Actor Sushant Singh continues his delusional tirade, claims CAA will be withdrawn even after refugees have already been granted Indian citizenship under amended Act

Actor Sushant Singh, has now asserted that the government will revoke the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Singh, who has been vociferously opposing the Citizenship law, had earlier claimed of losing his job for speaking the ‘truth’ against CAA. The ex-host of the crime-based show, Savdhaan India, once again went on a delusional rant against the law at a protest rally at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan on Saturday.

Probably ignorant of the fact that thousands of people are already being granted Indian citizenship under the newly amended Act, Singh asserted that the Centre will have to withdraw the controversial law. Addressing a rally, Sushant Singh said, “I am here to show solidarity with all of you. We will fight and the government will revoke CAA. I salute your resistance and courage.”

“I am happy that Home Minister has said anyone can seek an appointment to meet and discuss CAA with him. I got to know that a Shaheen Bagh protesters are planning to meet him tomorrow,” Mr Singh told reporters. Sushant Singh has also requested the Maharashtra government to not allow National Population Register (NPR) exercise in the state as “it is the first step of NRC”.

All of this when as many as 2,830 people from Pakistan, 912 from Afghanistan and 172 from Bangladesh have been given Indian citizenship in the past six years and hundreds of them were Muslims. In fact, days after enactment of newly amended Citizenship Act, eight Pakistani refugees, who were living in Kota, Rajasthan since 2000, had been given Indian citizenship on December 30.

Though CM Ashok Gehlot had refused to implement CAA and NRC in Rajasthan it is being believed that there is immense pressure being put on the Congress government by the Hindu migrants in the state to consider the implementation of the Act.

Despite all such information being readily available on public platforms, the ultra-left wing intelligentsia of our country has consistently been displaying ignorance and spreading falsehood against the new Citizenship law.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill became an act after it was passed by the Indian Parliament and assented by the President in December last year.

The new Act seeks to grant Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees who came from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan on or before December 31, 2014. It applies to those who were forced to seek shelter in India due to persecution on the ground of religion. It aims to protect such people from proceedings of illegal migration. The cut-off date for citizenship is December 31, 2014, which means the applicant should have entered India on or before that date.

Moreover, those persecuted minorities from these 3 countries who come to India after 2014 using legal means will be granted citizenship after staying in India for 5 years, instead of normal requirement of 11 years.

Not over till the fat lady sings: Arvind Kejriwal sings yet again at his swearing in ceremony

Newly sworn in Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has done it yet again. AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal enthralled his supporters at the Ram Lila ground in the national capital today as he sang during his swearing in ceremony.

This is not the first time Kejriwal has sung at his own swearing in ceremony. In 2015 when he swore in as Delhi’s CM, he had broken into a surprise rendition of ‘insan ka insan se ho bhaichara’ to a stunned audience.

He was spotted singing this song outside Delhi LG’s house in May 2018. Kejriwal was protesting outside Delhi LG’s house over allegations that the LG was ‘stalling’ Delhi government projects under ‘pressure from BJP’.

So much is his penchant for singing that his daughter even confessed that her father would make everyone in family wake up at 6 am and make them sing ‘insan ka insan se ho bhaichara’.

‘Snatch away your rights’: Actor Naseeruddin Shah instigates Muslim women protesting against CAA at Bilalbagh in Bengaluru

The hate for Modi amongst the ultra-left wing intelligentsia of the country is compelling them to uselessly speak against the Citizenship Amendment Law without actually understanding the nitty-gritty of the Law. One such esteemed member of the ‘anti-Modi’ brigade is Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah who on late Friday evening made a surprise visit to Bilal Bagh, Bengaluru’s Shaheen Bagh, where Muslim women are on an indefinite dharna against Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.

Necessitated by his left-liberal tendencies, Shah addressed the Muslim woman protestors who thronged the shamiyana at the protest venue. He instigated thousands of Muslim women present there asking them to snatch away their rights.

Reading out a few lines from a verse written by poet Safdar Hashmi, Shah said that the women-led protests have given him the courage to speak up. “Everywhere in the country, women are protesting. These brave women are being asked by some elements: How can they come out on the streets? Who has given them permission and whether men have sent them to protest? To them, I have only one thing to say: These brave women are awakened now and don’t need anyone’s permission to protest,” he said.

Taking an indirect dig at Modi led BJP government Shah said: “When students in Jamia Millia Islamia are attacked, when a nine-year-old girl in Bidar is traumatised and is forced to live alone because her mother is taken into custody on no grounds and when in Delhi’s Gargi College, miscreants enter the premises and misbehave with our daughters, people who have spoken about ‘beti-padao beti-bachao’ seem to have still not found a voice to speak out,” Shah said, adding the incidents left his blood boiling.

