RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav calls CM Nitish Kumar ‘Kansa’, who will be ‘demolished in a ras-leela’

With the Bihar assembly elections just months away, the political parties are now upping their games. The Bihar political arena is already spiced up with the controversial statements made by RJD leader Tej Pratap Singh in a recent rally in Bihar.

Addressing a gathering in Vaishali, Yadav launched a blistering attack against the incumbent chief minister Nitish Kumar, equating him to ‘Kansa’ and asserting that he will be ‘killed’ in 2020. Yadav, who commenced his speech extolling about his prowess in playing the flute, he went on to claim that Kumar is a “Kansa” who will be killed in a “Ras Leela”.

Kansa or Kamsa was Lord Krishna’s evil maternal uncle who was also a tyrant ruler of Mathura. He was killed by Lord Krishna.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav was in Rajpakar village in Vaishali district to participate in a religious ceremony. Not only Yadav likened Kumar to Kansa but he also led the crowd into chanting slogans demanding ‘death’ to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. While addressing people, Yadav asked, “If Kansa was killed for his misdeeds, who will be killed in 2020?” The people listening to him in rapt attention instantly replied in unison-“Nitish”. Yadav’s call for ‘death’ to Kumar is a metaphorical one in context of state assembly elections.

After crowd chanted Nitish Kumar’s name, Yadav added, “I do not need to speak. You all know very well. You people know what phase Bihar is going through. We are working day and night to save Bihar.”

Bihar Assembly elections are expected in the latter part of the year. However, opposition political parties have started with their campaigns to target the current government led by Nitish Kumar. CPI leader and former JNUSU president, Kanhaiya Kumar is on a month-long rally in Bihar against the backdrop of the central government enacted CAA and to solicit support in the upcoming assembly polls later this year.

Vidya Bharti, the education wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has noted a remarkable upsurge in the Muslim and Christian students in its schools only in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the last three years, reports the Times of India.

Approximately 30 percent of the increase is noted in the past three years. As per the report, about 12000 students of Muslim and Christian communities are studying in the RSS schools. The Vidya Bharti has also appointed Muslim teachers and staff in the schools.

Breaking the religious stereotypes the, Muslim students recite shlokas and chanting mantras and also doing remarkably excellent in studies.

Additional Secretary of Vidya Bharati (East Uttar Pradesh), Chintamani Singh said, “As many as 12000 Muslims and Christians are studying in our schools in UP. Around 9037 Muslims and 10 Christians students are pursuing studies in 1194 schools of east UP. The remaining are in the west UP.”

In 2016, the number of Muslim students in schools in East UP comprising 49 districts, including Awadh, Kanpur, Kashi, and Gorakhpur prants was 6890, it increased 9037 in 2019. “The urge of good and quality education has been the prime reason for the rise of Muslim students in our schools,” Singh said.

He asserted that around six lacs students are studying in Vidya Bharti schools in UP, with a majority in rural areas.

It is notable that many Muslim students studying in Saraswati Shishu Mandir and Saraswati Vidya Mandir have been performing well in academics, sports as well as cultural activities.

Yugul Kishore Mishra, principal of Saraswati Vidya Mandir told The TOI, “Two students of our school, Mohd Afsar of class X and Mohd Sahban of class XI won Gold Medals in Khelo India Youth Games in Under-17 category recently. Many Muslim students are doing well in academics also.”

Delhi: After it was briefly reopened, Noida-Faridabad road again closed down amidst anti-CAA protests

0

After 69 days of blockade due to ongoing Anti-CAA sit-in protests in Shaheen Bagh, blocking the Kalindi Kunj pass in Delhi has finally reopened for the commuters to be able to take the Noida-Faridabad road.

The development came after Supreme court-appointed lawyers Sadhna Ramachandran and Sanjay Hegde as mediators to talk to the protestors and urged them to continue protests at another place rather than blocking roads causing serious inconvenience to the commuters.

The order of apex court appointing SC lawyers as mediators came at the backdrop of two petitions filed in the court, seeking clearance of Shaheen Bagh area and the Kalindi Kunj Road. The first petition had been filed by lawyer and activist, Amit Sahni while the other one had been filed by BJP leader Nand Kishore Garg.

On February 10, the apex court observed that there must be a designated site to carry out such protests and raised concerns about whether public inconvenience can be caused by blocking roads indefinitely. The anti CAA protests were being observed from early December in the wake of the Citizenship Amendment Act enacted in parliament.

