, Zahir Hussain, Sheikh Muhammad Hanif alias Barfan Sheikh, Mohsin Khan alias Chor Yusuf Khan Pathan, Moinuddin Gulam, Hussain Badshah, Moinuddin Badruddin Sheikh were amongst those identified as the main rioters by the police.

John Oliver takes rumour mongering to the international circles, peddles fake narrative of minority persecution, RSS, NRC and CAA

Comedian John Oliver, In his show Last Week Tonight, not only used a wrong map of India with part of Kashmir illegally occupied by Pakistan cut off, he even went on a misinformed and motivated tirade against India. Three minutes into the programme, he claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a “controversial” figure in India due to the “steadily escalating”  persecution of religious minorities.

Nothing possibly can be further from the truth. The Modi government has taken to modernizing “madrasa” education so economically weaker Muslim children are better equipped for better jobs. There are financial incentives for Muslim girls; legal reforms on “triple talaq” and air-tickets for Hajj travel have been reduced from Rs 97,000 to Rs 20,000. It’s helping stranded Muslims in Pakistan to return home safely (case in point: Uzma Ahmad and Mohammedi Begum).

In an attempt to whitewash the Anti-CAA rioters fuelled by Islamic Supremacy, he claimed that the motivated protests were a result of the “persecution.”

John Oliver further talks about about RSS and claims that the second RSS Sarsangchalak, Golwalkar, was inspired by Adolf Hitler. This is the same lie that has been repeatedly peddled in India and has now found takers in international circles.

Read: The ‘Golwalkar was a fascist who drew inspiration from Nazism’ propaganda must be exposed

In his profuse writings, letters, articles, statements, and interviews, there doesn’t seem to be a single sentence that declares Golwalkar’s admiration for Hitler. Not one. Yet libraries of articles and books repeat the lie to run down the world’s biggest mass organization.

This ocean of lies floats on a mere two paragraphs which appeared in Golwalkar’s maiden book in 1938, “We, Our Nationhood Defined”. The book has never been reprinted since 1947. It’s been over 70 years but these two paragraphs alone are the edifice around which an entire cottage industry of RSS-bashing, Hindu-mocking has flourished.

As has often been the case with outsiders observers, John Oliver highlighted the Gujarat riots of 2002 and pointed out how Narendra Modi was denied a visa by the United Kingdom and the United States.

Displaying his brazen intellectual dishonesty, Oliver avoided mention of the clean chit given by the independent SIT constituted by the Supreme Court of India. He also failed to mention that the United States revoked its visa ban following which the Indian Prime Minister addressed the Congress after he was exonerated by the apex Court.

The host also stressed on the flawed argument surrounding NRC and CAA often peddled by the so-called liberals in India to scare the minorities. Oliver cast aspersions that a combination of NRC and CAA would make the “poor” and “illiterate” Muslims Stateless.

Nothing can possibly be further from the truth. Citizenship Amendment Act is aimed to fast-track the citizenship process of persecuted religious minorities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who had entered India illegally before December 31, 2014. It has no provisions to strip anyone of their citizenship. As for the Nationwide NRC, the draft has not yet been laid out by the Government.

Since the CAA is specifically directed towards persecuted religious minorities from the neighbouring Islamic Republics, it does not provide automatic immunity to Hindus who are not from these countries and living in India. The fake narrative of “rising cases against minorities” is often cited in India on the basis of manipulated statistics peddled by fake hate trackers such as IndiaSpend.

It is unfortunate that international commentators often misguide their audience about India with distorted facts and fabricated stories. This is what happens when British-American comedians write their jokes based on ill-informed material procured from Indian propagandists masquerading as ‘comedians’.

Anti-CAA riots in Aligarh and Delhi linked, PFI and Bhim Army and their phone records and more under scanner: Here are the details

0

According to the Intelligence Agencies, the role of the radical Islamist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI), a radical Islamic outfit, along with Bhim Army, an Ambedkarite organisation has come forth as one of the prime accused in instigating the CAA-related violence occurred in the western Uttar Pradesh and Delhi recently.