“But women like you in Shaheen Bagh and Bilal Bagh help find courage and peace of mind,” he said.

Notably, actor Naseeruddin Shah, who has never shied away from exhibiting his left-liberal tendencies, had recently joined hands with 300 artists, including filmmakers such as Ratna Pathak Shah, Jaaved Jafferi, Nandita Das, Mira Nair, among others to sign an open letter standing in solidarity with the students who have been protesting incessantly against the CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC). These leftists had in their open letter called CAA a “threat” to the soul of India.

In response Union Minister Ramdas Athawale asked filmmaker Naseeruddin Shah to “study” the Citizenship Amendment Act and understand that it doesn’t harm the interests of Indian Muslims.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, divisive caste activist MLA from Gujarat, Jignesh Mevani, had also addressed the people gathered at the Billa Bagh protest site assuring the protesters that he would take their message of peace and resistance to Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh and everywhere else where similar protests are underway.

“Mothers, the light and brightness of your faces….if Modi sees you all just once, he will resign. Although this protest belongs to all of us, it especially belongs to all you revolutionary sisters and mothers. That’s why I haven’t come here today to give a long lecture, I have come to just witness your illumined faces,” he said.

Also joining in with the protest was Ramachandra Guha and trans-right activist, Akkai Padmashali.

The protest at Bengaluru’s Bilal Bagh which has drawn inspiration from Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, stepped into its 9th day of protest today. On Tannery Road where Bilal Bagh has been set up, Muslim women have blocked off the road by setting up a tent in which slogans against CAA and NRC are being shouted and songs are being sung.

The recent anti-CAA protests being perpetrated in different parts of the country have brought out into the open the ugly hatred that has been festering in the hearts of these leftist-liberals.

Recently, propagandist filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was also seen at Jamia and Shaheen Bagh expressing solidarity with the Islamist protestors present there, agitating against the Citizenship Amendment Law since over last two months.

Anti-BJP ecosystem including journalists spread edited CCTV footage to claim police attacked students in Jamia library

On Sunday, the Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC), which includes students and alumni of the Jamia Millia Islamia, released a purported CCTV footage in which some people with police uniforms were seen caning students allegedly in the library on December 15 during the anti-CAA riots that took place inside the university campus.

The 49-second video purportedly shows some seven to eight people alleged to be police personnel entering the Old Reading Hall and beating ‘students’ with lathis. The video was released by the JCC in the early hours of Sunday.

Interestingly, Jamia coordination committee, which has released the video on twitter is not even an officially elected body. It is formed after the December 15 riots and has been forefront at organising anti-CAA protests inside the university campus as well as at Shaheen Bagh, Khureji and other places.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsuYA1VhSPM]

As seen in the above video, the ‘students’ are sitting with closed books on the desks when police personnel are seen entering the library. The ‘student’ on the right suddenly puts up a handkerchief mask (20 seconds into the video) on his face just before the police enter the library. The ‘student’ on the top left corner is also wearing a handkerchief across his face while standing against a wall.

As soon as the JCC released the purported video, the ‘liberal-secular’ journalists jumped on to the scene to spread their false propaganda by claiming that it was Delhi police who first attacked the students resulting in further provocation inside the campus. By pinning the blame on the Delhi police and the Modi government by using purported videos, the ‘liberal-secular’ media and left-wing establishment tried to absolve Muslim mobs for the crimes they perpetrated on the police during the anti-CAA riots.

CJ Werleman, known for his anti-India and anti-Hindu propaganda used these edited videos to further is false agenda against the Narendra Modi government.

RJ Sayeman, known anti-Hindu propagandist and fake news purveyor, also took to Twitter to absolve the crimes of Muslim mobs at Jamia by pinning blame on the Delhi police.

Many ‘journalists’ echoed these sentiments.

Patanjali Varadarjan alias Tunku, Editor, Hoover Institution, too, took time off to abuse the Delhi Police.

Another lady named Smita Sharma, who claims to be both ‘independent’ and ‘journalist’, could not hold up her excitement as she began to foul mouth the Delhi police. She claimed that Delhi Police have permanent blot and declared that there can be no justification for the so-called brutality.

Rana Ayyub, the Islamic troll masquerading as a journalist, went a step ahead and edited out the masked ‘student’ on the left side of the video altogether.