However, after being open for a brief while, the road was again shut down.

New York Times provides platform to FBI most wanted Taliban leader to peddle his propaganda

The reputation of the New York Times has been falling fast in recent years due to its questionable editorial standards. The liberal bias of the newspaper has led to a situation where it has sacrificed objective reporting of events for brownie points in liberal circles. The falling standards of the ‘failing’ New York Times were once again on display when they provided a platform to an Islamic Terrorist from the Taliban.

In the opinion-editorial, the terrorist who happens to be the deputy leader of the Taliban proceeded to whitewash the crimes of his brethren and say laughable things such as “I am convinced that the killing and the maiming must stop.” The terrorist also said, “Our negotiation team, led by my colleagues Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Sher Mohammed Abas Stanekzai, has worked tirelessly for the past 18 months with the American negotiators to make an agreement possible.”

The headline of the report

Sirajuddin Haqqani stated, “We stuck with the talks despite recurring disquiet and upset within our ranks over the intensified bombing campaign against our villages by the United States and the flip-flopping and ever-moving goal posts of the American side.” In the oped, Haqqani also claimed that they were “forced to defend” against the USA and its allies does not mention the legitimacy of the Afghan government.

Haqqani is the leader of the Pakistan-based Haqqani Network comprised of fighters affiliated with al-Qaeda. He is wanted by the FBI and the United Nations for being “actively involved in the planning and execution of attacks” against US troops. He is also wanted in connection with a 2008 terrorist attack on a hotel in Kabul and an assassination attempt against Afghanistan’s president. The US announced a bounty of up to $10 million for information leading to his arrest.

The NYT appears to be ever willing to go to any length in order to oppose Donald Trump, the President of the US, and providing a platform to the Taliban to run their propaganda appears to be one an instance of it. The NYT’s conduct is in sync with that of the western press at large. For instance, the Washington Post described ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as an “austere religious scholar” after he was neutralized by US forces on the orders of Donald Trump.

Bloomberg News, owned by presidential aspirant Michael Bloomberg, glorified al-Baghdadi by describing him as someone who came from a small village and then achieved great success against all odds. The Western press’ glorification of terrorists and terrorism is something India encounters on a daily basis. They go to great lengths to whitewash the Jihad in Kashmir and call it a ‘freedom struggle’. It’s only now that the people in the West are realizing the extent of the moral depravity of its mainstream media.

The New York Times itself has peddled anti-India narratives regularly. In the past, NYT has exploited children’s deaths to malign Yogi Government’s crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses in Uttar Pradesh. In an op-ed about India that was centred around the CBI raids at the residences of Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, the founder promoters of NDTV, the NYT’s reportage was a textbook case of distorting the truth.

NYTimes’ former Delhi bureau chief Ellen Barry had also indulged in white-washing the 2002 Godhra carnage where as many as 59 people were burnt alive in a train. She had also spread lies to insult the victims of Godhra carnage in her report on the Gulbarg Society verdict. NYT also encourages troll-like behaviour while reporting on democratically elected public representatives by attempting to trivialise the personal lives of female politicians.

Madhya Pradesh: Congress govt withdraws sterilisation circular amid ‘Emergency 2’ backlash, sacks NHM official

After receiving severe backlash from all quarters for its emergency-like diktat, the Congress-led Madhya Pradesh government has been compelled to rethink on its sterilisation orders.

Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Tulsi Silawat has now said that the State government has withdrawn the orders. According to ANI, the Madhya Pradesh government also removed National Health Mission state Director Chhavi Bharadwaj who issued the order informing male multi-purpose health workers that they would be compulsorily retired if they fail to convince even one man for sterilisation in 2019-20.

In what is a start reminder of the horrors of Indira Gandhi-led Emergency, Congress’ Kamal Nath-led Madhya Pradesh government had issued orders to the health staff to bring at least one man for sterilisation or they stand to lose their jobs.

As per reports, the number of men opting for sterilisation has come down in the state. Hence, the government had warned the male multi-purpose health workers (MMPHW) who failed to mobilise even one man for sterilisation in 2019-2020 that they will have their salaries withheld and they will be made to compulsorily retire.

MP government’s National Health Mission has asked its district officials to identify male workers with ‘zero work output’ and apply ‘no work no pay’ principle if they fail to get at least one male patient for sterilisation by end of next month. The circular was issued on 11th February wherein the workers were directed to mobilise and bring in at least 5-10 “willing beneficiaries” when the camps are held in districts.