A string of violence related to arson, stone-pelting and firing ensued in Delhi of late where anti-CAA rioters went on a rampage against the pro-CAA supporters and disrupted the law and order of the National Capital. Now, a report of UP State Intelligence has revealed on the basis of Call Detail Records (CDRs) of a few key mobile phone numbers that violence that erupted in Delhi in the last two days was inextricably linked with the simultaneous violence that took place in Aligarh after the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The state intelligence report also stated that officials of Bhima Army, who held a demonstration in Ambedkar park in Aligarh, met PFI officials on Sunday after submitting a memorandum to the city magistrate.

Following this, a group of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students met Bhim Army and PFI leaders. The report further added that a large contingent under the leadership of Bhim Army reached a religious place in the town and states removing posters and shouting anti-government slogans.

When the police tried to take control of the deteriorating situation during Delhi violence, the demonstrators started attacking police personnel by pelting stones at them. The violence then touched off in Upper Court and Jamalpur area of the town where the anti-CAA riots were already underway.

“Simultaneous incidents of violence erupted in different parts of the city. It appears that stone pelting was orchestrated and the ensuing violence in the Northeast district of Delhi had links to Aligarh. We are trying to verify some crucial phone call data,” a Circle Officer of Aligarh police said.

There is an uncanny symmetry in the timing and the pattern of CAA related violence in Delhi and Aligarh. “Violence in both places was initiated by stone-pelting after which huge crowds gathered, leading to incidents of arson and looting,” he said.

“The riots that took place in Delhi had a stark resemblance to those that happened in Aligarh. In Aligarh shops were looted in Khair road area, while in Delhi’s Jaffrabad neighbourhood a petrol pump was set ablaze and several shops were ransacked,” he continued.

The police officer also highlighted yet another similarity between the violence in Aligarh and Delhi, saying policemen were targeted by the rampaging mob at both the places. “In attacks in Delhi, head constable Ratan Lal died and a DCP was seriously injured. In Aligarh Inspector Ravindra Kumar Singh and several constables were attacked by the mob,” he said.

Earlier, before these revelations about the Delhi violence, the Enforcement Directorate report had revealed to the Ministry of Home Affairs that the PFI spent about 120 crores in a month to orchestrate the violent riots in the country, naming eminent lawyers Kapil Sibal, Indira Jaising and Dushyant Dave also as the beneficiaries of PFI’s funding.

Overall, 120 crores were credited to a total of 73 accounts held by PFI, its related entity namely Rehab India foundation and several individuals associated with the PFI. Rs 120 crore was routed through 73 different bank accounts to avoid scrutiny.

In addition, PFI has its national headquarters located in Shaheen Bagh, the place where hundreds of Muslim women had staged a protest against the CAA and blocked one of the busiest arterial roads of the National Capital.  The Enforcement Directorate had also established links between PFI leaders and official functionaries of the Bhim army.

Cricket ties between India and Pakistan won’t improve till Modi is in power, says Shahid Afridi, ignoring terrorism that his country exports

Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi, once again, instead of acknowledging the growing export of terrorism in his country, which is the prime reason why cricketing bilateral ties have suffered between the two countries, once again goes on to blame India and Modi for it.

In an interview to Cricket Pakistan, when asked if bilateral cricketing ties between India and Pakistan can resume, Shahid Afridi opined that bilateral cricketing ties with India cannot improve until the time Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in power.

Afridi blamed Modi for further damaging the relations between Pakistan and India since his Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in India in 2014.

“Till Modi is in power, I don’t think we will get any response from India. We have all, including Indians, understood the way Modi thinks. His thinking is inclined towards negativity,” Afridi said in an interview to Cricket Pakistan when asked if bilateral cricketing ties between India and Pakistan can resume.

“Relationship between India and Pakistan has been damaged because of one person only. And that is not what we want. People from either side of the border want to travel to each other’s country. I don’t understand what Modi wants to do and what his agenda really is,” Afridi further said.

The two teams have not played a bilateral series since 2013 when Pakistan travelled to India for a three-match ODI series. India’s last visit to Pakistan was in 2006 during Rahul Dravid’s tenure as captain.