However, the video which is released by the JCC has been carefully edited out and is being spread across the social media to peddle half-truths against the Delhi police personnel.

Meanwhile, another video has come to the fore where anti-CAA rioters could be seen setting a bike on fire.

At around 4 seconds in the above video, one can see a man in blue-black sweater with red and white stripes on his sleeves set a bike on fire and run away. In the video released by Jamia Coordination Committee, a man wearing similar sweater hides his face with a handkerchief. He appears like the same man on the extreme right which Rana Ayyub has meticulously cropped out in her video.

Anti-CAA riots in Jamia Millia Islamia university:

The controversial Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi had emerged as one of the epi-centres of the anti-CAA agitations being perpetrated in the name of ‘peaceful protests’. The students and Muslim mob associated with the Jamia Millia Islamia University had unleashed violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

In December, the protests against CAA and NRC had turned violent amidst chants of Allah-o-Akbar and Naara-e-Taqbeer. The Muslim mobs had burnt four DTC buses, 100 private vehicles and 10 police bikes and pelted stones, injuring several policemen.

Following the riots, the Delhi police had registered an FIR against six people including four local politicians and a former Congress MLA was also named as suspects related to Jamia violence. The Delhi Police had named former Congress MLA Asif Khan as one of the accused in its FIR.

The other six accused persons were identified as local politicians Ashu Khan, Mustafa and Haider, Kasim Usmani – a member of the CYSS, the student wing of Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party, AISA member Chandan Kumar, SIO member  Asif Tanha, a member of the Students Islamic Organisation of India.

The Delhi police had also arrested 10 people with criminal background in connection with the Jamia Nagar riots that took place in the national capital. The ten arrested people were identified as – Mohammad Hanif, Danish alias Jafar, Sameer Ahmed, Dilshad, Shareef Ahmed, Mohd Danish, Yunus Khan, Jumman, Anal Hassan, Anwar Kala.

“Rahul thinks he is knowledgeable, Priyanka toes Vadra line”, unhappy Congress functionaries want a non-Nehru-Gandhi as party president

The severe humiliation suffered by the Congress in the Delhi Assembly elections, where it lost deposit in most of the seats it contested, has now triggered a silent demand from the party workers to have a non-Nehru-Gandhi as party president, reports Sunday Guardian.

The key party functionaries are beginning to doubt and speculate that their message has not yet reached the Gandhis even as Sonia Gandhi is once again all set to hand over the reins of the Congress presidentship to Rahul Gandhi. The important leaders have already been alerted on Rahul’s reinstatement in March.

However, the general view of the party workers, which is shrinking day-by-day, is that it is time for Congress party to have a non-Gandhi at the helm of affairs, as advocated by Rahul himself that the only way forward was to have a non-Gandhi at the helm of affairs soon after 2019 Lok Sabha elections debacle. The party workers believe that the change in guard may ensure that Sonia Gandhi’s coterie that has developed a vested interest does not harm the party anymore.

The main apprehension of the Congress party workers is that if a member of the Gandhi Parivar continues to control the party then the result in the upcoming Bihar elections would not be any different from that of Delhi. Therefore, the need of the hour was to resuscitate the organisation for the future, the key functionaries believe.

Following the defeat in the capital, several senior party leaders such as Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jairam Ramesh and Milind Deora had to ask for the party to reinvent its ideology. They believe that the Congress party suffered humiliation in successive Lok Sabha elections, and many other state elections because they primarily deviated from its original doctrine. The Congress was always considered to be a secular outfit, and its apparently perceived tilt towards the minorities has resulted in the BJP—its main adversary—gaining an upper hand.

It is believed that the decline of the party started during the tenure of Sonia Gandhi as the party chief when she virtually outsourced the Congress to a handful of her advisers, who took arbitrary decisions which proved disastrous to the overall interests of the organisation. The general belief is that Sonia Gandhi is a major hurdle in Rahul’s political journey, as it were her advisers, who always had their way at his expense.

Rahul Gandhi had put some hard work lately but lost all the political capital thanks to his one gaffe or the other, which prevented him from being taken as a serious political player. The recent gaffe where he had asked the youth to hit the Prime Minister with a “danda”, pulls him down further as this kind of political idiom and language is least expected from the Nehru-Gandhis, who are viewed as leaders with political pedigree, given their illustrious background.

