Uttar Pradesh: Humiliated by Priyanka Gandhi, Congress leaders and other office-bearers quit the party

Cracks within the Congress party have emerged as the district unit president of Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh along with some other office bearers resigned from the party on Saturday, alleging humiliation by AICC general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, after they approached her with a complaint regarding a candidate.

The district unit president, Neelam Misra while speaking to newspersons confirmed, “A complaint was made to Priyanka Gandhi about Congress candidate Ramakant Yadav not coordinating with anyone in the unit Friday and she was also told that none of the office bearers was invited for a rally here.”

Priyanka Gandhi had addressed an election rally in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh on May 10, to support Congress party candidate, Ramakant Yadav, representing the Bhadohi constituency in the progressing Lok Sabha elections.

Misra alleged that Priyanka Gandhi not only ignored the grievance of the party workers but also used “strong words” against her publicly. Misra, along with other office bearers approached Priyanka Gandhi with their complaints, as she is the Congress’s eastern Uttar Pradesh in-charge. However, the district unit president said that “the AICC general secretary paid no heed and said if they are feeling humiliated over this then they can continue to feel this way,” claimed Misra.

Neelam Misra, meanwhile, also confirmed to support Rangnath Misra, the joint candidate of the SP-BSP alliance for the election slated for May 12.

When contacted, district vice president of the Congress Mushir Iqbal said Neelam Misra and others have taken this step in “haste” and that they should have waited for the elections to be over.

This is however not the first instance where the Congress leaders have resigned citing their bosses arrogance and indifference towards its members as the reason for the same. Previously too, the arrogance spread out by the current generation dynasts have forced other senior members to abandon the party.

Congress members have abandoned the grand old party saying that their perception and emotions do not matter for the party supremos.

While, Priyanka Chaturvedi, one of the most vocal spokespersons of the Congress party has tendered her resignation recently from all party posts and even the primary membership of the party saying that her self respect was being compromised, the former chief minister of Maharashtra and a fellow Congress party worker, Ashok Chavan had in an unverified audio tape expressed his desire to quit the Congress party as his views were no longer been respected by the party.

West Bengal marred with violence in the 6th phase of elections, one BJP, one TMC worker found dead while two other BJP workers shot at

Violence in West Bengal has been a constant this election season. Like the previous, the 6th phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections taking place Sunday has already witnessed incidents of violence in the state. One BJP worker and a Trinamool Congress worker were found dead in different parts of West Bengal. Raman Singh was found dead the night before Jhargram went to polls on Sunday.

The body of a Trinamool worker was found in Kanthi’s Maehara area on Sunday morning. The area comes under the Contai Lok Sabha seat.

In another separate incident, two BJP workers were shot at in Bhagabanpur of East Medinipur. Ananta Guchait and Ranjit Maity are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

BJP’ Raman Singh’s body has been sent for post mortem and a probe has been ordered. The BJP has alleged he was attacked by Trinamool workers. However, after the preliminary investigation, the local police say there are no injury marks on him. They say he suffered a seizure, which caused his death.

Meanwhile, the Trinamool worker who was found dead in Contai has been identified as Sudhakar Maiti. According to sources, he was visiting a sick relative at the Kanthi Sub-Divisional Hospital on Saturday night after which he went missing.

Around 10:30 pm, the police were informed that Maiti has been brought to the same hospital. However, the doctor declared him brought dead. Though he was an active Left member, he had recently moved towards the ruling Trinamool Congress. Police have started a probe into the incident.

Eight seats in West Bengal, namely Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Bishnupur, are voting in the 6th phase of the Lok Sabha election on Sunday.

Shockingly, such violence continues even though the strength of paramilitary personnel in the state goes up to 750 companies or 75,000.

Sporadic incidents of similar violence were reported in the previous five phases in different parts of West Bengal.

A BJP worker named Prashant Sharma was brutally beaten up by some unidentified people in Frasor Road during phase 5 of the ongoing elections. Similarly, BJP candidate from Barrackpore, Arjun Singh, was reportedly attacked by goons associated with the Trinamool Congress. BJP District President in Hooghly, Pranab Mondal Saha, had alleged that he was thrashed by Trinamool goons while he was on his way to meet a fellow member of the party Khokon Biswas.

Moreover, there were reports of massive violence from Asansol in the fourth phase of elections. Crude bombs had been found at a polling booth in Krishnanagar, West Bengal and also bombs have been recovered from a polling booth in Santipur, Nadia district.