However, this is not the first time Sahid Afridi has blamed India for the downfall of the game in his country. He had last year in September held India and IPL responsible for the International cricketers refusing to tour Pakistan citing security concerns. Afridi asserted that IPL franchisees are exerting pressure on the players to shun playing in Pakistan and its T20 league or else they won’t be granted any contracts in the subsequent editions of the Indian Premier League(IPL).

Afridi made this comments after 10 Srilankan cricketers opted out of a tour of Pakistan citing security reasons.

Instead of raising the issue of terrorism and deteriorating security in Pakistan, which was the reason why then to it is internationally banished from hosting any ICC cricketing event, Shahid Afridi proceeds to insinuate that India and IPL franchisees are coercing the cricketers to stop playing in Pakistan. In fact, out of all the 10 players of the Sri Lankan team that opted out of Pakistan tour citing security concern.

Saddam and his friend Manzur arrested for burning a mother and her daughter alive in West Bengal: Here are the details

Two people have been arrested in West Bengal over the murder of two women in Haldia. The charred remains of the deceased, Riya Dey and her 40-yer old mother Rama were discovered at Jhikhukhali on the banks of the Haldi river on February 18 after they were burnt alive by the murderers. The accused have been identified as Sheikh Saddam Hussain and his friend Manzur Alam Mullick.

There is some confusion regarding the age of the daughter as some reports claim she is 19 and others that she is 22. East Midnapore police superintendent Indira Mukherjee said that a preliminary probe had revealed that Saddam was in a relationship with the daughter. She also revealed that the women were alive when their bodies were set on fire. She also said that more people could have been involved in the murder.

“It was a pre-planned murder. The accused are now in custody. Once we interrogate them thoroughly, we will get to extract further details as to what exactly happened, how the victims were brought to Haldia, whether they were sedated or raped and how they were murdered,” Mukherjee said.

As per reports, Rama and Riya had met the accused through social media. It is being claimed that Saddam had promised to marry her despite the fact that she was already married. Allegedly, Saddam took Rama and Riya to a house in Durgachok where they were fed sedatives following which they lost consciousness. The murder was carried out afterwards.

State BJP President Dilip Ghosh has claimed that Saddam is linked to a minister in the Trinamool Congress government. The Minister mentioned by Dilip Ghosh is Suvendu Adhikari. He is the Minister in Charge of Transport, Irrigation and Water resource in the government of West Bengal. Dilip Ghosh further said, “He was even arrested for rigging the polls on an earlier occasion. I don’t know whether the Trinamool considers him an asset”.

West Bengal: Seven houses of BJP supporters set on fire, 20 activists injured allegedly by TMC goons following death of TMC activist

Seven houses have been set on fire at the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, the police said on Monday. The houses that were set in fire in West Bengal by TMC goons allegedly belonged to BJP supporters. The violence was initiated after the body of a local Trinamool Congress leader reached Huslurdanga village in Mainaguri area on Sunday, a police officer said.

The BJP has blamed the TMC for the violence. Along expected lines, the ruling party in West Bengal has dismissed the allegations. The rioters, suspected to be from the TMC, went on a rampage at Churabandar in Maynagiri hours after the death of a Trinamool activist. Some shops were also reportedly set on fire. Around 20 BJP supporters are believed to have been injured in the said attack.

TMC’s Mallick Haat booth president Bhombol Ghosh was reportedly attacked with sharp weapons at Huslurdanga market on the 14th of February. He later succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Siliguri on Saturday. Local TMC leader Manoj Roy claimed that BJP activists were responsible for the fatal assault on Ghosh. A large contingent under Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Dhendhup Sherpa has been deployed in the area to prevent further escalation of violence.

West Bengal has become a hotbed for political violence. Since the time the Bharatiya Janata Party has made successful inroads into the state, TMC goons have resorted to uncontrolled hooliganism and unleashed severe atrocities on innocent BJP workers.

Several such incidents where BJP Karyakartas have been brutally murdered have been reported in the recent past, and though its sufficiently clear that the TMC goons have been behind every such incident, the party chief Mamata Banerjee, who otherwise is so vocal and vociferous, has always maintained a stoic silence over these inhumane and barbaric acts.
