UP: Dalit woman raped and forcibly converted to Islam in Gonda, accused Taj Mohammed arrested

Police in Gonda in Uttar Pradesh have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 25-year-old Dalit woman on the pretext of marriage and forcing her to convert to Islam. The accused has been identified as Taj Mohammed, who raped the woman last year and then continued to threaten her.

The accused was arrested after the victim woman filed a complaint against him with the police. She said that he raped her on the pretext of marriage, and then forcibly converted her to Islam.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Manoj Kumar Rawat said, “The woman in her complaint has accused one Taj Mohammed for raping her on pretext of marriage and converting her to Islam forcibly.”

As per the ASP, after Taj Mohammed raped the Dalit woman last year, he continued to threaten her with violence consequences if she tells anyone about the incident. He also hurled casteist slurs at her.

The police have booked Taj Mohammed under various charges like the rape charge under IPC (section 376), along with the relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and UP Anti-Conversion law.

The ASP said, “We have arrested the accused and initiated investigation into the matter.”

“Bomb-making rampant, many vacant houses hub of it”: Kannur woman makes shocking revelation as opposition slam CPI(M) govt over rampant blasts in Kerala

On Wednesday (19th June), a day after an elderly man lost his life in a blast, a woman from CPI(M)’s stronghold Kannur, made shocking revelations. She claimed that bomb-making is rampant in this region and many vacant houses are acting as its hub. She also alleged that CPI(M) workers take bombs from these houses.

Additionally, the opposition parties including BJP and Congress-led UDF slammed the CPI(M) government in the state and charged it with turning bomb-making into a cottage industry. They accused the state government and the CM of inaction as well as harbouring anti-social elements.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in the state assembly, admitted that there have been repeated incidents of bomb blasts in some areas of the northern district of Kannur. He, however, said that the police would conduct more vigorous investigations there and refuted the opposition’s allegations against his party and government.

Woman breaks silence after an elderly neigbour lost his life in blast while picking coconuts

Notably, the woman resides in the same neighbourhood where an elderly man lost his life in a blast near Thalassery in the Kannur district when he had gone to collect coconuts. According to police, the elderly man, Velayudhan, died on Tuesday (18th June) when he picked up and tried to open the bomb which he found on an uninhabited property in the area.

The woman stated that locals have remained silent for a long time as they fear for their lives. According to her, anyone who speaks about this faces a risk of getting their homes bombed and destroyed by these individuals.

As per reports, while the woman was making shocking revelations against CPI(M) workers, her mother was seen trying to stop her. But she asked her mother how long they could tolerate it.

The woman said, “Bomb-making is rampant here. Many vacant houses are hubs of bomb-making. The other day only some party workers took three bombs from the nearby house. The people here did not speak against it owing to fear of being attacked. Now an innocent elderly man got killed. Tomorrow it can happen to any of us. Our children used to play at all these places. Kindly allow us to lead a peaceful life. It is our right. We don’t want to get killed in an explosion.”

Showdown in Kerala assembly over recent bomb blast

On Wednesday, a major showdown took place in the Kerala assembly as the opposition launched scathing attacks on the CPI(M)-led state government and accused it of the explosion on Tuesday.

The Congress party alleged that illegal crude bomb-making units were functioning like cottage industries in CPI(M)’s stronghold of Kannur. CPI(M) is funding it and it is happening with the blessings of the chief minister.

“It’s an open secret that in the area where this incident happened, two factions who were CPI (M) supporters were at loggerheads. They were planning to attack each other, and unfortunately, the senior citizen fell victim to it. The CM is trying to whitewash the whole incident,” said VD Satheesan who is the Leader of Opposition in the Kerala assembly.

Satheesan added that the CPI(M) is even setting up memorials for those killed during bomb-making.

CPI(M) harbouring influential criminals and their alleged involvement in bomb-making: BJP state President K Surendran

Addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, BJP state president K Surendran alleged that a comprehensive probe should be conducted into the recent explosion. He said that CPI(M)’s involvement in bomb-making in the Kannur region is very evident.

He asserted that the CPM district committee and area committee were well-informed about the bomb blast incident in Kannur’s Eranholi. He further alleged that the responsibility for bomb-making lies with top leaders of the party.