Threats, intimidations, bomb attacks, proxy voting have also been recorded in some of the Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal during the third phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Similarly, TMC workers had clashed with BJP workers inside a polling booth in Chopra, Darjeeling.

Incidentally, the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls was no different for West Bengal, Where elections are often greeted with violent skirmishes and clashes between competing parties. Violence and rampant polling malpractice were reported from Cooch Behar and Alipurduar, that had gone to polls in the first phase of the elections.

Sadhvi Pragya, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli cast their votes, violence continues in Bengal in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections

As the voting for the sixth phase of elections is underway, Sadhvi Pragya, BJP candidate from Bhopal and Gautam Gambhir, BJP candidate for East Delhi were among the first to cast their votes. Gambhir is fighting it against AAP’s Atishi Marlena while Sadhvi Pragya is contesting against veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli was also amongst the first ones to cast his vote in Gurugram, Haryana. Congress leader Ajay Maken also cast his vote in Delhi. Ajay Maken had been a very vocal supporter of AAP-Congress alliance in Delhi and had even gone to the extent of saying that without the alliance, the Congress cannot win ‘all seven seats’ in Delhi.

Meanwhile, violence continues in West Bengal even in the sixth phase of polling. BJP worker Raman Singh was found dead in Jhargram, West Bengal last night. Two BJP workers Ananta Guchait and Ranjit Maity were reportedly shot at in Bhagabanpur in East Medinipur. Both are injured and are currently undergoing treatment in hospital.

59 constituencies in seven states of India are voting today. Several political bigwigs like Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav, former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Maneka Gandhi will have their fates decided today.

All you need to know about Phase 6 of Lok Sabha Elections 2019

Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Elections are being conducted on today. 8 seats in Bihar, all 7 seats in Delhi, all 10 in Haryana, 4 in Jharkhand, 8 in Madhya Pradesh, 14 in Uttar Pradesh and 8 in West Bengal are going to polls in the penultimate phase of the 17th General Elections. The fate of 59 constituencies will be decided by the voters on Sunday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had performed very well in these seats in 2014. They had made a clean sweep of Delhi, won 7 of the 8 in Bihar and won 7 in Haryana. In MP, BJP won 7 of the 8 seats going to polls on Sunday and all the four in Jharkhand. Again, in Uttar Pradesh, it won 12 of the 14 while in West Bengal, all the seats went to Trinamool. Thus, the party managed to secure 44 of the 59 seats that went to polls. If the BJP is to repeat its performance from 2014, then it has to win at least the same number of seats from this phase as well.

Key Battles

The 6th phase of the elections will see some extremely key individual battles. Here, we look at some of them.

1. Gautam Gambhir vs Atishi Marlena

Gautam Gambhir goes up against Atishi Marlena from the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday from East Delhi. The battle has turned ugly in recent times with the Aam Aadmi Party candidate and her comrades accusing the former cricketer of distributing pamphlets containing slanderous and vulgar content against her.

Gambhir has firmly denied these allegations and sent a defamation notice to the individuals concerned. He has also asserted that he would quit politics if the allegations are proven to be true. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sent Gambhir a defamation notice of his for saying that he is ashamed of having Kejriwal as the CM of Delhi.

Under such circumstances, the individual battle has assumed a significance of its own. While Gambhir does appear to have the upper edge, the allegations could very well affect his chances.

2. Sadhvi Pragya vs Digvijay Singh

One of the most hyped up battles of 2019 will be played out in Bhopal. On one hand, we have Sadhvi Pragya, widely believed to be a victim of the UPA’s ‘Hindu Terror’ initiative, and on the other, we have Digvijay Singh from the Congress party who attended the launch of a book that blamed the RSS for the Mumbai Terror Attack.

While the entire secular-liberal camp (SecLib) camp has been up in arms against the Sadhvi’s candidature, the Prime Minister and his party have strongly defended her nomination. The Battle for Bhopal may be one between constituencies but it has several civilizational connotations.

Sadhvi Pragya was subjected to great abuse and torture while in captivity and her victory will be symbolic of the Hindu resurgence that Narendra Modi represents and is a product of.

3. Akhilesh Yadav vs Nirahua

An interesting battle has been panning out in the Samajwadi Party bastion of Azamgarh. Akhilesh Yadav will contest from the seat that was won by his father, Mulayam, in 2014. His primary opponent this time is Bhojpuri Superstar Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ from the BJP.