Reportedly, the number of men opting for sterilisation has been steadily decreasing in the state. As on 20th February 2020, the number of men who opted for sterilisation in MP for 2019-2020 was 3,397 as against 3.34 lakh women. The number was almost 10,000 for men in 2015-16. In the last three years, the number has steadily decreased.

When the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed Emergency in 1975, her son Sanjay Gandhi in 1976 had initiated a compulsory sterilisation programme to limit population growth in the country. As per reports, quotas were set and the officials worked hard to achieve them.

Fact Check: Left-liberals malign Hindus by sharing 13 imaginary Hindu names for those arrested in espionage case

Days after Delhi Police arrested 13 people, including 11 Indian Navy personnel on the charges of having a connection with a Pakistani espionage racket, Social Media is rife with communal insinuations stating that all the people arrested are Hindus and none of them is a Muslim. Several people are sharing 13 Hindu names on social media, claiming that they have been arrested in the case.

Left-wing activist Prashant Bhushan quoted a news article published a fairly new website Aajtak Media, and posted 13 Hindu names on Twitter. He added that after reading their Facebook posts it was known that they are ‘pakke deshabhakts’.

Author Rahul Easwar also posted the names, quoting Social media. He posted a link to one India Today report, which mentions no name of arrested persons.

Known Hindu hater Ashok Swain tweeted that none of the arrested is Muslim, and most of them are Upper Caste Hindus, quoting a report on the incident by The Print. Interestingly, the report that he quoted mentioned no name of arrested personnel.

Verified Twitter user Preeti Chobey, who, according to her bio is an ex-journalist and an ex-National Executive Member of the Samajwadi Party, also shared the same news report and 13 Hindu names with a sarcastic comment that “these are the rabid Muslim men who were arrested by police for spying”.

Similar tweets were posted by several other Twitter users, highlighting the fact that none of the arrested persons is Muslims and all of them are Hindus.

It is noteworthy to mention that the article shared by Prashant Bhushan and Preeti Chobey in their tweets is from a dubious website that has so far hosted very limited articles and some random blogs. In fact, the first article on the website was published on February 16, 2020. However, they went ahead to give a communal flavour to a serious offence such as espionage by asserting that Hindus were involved in spying for Pakistan, and not Muslims.

It is also notable to mention that the dubious article on Aajtak Media website had mentioned names of 7 alleged spies. However, Prashant Bhushan, Rahul Easwar and others mentioned all the 13 names. In all likelihood, much like the Aajtak Media, the left-liberals too conjured up the names of the alleged culprits and gave it a communal tone to malign Hindus.

As per reports, the Delhi Police apprehended 13 people including 11 Navy officers after allegations of being honey-trapped by Pakistan into spying on India and leaking sensitive information on social media to enemy spies surfaced against them.

The news was covered by many media organisations including India Today, but none of them shared the names of arrested Navy personnel and civilians.

In addition to this, the feature image in the article published on Aajtak Media pertains to a gang rape case in Gurgaon which was published in Hindustan Times in 2017. Ironically enough, those arrested in the case were all Muslims- Ejaz Malik, Mukhtar Ali and Jalil Ahmed, who were accused of gang-raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl in Gurgaon.

There have been no valid sources quoted by the Aajtak Media website that reveals the identity of those arrested in the case, making one doubt the veracity of the claims made by the suspicious website.

While there has been no legitimate source which lists down the identities and religions of those arrested by the Delhi Police in the espionage case, a coordinated campaign to smear Hindus seems to be underway on social media websites. Many Twitter users, including well-known persons like Prashant Bhushan and Rahul Easwar, have actively partaken in propagating this misinformation along the communal lines which bothering to examine the veracity of their claims.

Another woman detained in Bengaluru for raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans and holding ‘Free Kashmir’ poster at anti-CAA rally

A day after ultra-left protestor Amulya Leona shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans at an anti-CAA protest rally in Bengaluru, another woman was detained on Friday for holding a “Kashmir Mukti, Dalit Mukti, Muslim Mukti” placard at a counter-protest in the city, reports ANI.

According to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao, the young woman was present at a protest organised by Hindu Jagaran Vedike. The accused Arudra sat among them with a placard in Kannada reading “Dalit Mukti, Kashmir Mukti, Muslim Mukti,” said Rao.