Surendran argued the CPI(M) was going through a tough time in the state after its debacle in the recent Lok Sabha polls. He said that the inner conflicts in the party and strong displeasure (among cadres) against the leadership’s corruption are also haunting the Marxist party.

The BJP state President said, “So, we doubt whether the party leadership itself is deliberately masterminding such activities and trying to push Kannur into a tense atmosphere like in the past through violence and bomb explosions.”

He further alleged that influential criminals in Kannur are transitioning from conflict to gold trading. He accused the CPM of leveraging its influence for red brick mining, aiming to revert Kannur to a state of lawlessness.

Nonetheless, earlier in April, a CPI(M) worker was killed and two others suffered serious injuries during an explosion at a crude bomb-making unit at Panoor near Thalassery.

Union Cabinet approves ₹76,220-crore greenfield, deep-draft major port at Vadhavan in Maharashtra, to be among top 10 ports in the world

Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved setting up a major port at Vadhavan near Dahanu in Maharashtra.

The project will be constructed by Vadhavan Port Project Limited (VPPL), an SPV formed by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) with a shareholding of 74 per cent and 26 per cent, respectively. The Vadhavan Port will be developed as an all-weather greenfield deep draft major port in Vadhavan in Palghar district of Maharashtra.

Briefing reporters after a meeting of the union cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister said the all-weather Greenfield deep-draft Major Port at Vadhavan will be an integral part of the IMEEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor).

“It will be constructed by the joint venture of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and Maharashtra Maritime Board… It will be one of the top 10 ports in the world,” he said.

An official release said that the total project cost, including the land acquisition component, is Rs. 76,220 crore.

This will include the development of core infrastructure, terminals and other commercial infrastructure in a public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

The cabinet also approved establishing road connectivity between the port and national highways by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and rail linkage to the existing rail network and the upcoming Dedicated Rail Freight Corridor by the Railways Ministry.

The port will comprise nine container terminals, each 1000 metres long, four multipurpose berths, including the coastal berth, four liquid cargo berths, a Ro-Ro berth, and a Coast Guard berth.

The project involves the reclamation of 1,448 hectares of area in the sea and the construction of 10.14 km of offshore breakwater and container/cargo storage areas.

The project will create a cumulative capacity of 298 million metric tonnes (MMT) per year, including around 23.2 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalents) of container handling capacity.

The release said that the capacities created will also aid EXIM trade flow through the IMEEC (India Middle East Europe Economic Corridor) and INSTC (International North South Transportation Corridor).

“The world-class maritime terminal facilities promote public-private partnerships (PPP) and leverage efficiencies and modern technologies to create a state-of-the-art terminals capable of handling mainline megavessels plying on international shipping lines between the Far East, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Vadhavan Port, on completion, will be one of the top ten ports in the world,” the release said.

It said the Project, aligned with the objectives of the PM Gati Shakti programme, will add to further economic activity and also have the potential for direct and indirect employment opportunities for around 10 lakh individuals, thereby contributing to the local economy.

Galwan-like clashes at sea? Armed Chinese Coast Guard clash with Philippines Naval Guards in South China Sea, seizes weapons and equipment

A major Galwan-like violent confrontation took place in the South China Sea between the armed Chinese Navy and ‘unarmed’ Filipino Naval guards. The clashes occurred on Monday (17th June) near the Second Thomas Shoal, a major flashpoint in the disputed South China Sea. Notably, on Wednesday (19th June), the Philippine military charged China with “piracy” and stealing the firearms and equipment of its Naval guards. It demanded reparations from the Chinese side for the damages as well as the return of its seized weapons and equipment.

The military officials said that the Chinese coast guard rammed and boarded Filipino navy boats in a violent confrontation in which a Filipino sailor lost a thumb. Philippine officials said, “At least seven other Philippine sailors were also injured. Chinese ships later towed away two Philippine rubber dinghies after emptying them of their contents.”

The official added that they have videos of the Chinese threatening Filipino personnel with knives.