While pundits give Akhilesh a distinct advantage, Nirahua has been drawing in huge crowds at his rallies. The BJP candidate enjoys great popularity among the youth and those in the middle-income category. Thus, his candidature is believed by many to be a political masterstroke by the saffron party.

Interestingly enough, Nirahua was conferred with Uttar Pradesh’s prestigious Yash Bharti award by Akhilesh Yadav in 2016. Three years later, they are sworn political foes.

4. Manoj Tiwari vs Sheila Dixit

The Bhojpuri Superstar goes against the three-time Delhi CM Sheila Dixit from the Congress party and Dilip Pandey from the Aam Aadmi Party in a triangular contest in North East Delhi. Tiwari enjoys great popularity and is expected to retain the seat.

In 2014, Tiwari had secured over 45% of the votes. Since it’s a triangular contest yet again and Narendra Modi’s popularity remains extremely high in the national capital, he is expected to pull through yet again although the Congress party has fielded a heavyweight this time around.

5. Other high profile candidates in the fray

Jyotiraditya Scindia is contesting from Guna, a Congress stronghold, and only one of the two seats the party had managed to secure in 2014. Maneka Gandhi is up for election from Sultanpur, the seat won by her son Feroze Varun Gandhi in 2014 with a vote-share of over 42%, and is expected to retain the seat for the BJP. Rita Bahuguna Joshi will be contesting from Allahabad, a seat that was won by the BJP with a victory margin of 62,000 in 2014. Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be contesting from Rohtak against Ramesh Chander Kaushik from the BJP.

Mamata Banerjee’s bizarre comment about Modi: ‘I said I will give slap of democracy, your chest is 56 inch, how can I slap you?’

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has come out to clarify her ‘slap of democracy’ statement about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She explained by ‘slapping’ she did not mean slapping the Prime Minister literally.

Ahead of the 6th phase of polling, Banerjee while speaking at Purulia said “I didn’t say that I will slap you (PM Modi) literally, I said I will give slap of democracy. Why would I slap you? If I slap you, my hand will break, then why should I? Your chest is 56 inch, how can I slap you? I don’t want to slap or touch you”.

In response, Modi had termed her ‘slap of democracy’ statement a blessing. “Mai to apko didi kehta hu. Apka aadar karta hu. Aapka thappad bhi mere liye to ashirwad ban jaega (I call you didi. I respect you. Your slap will also become a blessing for me)”, he had said.

West Bengal politics might be going through a tectonic shift as BJP is making massive inroads into the state during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. A rattled Mamata Banerjee had earlier got out of her car to chastise people chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ as her convoy passed. She said that she was being abused.

According to CVoter, in West Bengal, where BJP has traditionally had no base whatsoever and many pollsters believe is poised to bag 15 to 18 seats this time around, 51.21% of people prefer PM Modi as the Prime Minister as opposed to 14.18% for Mamata Banerjee and 27.24% for Rahul Gandhi.

Mamata Banerjee has made several bizarre comments lately. Recently, while talking about Lord Ram and the 2019 general elections, she said ‘Lord Ram says Sita Maiya, Sita Maiya’. Earlier she had strangely compared illegal immigrants to Hilsa and Sondesh. She had also said that BJP scheduled the elections during peak summers deliberately as it would benefit Prime Minister Modi.

PM Modi says Congress was afraid that Alwar gang rape case would impact votes, calls out the deafening silence of ‘activists’

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party on 11th May 2019, for hushing up the gang-rape of a Dalit woman in Alwar district of Rajasthan. Earlier, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati had slammed Congress for the delay in police action against the gang-rape accused. Modi alleged that instead of nabbing the culprits, the Rajasthan government was trying to smother the action against them.

Addressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur, Modi accused the state government and police machinery in Rajasthan of suppressing the gang-rape incident. He said the Congress government in the state was apprehensive of losing their vote-share due to this incident. Taking a jibe at the candlelight ‘activists’, Modi questioned the conspicuous silence of activists who otherwise display great alacrity in carrying out marches. “I would like to know where’s the award-wapsi gang now, I would like to ask them, why is the gang silent now?” he asked.

Earlier, BSP supremo Mayawati had urged the Supreme Court to act against the Rajasthan government and police for delaying action against the rape offenders. Mayawati had also appealed that capital punishment must be granted to these to culprits.