The shouting of slogans and endorsing of Free Kashmir protests in Bengaluru, comes a day after an ultra-left wing ‘protestor’ named Amulya Leona had raised “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans in the presence of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday at an anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rally in Bengaluru.

Ultra-left wing ‘activist’ Amulya had burst onto the stage to shout pro-Pakistan slogans while AIMIM chief Owaisi was present on it. Following the incident, the Karnataka police have sent Amulya to 14-day judicial custody. A case under Section 124A (Offence of sedition) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Amulya

Namaste Trump: India prepping up for US President Donald Trump’s maiden trip next week

US President Donald Trump is set to visit India with the first lady Melania Trump on February 24 and 25. Although he will be staying for only 36 hours, preparations are in full swing as India gears up to welcome the US President on his maiden trip to the country.

The ministry of external affairs (MEA) on Thursday said that it expects a large number of people to line-up along the route from Ahmedabad airport to Motera stadium, during the visit of US President Donald Trump next week.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US President will address the ‘Namaste Trump’ event at the Motera Stadium on February 24. This event is being said to be along the same lines of the ‘Howdy Modi’ event which took place in Houston hosted by the Indian-American community last year.

In preparation of Trump’s visit, the Gujarat government and the Ahmedabad administration have stepped up the renovation and the beautification process in the city. The Gujarat government will spend around Rs 80-85 crore on the preparations for the upcoming visit of US President Donald Trump.

So far, the Gujarat state authorities have spent around Rs 30 crore on improving road infrastructure and the cricket stadium, city’s top civic official Vijay Nehra said.

“Eighteen roads of about 20 kilometres (12 miles) in length from Ahmedabad Airport to Montera Stadium have been widened or re-laid,” Nehra said. Ashok Brahmbhatt, secretary of Gujarat Cricket Association, which owns the Motera Stadium set to be opened by Trump, said it would also spend around Rs 1 crore during the event. Another Rs 6 crore will go on “beautification” of the city, said Nehra.

For the high-profile visit, more than 12,000 police officers will be deployed in the city. Gujarat has expedited the Swachhata drive, one of the flagship programs of the Modi-led government. Walls along the stretch from the airport to the venue have been painted with slogans and messages depicting Indo-US bonhomie.

The Motera Stadium, also known as Sardar Patel Stadium, expected to be the world’s largest cricket stadium, beating out Australia’s iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MGC) post-renovation, is being jazzed up to host the “Namaste Trump,” event.

Trump would reach Ahmedabad at noon on February 24. Here he will take part in the roadshow. 28 stages have been constructed for the entire roadshow. Following this, Trump would be accompanied by PM Modi to the Motera stadium, which would be inaugurated by the former, followed by the ‘Namaste Trump’ mega event.

Many prominent Gujarati singers like Parthiv Gohil, Purushottam Upadhyay, Kirtidan Gadhvi, Kinjal Dave, Sairam Dave & Bollywood singer Kailash Kher will perform at ‘Namaste Trump’ at Motera Stadium event on February 24, informed Dhanraj Nathwani, the Vice President of Gujarat Cricket Association.

A practice pitch has been built near the main stadium. It is being believed that PM Modi and the US President might also try their hands on cricket during their visit to the Montera Cricket stadium.

The president and First Lady will later fly to Agra for an evening visit to Taj Mahal. On Tuesday morning, he will participate in an open-press welcome ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. He will also visit Mahatama Gandhi’s memorial Raj Ghat after the press conference. Later, he will head to Hyderabad House for bilateral meetings and lunch.

Trump will fly back to Washington DC on Tuesday at 10 pm.

A limited trade deal may be signed during the visit by President Trump.

As per reports, a $1.86 billion missile defence system deal is being worked upon, apart from a 2.6 Billion USD 24 MH-60 Seahawk helicopters made by Lockheed Martin is also on the cards.

Watch: Muslim teacher from Saharanpur goes on a toxic rant at Shaheen Bagh, gets suspended by school authorities

Two teachers from Saharanpur who had gone to protest at Shaheen Bagh on January 19 against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) had been suspended by the school authorities for one week, reported Patrika. They were served a notice and asked to provide an explanation for their actions.

The incident occurred on February 10.

While speaking to the media, Nahida Zaidi, the teacher from Asha Modern School, said, “We have reached here (Shaheen Bagh) from Saharanpur to show that Muslims are united. We have tolerated injustice. We have seen what has happened in Kashmir. We saw Triple Talaq, (the anti-Triple Talaq law by Modi government) We (Muslims) are united because Ayodhya has been illegally taken (by the Hindus) and now the CAA.” Nahida had been accused of provoking religious sentiments too.