Rahul and Priyanka both campaigned in the Delhi polls but failed to connect with the voters of the Delhi. In fact, they did not even highlight the fact that Indira Gandhi’s mother, Kamala Nehru hailed from Bazaar Sita Ram. Instead, the brother and sister duo focussed on issues that did not have any resonance with the masses, who had already made up their mind to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In fact, the low morale was evident in the party during the elections as the party workers did not even comment when a BJP leader referred to their father as Rajiv Feroze Khan. Nobody in the Congress came forward to either defend the former Prime Minister and put the record straight or condemn the remark. The general feeling was that their shielding Rajiv did not matter so far as its current leadership goes, but they would have been targeted by the BJP for doing so.

The Congress seems to have not learnt any lessons from the 2014 and 2019 outcome, as Sharmistha Mukherjee, daughter of former President Pranab Mukherjee, put it, that time was long over for further introspection as it was “the time to act”. She also cautioned former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, for hailing the AAP victory since the BJP had been humbled. The underlying question of the workers is, when would the day come when Congress would celebrate its own successes?

The Sunday Guardian further reported that top party leaders have been wanting Sonia Gandhi to understand that more than Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra could have enhanced acceptability in the party. However, what has made matters complex is that within the family there is absolute discord so far as succession is concerned.

Interestingly Sonia Gandhi wants Rahul to lead but does not want to give him a free hand. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi believes that he is rather knowledgeable and continues to be guided by inexperienced aides. However, Priyanka Gandhi’s politics is focused on what her husband, Robert Vadra, wants her to do. Priyanka Gandhi largely toes the line of her husband Robert Vadra, who is an accused in several corruption cases. This scenario has contributed to the disillusionment of the workers.

The present Congress has no resemblance with the Congress headed by Indira Gandhi and subsequently by Rajiv Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao. Senior party leader and adviser to both Indira and Rajiv Gandhi, Makhan Lal Fotedar had predicted in his 2016 book, that the party had reached a ‘cul-de-sac’, meaning Congress under the Gandhis holds no future. This sentiment perhaps was also felt by Rahul in 2019 though he could now be having second thoughts.

Reportedly, senior party leaders have also been reluctant to openly come out against the Gandhis, but believe that best recourse for reviving the Congress should be to take certain harsh yet practical political measures.

No matter whatever shape the Congress takes in the future, the general consensus amongst workers is, that the Nehru-Gandhis should take a political sabbatical. At this stage, they can no longer reap dividends for the party and, thus, at least for some time they should take a back seat.

Jamia alumni alleges Jamia Coordination Committee members attacked, threatened her of kidnapping for shooting videos, complaint registered

A complaint has been registered at Jamia Nagar police station by Jamia alumni Seema Rizvi against some members of Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC) after they attacked and threatened to kidnap her daughter for posting videos of anti-CAA protests on her Facebook account. She has now taken down those videos.

Reportedly, Seema Rizvi has registered a complaint on February 4 (a copy of which is with OpIndia) alleging that a mob consisting of several members of the JCC had accused her of being of an RSS worker and attacked her at Jamia campus during one of the anti-CAA protests. Rizvi alleged that she was issued death threats, harassment after the Muslim mobs assaulted her and asked her to delete the videos she had captured.

“I was returning home after visiting the protest at gate no.7 near the Jamia Mosque, I was attacked by a couple of people who claimed that I was a member of the RSS because of some videos I had posted online from my account and they repeatedly asked me to delete that videos as they assaulted me,” stated the complaint.

Rizvi further alleged that she was dragged to a room inside the Jamia university and locked her inside the room, where the mob threatened and beat her up. She also said that the mob consisting of JCC members also threatened to kill her if they ever saw her near the protest site. “They also threatened to do things to my 10-year-old daughter. They continuously pulled my hair. They threatened to kidnap,” Rizvi stated in her complaint.

JCC is an unofficial body of Jamia students actively working with Jamia alumni which was formed on 16th December, a day after the police crackdown on anti-CAA rioters in Jamia Nagar near Jamia Millia Islamia. The JCC has been coordinating the anti-CAA protests around JMI and also at Shaheen Bagh, Khureji and other sites.

Seema Rizvi has named some JCC members – Safoor Zarfar, Gohae Aysha Ansari, Saif-ul-Islam, Salim Umar, Md Gaffar Khan, Abu Darda Khan and Entemaam, who allegedly threatened and attacked her near Jamia campus on February 4.

The Jamia Nagar police station has now registered a case against mob including JCC members who attacked her under IPC sections 342, 354, 323, 506, 509 and 34.

Following the passing of Citizenship Amendment Act, anti-CAA protests in the national capital in Jamia Nagar turned violent where Delhi Police had to enter the campus flush out rioters.