The video clip of the Dalit woman who was gang-raped in Alwar on April 26, 2019, was circulated by her attackers, triggering massive outrage and protests across the state. The police, which was informed of the rape on April 30 delayed filing the FIR until May 7, 2019, her husband alleged. It is pertinent to mention that elections in the state were held on May 6, 2019.

This case has attracted the attention of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, which has demanded that criminal case be filed against the police officers who allegedly delayed acting on the woman’s complaint.

Sikh community protests outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence, demand Pitroda’s ouster

The “Hua to Hua,” (happened, so what?) remark by the Indian Overseas Congress Chairman Sam Pitroda has enraged the Sikh community triggering protests outside the Congress headquarters in Delhi.

As per reports, a large number of Sikhs under the leadership of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) had organized a protest on Friday near the residence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi against Pitroda’s callous statement. They even sought ouster of Pitroda over the remarks.

In a statement recently, Pitroda had casually brushed aside the 1984-Sikh genocide and has since received the ire of people and politicians alike.

According to a report by Republic, his remark was insulting and hurtful to the victims of the Sikh genocide and their families who have been struggling to bring the guilty to books. It has not gone down well with the Sikh community.

Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, Delhi BJP spokesperson filed a police complaint at Parliament Street Police Station today against Pitroda for his indifferent statement.

In an attempt to pin down Prime Minister Modi and his government, Pitroda had shrugged off the ghastly 1984 massacre and compared it to the present government’s five-year tenure.

“Ab kya hai ’84 ka? Aapne kya kiya 5 saal mein, uski baat kariye. ’84 mein hua to hua. Aapne kya kiya? (now what about ’84? What did you do in 5 years, talk about that. What happened in ’84 had happened. What did you do?) You were voted to create jobs. You were voted to create 200 smart cities. Aapne wo bhi nahi kiya. Aapne kuch nahi kiya isliye aap yahan wahan gup lagate hain (you didn’t do that also. You didn’t do anything hence you are talking here and there),” he said.

Embarrassed by the outrage created by Pitroda’s prejudicial remark, Rahul Gandhi had to issue an official statement to distance himself and his party from the ‘personal’ remarks. Gandhi had termed his remarks as “completely out of line” and had urged for Pitroda to apologize.

Pitroda’s insensitive remark has not only rattled the Congress part buy also the left-leaning Lutyen ecosystem. Recently, we had reported how journalists who claim neutrality had jumped in his defense with handy bits of advice.

Sad that after 60-70 years after Independence, we are still trying to improve the system: SC on cash seized during elections

The Supreme Court (SC) has expressed its concern over the lack of a stringent mechanism for state-wise tracking of the cash seized during elections. India’s apex court expressed its worry about the matter and said these loopholes allow the candidates who sponsor cash during elections to walk scot-free.

According to a report published by DNA, the observation was made by the SC on Friday. The report pointed out to a case in Karnataka, where a businessman who was caught with unaccounted cash by the Election Commission (EC), was acquitted by the Karnataka High Court (HC).

The bench comprising Justice N V Ramana J and Justice Mohan M Shantanagouder during the hearing of the case questioned the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and the Ministry of Finance about the mechanism to deal with cash seizures by the EC. The bench asked if any case ends up in the prosecution by tracking the source of the illegal money.

In answer to the query, the Income Tax (I-T) authorities informed the bench that there is no provision to account money seized during elections under a separate election or non-election category. The authorities also apprised the court that until 2014, cash seized during elections was released to the Treasury due to the absence of a mechanism to collect data from states to pursue a case individually.

Expressing its displeasure, the bench observed that even after 60-70 years of independence the system still needed improvement. “That is why people who spend loads of money during elections are not worried as only the money is lost, which can be recovered after elections are won. It is sad that after 60-70 years after Independence, we are still trying to improve the system.”

Senior Advocate R Balasubramanium appearing on behalf of the CBDT informed the bench that a mechanism to deal with the menace was under process, the results of which would be evident after the ongoing Lok Sabha elections conclude.

The court directed the Center to submit the details of the extent to which the mechanism has been developed in August. At the same time, it allowed the States to file affidavits regarding the action being taken by them in such cases.

According to the data collected by the Election Commission, Rs 303 crore of unaccounted cash was seized during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The I-T Department has seized large amounts of unaccounted cash during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections as well.