She added, “Narendra Modi and Amit Shah cannot scare us because we (Muslims) are not weak.” She claimed that she is the only Muslim teacher at the Asha Modern School. She alleged that the other teachers (Hindus) speak ill of Muslims and consider all of them as “terrorists.”

In a laud rant, the teacher was seen exclaiming, “This land belongs to us, this sky belongs to us. How can you alienate us by bringing in NRC? Muslims have brought independence in this country. RSS was sold out. Now Modi and Amit Shah are enjoying benefits of independence and harassing us.”

Another teacher who teaches at the Rainbow school in Saharanpur said, “We are not beggars that we will come here (to protest) for money.”

It is notable here that many Islamists and groups with vested interests have been spreading the deliberate misinformation over the CAA and NRC, falsely claiming that it is directed against Muslims of India. The CAA has nothing to do with existing Indian citizens and the NRC, a proposed project to identify illegal immigrants in India, is yet to be even initiated.

After the videos of the teachers went viral, many organisations and Hindu groups in Saharanpur had protested. The school administrations had taken cognisance and had issued notices to two teachers. They have reportedly been suspended for a week.

Following the outrage, Nahida had apologised for her outrageous remarks in the viral video. She claimed, “Several people were going to Shaheen Bagh. Since that day was a holiday, I too went there to see what was happening. I was asked questions that were bizarre in nature. The good part of my media interaction was edited out and only the wrong remarks were put on focus. This is a conspiracy against me.”

She said, “The video is a month old. I went to Shaheen Bagh on January 19. I have no affiliations to any political party. I am sorry for my mistake.”

Contradicting Nahida’s claims, the principal of Asha Modern school, Divya Jain, said that she was not the only Muslim teacher in the school. She also refuted the allegations of anti-Muslim remarks by the teachers of the school and stated that the concerned teacher had never raised any such issue before her. The school management has also stated that teachers have been advised not to indulge in political activism and indisciplined behaviour.

The police are now investigating the video. ACP Vineet Bhatnagar said that action would be taken against any group trying to pressurise the school authorities into taking stringent measures against the accused teachers.

Uttar Pradesh: 3350 tonnes gold deposit- 5 times India’s current gold reserves, found in Sonbhadra, state govt to begin auction process soon

0

After almost two decades for rigorous search, Geological Survey of India and Uttar Pradesh Directorate of Geology and Mining have discovered two goldmines having around 3350-tonne gold ore in Uttar Pradesh’s Naxalite-affected Sonbhadra area.

GSI estimated gold deposits of approximately 2943.25 tonnes in Sonpahadi, while 646.15 tonnes in Hardi field in Sonbhadra district in Uttar Pradesh.

Gold mines found in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district.

This discovery of gold deposits is around five times the gold reserves of India, which currently stands at around 626 tonnes.

“The government is thinking of putting these deposits on lease for mining, for which a survey is being done. Gold deposits have been found at two places- Sonpahadi and Hardi field. GSI estimated gold deposits of 2,700 tonnes in Sonpahadi, while 650 tonnes in Hardi field,” KK Rai Mining Officer told news agency ANI.

The state mining department has formed a seven-member team that visited Sonbhadra on Thursday. The team will map the goldmine area and will conduct geo-tagging. The team will submit its report to the government on 22 February, after which the process of auctioning the blocks will be conducted by Yogi led State government.

According to officials, the government will start the auction process as soon as compensation payout and necessary approvals are granted. They also confirmed that the mineral-rich mines of Sonbhadra are easy to dig due to their geographical position. The mines are mostly situated on a hillock, which makes them easy to mine.

Apart from gold, officials are also exploring the possibility of rare minerals like uranium in the area.

This discovery is expected to give a big boost to the state’s revenue. Apart from providing both skilled and unskilled jobs, this will also lead to the much-needed development of the backward regions of these two districts of UP.

Update: On February 22, Geological Survey of India issued a statement saying that they never estimated the gold reserve at Sonbhadra at 3350 tonnes. They said that at the rate of 3.03 grams per tonne of ore, they had estimated only 160 kg of gold in the area, not 3350 tonnes as claimed by the state mining department. GSI said that they surveyed the Sonbhadra area in 1998-99 and 1999-2000, and results were not encouraging for major resources of gold.