AAP ka Mor – How this Kejriwal fan dressed up as peacock is ‘winning’ the Internet

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal is swearing in as the third time Chief Minister of Delhi today. His supporters are not leaving any stone unturned to show happy they are. One of the supporters today came dressed as a peacock to the swearing in ceremony.

The AAP fan dressed up as peacock had Kejriwal’s photo in place where a colourful feather of the peacock would be in a real peacock. The AAP fan in peacock costume also sways a little with the ‘Kejriwal feathers’ behind him shaking out of sheer joy.

The AAP fan now has his own separate fanbase as seen from the reactions it got on Twitter. Twitterati had suggestion on how other AAP fans could metamorphose into peacocks themselves.

Some wondered if it is former AAP leader Ashutosh who has come dressed up in a new avatar.

Netizens wondered if he’s a TikTok star.

Some chose to look at the positive side of things.

Pun intended.

Some couldn’t get their heads around it. (Bawasir is piles in Hindi)

In the recently concluded Delhi elections, AAP won with a landslide victory, managing to win 62 out of 70 Assembly seats. Amusingly, despite making promises on women empowerment and women safety, not a single woman MLA has been included in the newly formed Delhi cabinet.

A 28 year old engineer from Gurugram who had allegedly flashed his genitals at a woman in Delhi metro has been arrested on Saturday. The official Twitter account of Delhi Metro issued a statement that the suspect was tracked using the phone number he had used for an online payment for his card.

On Wednesday, one Rashmi Singh Rana took to Twitter to narrate her ordeal where she alleged that a man had flashed his genitals at her inside the metro.

She narrated how the man allegedly suddenly turned to her and flashed his genitals at her before moving to other side of the coach to alight the metro.

The accused is 28-year-old Abhilash Kumar, a resident of sector 22 in Gurugram. He is a civil engineer and works in a private firm. The issue is currently under investigation by the police.

No women in Delhi cabinet as Arvind Kejriwal takes oath for the third time as Delhi Chief Minister

As Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal takes oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi for the third time, not a single woman MLA will swear in as the cabinet minister. On the eve of swearing-in ceremony, Delhi CM designate had hosted a dinner party for other cabinet members where women MLAs were conspicuously missing.

Atishi Marlena, the first time MLA who had also contested 2019 Lok Sabha elections from AAP ticket and lost to BJP’s Gautam Gambhir, will also not be part of the cabinet ministers swearing in today.

Netizens took to Twitter to question the newly elected Chief Minister about his doublespeak on women safety and women empowerment.

People even questioned the lack of women representatives.

This despite the fact that surveys suggest that women had overwhelmingly voted for AAP in these election. A poll-survey carried out by Lokniti-CSDS for Indian Express, about 60% women voted for AAP.

In the landslide victory, AAP won 62 out of 70 seats in Delhi Assembly. 8 of these seats are won by women. AAP has claimed that Atishi Marlena has been instrumental in bringing a change in Delhi’s education policy over the years. However, even then, Marlena has not been included in the cabinet.

Congress leader Udit Raj triggers row by blaming BJP for Pulwama Attack, says another Pulwama like attack may happen before 2024 elections

Congress leader from Delhi Udit Raj has triggered a controversy by blaming the BJP for the Pulwama attacks. Raj also backed his party’s former president Rahul Gandhi who had asked ‘who benefitted by Pulwama attack?’ on the first anniversary of the deadly attack on a CRPF convoy last year.

In a series of tweets, Udit Raj blamed the centre for the Pulwama attack and alleged that they did it for electoral gains ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He also said that another Pulwama attack may happen before 2024 general elections, implying that BJP may trigger such an attack for electoral benefit.

He asked on Twitter why the CRPF jawans were sent through road and not by air and if the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had, in any way, known from prior that this could happen.

In one of his tweets, Udit Raj said that BJP had gone out on a candle march across India, which was the work of the Opposition, but it was done by the ruling party. Holding BJP responsible for the Pulwama attack, Udit Raj tweeted that opposition had to question BJP as they had questioned Congress after 26/11.

In one of his tweets, he attacked and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he is responsible for Gujrat riots and citing that Pulwama kind of attacks can happen in the country in the future.

Udit raj is a spokesperson of the Indian National Congress who had earlier left BJP after he was rejected a ticket for contesting General elections.

Pulwama attack was a massive explosion carried out by an attacker in Pulwama on 14 February 2014 which took the lives of 40 CRPF jawans. Congress left no stone unturned in terming the attack as the center’s tactic to win general elections and also questioned the retaliation of Indian Air Force’s Balakot strike.