A number of raids were conducted through April, during which unaccounted cash was seized. In a raid conducted at 35 locations connected with Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, cash stuffed in suitcases was recovered. An astonishing amount of 8 crore rupees was seized by the authorities from the North East region, the highest seizure so far from the region, in the month of April. Similarly, an amount of 4.3 crores was seized by the authorities during raids in Karnataka and Goa.

As reported earlier, the I-T department had carried out a series of raids on close aides of Janata Dal-Secular leaders in Mandya and Hassan districts of Karnataka ahead of the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

10 outlandish and asinine things that Rahul Gandhi said in his interview to NDTV’s Ravish Kumar

Ravish Kumar has interviewed Rahul Gandhi. The interview was so full of hot air and devoid of substance that it if it is filled inside a balloon, both Rahul and Ravish can fly around Delhi for a whole day.

The fact that Ravish Kumar has been suffering from a strange paranoia that has taken him to desperate levels in his hatred and fear against PM Modi is perhaps known to everyone. Rahul’s empty grandstanding and hollow statements are also common knowledge. However, when these two people unite, the result was so predictable that it was almost funny.

Ravish Kumar has been whining and literally exploding with frustration in his TV show complaining why does not the media ask tough questions to PM Modi. PM Modi has given over a dozen interviews in recent months and has answered each and every question that was thrown at him with a detailed explanation and a remarkable poise that is his forte.

However, when Ravish got hold of Rahul Gandhi, all he could ask was does Rahul get emotional when Modi slams his father, grandmother and great-grandfather and has the Congress defended Nehru enough.

These are the 10 most outlandish and asinine things Rahul said in his interview o Ravish Kumar.

  • PM Modi ignored and dismissed RBI’s ‘intelligence and experience’ when he banned 500 and 1000 rupees notes.

The need and effect of demonetisation have been extensively discussed. Rahul Gandhi should have realised long back that had the people of India been upset over the November 2016 demonetisation, they would never have given BJP overwhelming election victories in the assembly elections in several states that had followed. If anything, demonetisation was a thumping example of the fact that if a nation believes in the leader it has chosen, it would stand by him through all difficulties. If by RBI, Rahul Gandhi means the opinion of Raghuram Rajan, well, that is a whole different story in itself.

  • All citizens of the country have told me that they are scared of RSS’ ideology and there is some ‘strange power’ that is controlling the nation.

Well, Lutyen’s media and ecosystem durbaris do not represent India’s people. This statement makes Rahul only sound like Arundhati Roy and her ilk, who often cite their imaginary friends to claim Muslims are scared in India.

  • We will protect everyone, if even RSS members say that they are being attacked, we will help them too.

It was a Congress government in Karnataka where dozens of RSS leaders were brutally killed. RSS members have been killed and attacked in Kerala, West Bengal too. Congress had never bothered.

  • I have always stated that Manmohan Singh will run the government with full freedom and I will never interfere.

The torn fragments of ordnance scattered inside the parliament beg to differ. The National Advisory Council (NAC) begs to differ. The fact that Manmohan Singh’s prime ministership was Sonia Gandhi’s rule is something, not even Congress’ loyal journalists ever debate over.

  • I want to destroy Rahul Gandhi. I want to destroy the self and make sure that only the pain of a farmer remains, or something like that.

Rahul said that he does not want Rahul Gandhi’s name to remain. He wants to make sure that the name of Rahu Gandhi does not stay when he is talking to a poor farmer but only the voice of the farmer remains. He also said that he wants to make sure that when he is speaking to Ravish Kumar only Ravish Kumar’s voice is heard and his feelings are expressed.

While he was speaking about ‘destroying the self’, Rahul Gandhi said, “Rahul Gandhi” at least 9 times. Rahul Gandhi also cut Ravish off mid-sentence and insisted that he wants only Ravish’ voice to be heard, twice. Rahul Gandhi kept on saying that he wants to hear and understand others, without letting Ravish speak.

Rahul Gandhi is the irony that only Rahul Gandhi can understand. We give up.

  • We used an economic model that was started in the 1990s. It worked very well in 2004 and 2009. It was stopped in 2012. But Modi has picked up the same model. I want to connect the past with the future

For a person who has spent 5 years criticising Modi’s economic policies and screamed that Modi is leading the country into a dangerous path, this argument is a massive self-goal. And as far as connecting the past with the future is constant, Rahul Gandhi has been connecting MRIs and inventing potato to gold converters for years. The work speaks of itself.

  • PM Modi sleeps for 3 hours only but I speak to people and understand their problems. He sleeps for 3 hours only but when I invite for debates on Rafale, corruption, economics, GST, demonetisation etc, he doesn’t listen

Ravish had asked about Rahul’s holidays. Rahul skipped the ‘holiday’ part and alleged that the PM, despite being awake all night, does not keep his requests for debates. Rahul made no mention of the ‘holidays’, Ravish, being the fearless and Krantikari journalist that he is, did not ask about Rahul’s holiday again. Over the allegation of the PM not honouring Rahul’s request for night-time debates, well, let us not go there, this is a family website.

  • In 2004, there was rampant terrorism in the country. We took strategic steps and broke the backbone of terrorism. We isolated Pakistan on a global stage.

Hyderabad blasts had happened in Kuala Lumpur. Mumbai’s train bombings happened only in Bollywood movies. Terrorist blasts in Jaipur, Delhi, Bengaluru, Delhi again, Ahmedabad, Imphal, Agartala and the 26/11 attacks that happened in 2008 alone had never even happened, as per Rahul Gandhi, because he was busy making ‘strategy’ with Manmohan Singh.

  • Election Commission is partial towards Narendra Modi, He is getting away with everything by pressurizing the EC and others are getting punished.

Right. Narendra Modi has pressurized the Election Commission into banning the BJP CM of Uttar Pradesh, the most politically crucial state and Sadhvi Pragya against campaigning over MCC violations because not getting himself banned but getting his star campaigners banned will benefit him. This logic needs the escape velocity of Jupiter to fly.

  • Urban India cannot function without public healthcare system and a public education system.

Wow, what a revelation. Why has no other politician ever thought of it before? Rahul Gandhi should be given a Nobel Prize for this phenomenal, futuristic, insightful idea immediately.

Rahul Gandhi is a legend. Ravish Kumar is a legend too. Their meeting and discussing the things they discussed must have been destiny. The ‘interview’ that sounded more like Ravish Kumar memorising the Congress manifesto and showing off before the Congress president how well he can regurgitate their manifesto must be a class study in Pidi training.

Arvind Kejriwal sends legal notice to Gautam Gambhir for saying ‘I feel ashamed to have a CM like Arvind Kejriwal’

If making unsubstantiated claims against cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir wasn’t enough, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has now sent a legal notice to the BJP candidate from East Delhi for his tweet “I am ashamed of my CM Arvind Kejriwal.” Through the notice, AAP has sought an immediate apology from Gambhir for his tweets and publishing of his apology on his social media account within 24 hours.

A few days back AAP had convened a press conference to level serious allegations against Gautam Gambhir, accusing him of distributing derogatory pamphlets that contained obscene remarks for her opponent Atishi Marlena. Gambhir had, however, vehemently denied having any connection with the pamphlets.

In response to the slanderous allegations levelled against him by the AAP leadership, Gambhir tweeted that he is ashamed of having a CM like Arvind Kejriwal. He also challenged Kejriwal that if he can furnish evidence proving his links with the derogatory pamphlets, he’d instantly quit politics. However, if he couldn’t, will Kejriwal quit the politics, Gambhir asked.

Gambhir also expressed his shock over Kejriwal’s alleged act of outraging the modesty of his own colleague in order to win elections. Gambhir tweeted addressing Kejriwal as filth and suggested that someone needs to use AAP’s election symbol ‘Broom’ to clean his dirty mind.

Gambhir had also filed a defamation suit against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodiya and AAP candidate from East Delhi Atishi Marlena for levelling baseless allegations against him with regards to circulation of defamatory pamphlets. The BJP leader has further demanded an unconditional and unqualified apology for defaming him with the false and baseless allegations.

It is noteworthy to mention that Kejriwal has often used unparliamentary language and made unfounded allegations against his political adversaries. Recently, in interaction with propagandist Kunal Kamra, Kejriwal had likened PM Modi to a tumour which needs to be eliminated. In the past, he had also called PM Modi a ‘psychopath.

A few months back Kejriwal was on an apology spree as he couldn’t prove the allegations made by him against various politicians. He offered an unconditional apology to Congress’ Kapil Sibal, Union Minister Arun Jaitley and Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Tendering an apology to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Arvind Kejriwal wrote, “I made certain statements, without regard to its verifiability, which seem to have hurt you. I have nothing personal against you. I regret the same. Let us put the incident behind us and bring the court proceedings to a closure.”