Filipino military chief General Romeo Brawner noted that it was the first time Chinese Coast Guards were seen carrying spears, knives, and bolos – a type of single-edged sword. He added that the Filipino troops did not have weapons on hand as their guns were disassembled and were in cases. The officials asserted that the Filipino crew on boats were under orders not to display their weapons.

After visiting the injured sailor in Palawan, Brawner said that Filipino personnel had “fought back with our bare hands” even after they were “outnumbered” by the eight-boat Chinese coast guard contingent.

Brawner said, “Despite this, our troops fought with their bare hands to push them away. They were preventing the Chinese Coast Guard from hitting them with their bolos, machetes, and other bladed weapons. I want to remove the impression that our soldiers let the CCG just steal and destroy our property.”

Regarding the Chinese Coast Guard, Brawner stated, “They took guns and other equipment, destroyed our equipment on board including the motors. They punctured our rigid-hulled inflatable boats.”

“For me, this is piracy already because they boarded our boats illegally, they got our equipment. Their actions were like that of pirates. We are demanding that the Chinese return our rifles and our equipment and we are also demanding from them to pay for the damages that they have caused,” he added.

What led to the clashes

Incidentally, the 17th June incident was the latest in a series of escalating confrontations between Chinese and Philippine ships in recent months. The development comes after Beijing has been brazenly pushing its claims in this region.

This incident happened just days after China started enforcing a domestic regulation that authorized its naval forces to detain ‘trespassers’ within its borders, including its expansive, unrecognized maritime claims in the South China Sea.

The confrontation on Monday occurred when Beijing tried to disrupt a routine Philippine resupply mission at its outpost on the shoal. The commander of the Philippines’ South China Sea forces, Rear Admiral Alfonso Torres said that Monday’s confrontation began when one of the Filipino boats was “illegally rammed” at “high speed” by a Chinese coast guard boat.

Speaking with reporters, he added that seven firearms were looted and forcibly taken by the Chinese coast guard. He said communication and navigation equipment and an outboard motor were destroyed and the mobile phones of the Filipino crew were taken.

The Philippine military said the seized guns were intended for Filipino troops manning the BRP Sierra Madre warship on the shoal.

Officials said that a Philippine sailor lost a finger when a Chinese dinghy (small boat) collided with a Philippine dinghy at high speed, hitting his hand that was caught in between the two vessels.

“No direct measures taken against Filipino personnel”: China defends its actions in South China Sea

Following the confrontation at the sea, China defended its actions on Wednesday (19th June) claiming that “no direct measures” were taken against Filipino personnel.

In a regular news briefing in Beijing, foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said, “Law enforcement measures taken by the China Coast Guard at the site were professional and restrained”.

China has deployed Coast Guard and other vessels to patrol the waters around the Second Thomas Shoal and has turned several reefs into artificial militarised islands. In recent months, it has intensified actions against Philippine vessels in the vicinity of the shoal.

The recent flashpoint, Second Thomas Shoal, is located approximately 200 kilometers from the western Philippine island of Palawan and over 1,000 kilometers from China’s nearest major landmass, Hainan Island. This shoal hosts a small Philippine garrison stationed on a deliberately grounded old warship and has been the site of numerous recent confrontations. Beijing claims nearly the entire South China Sea, disregarding competing claims from several Southeast Asian nations, including the Philippines, as well as an international ruling stating that its claims have no legal basis.

Despite flaring tensions, Philippines Military officials added that the Philippines “wants to prevent war.”

Meanwhile, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said that the death of a Filipino citizen within the West Philippine Sea could trigger the country’s Mutual Defense Treaty with the U.S., raising the stakes for brewing tensions between Manila and Beijing.

Galwan clash

On June 15, 2020, the Chinese troops had attacked the Indian troops along the LAC near the Ladakh border. The clashes had resulted in India losing 20 of its soldiers. China initially denied facing any casualties in the attack. However, after months of denial, China later acknowledged the loss of at least 5 of its soldiers, although independent reports suggested Beijing lost around 35-40 soldiers in the clashes.

Strikingly, similar to the South China Sea confrontations, the Chinese soldiers were armed with weapons like barbed wires while the Indian soldiers fought with bare hands and inflicted more casualties on the Chinese side.

The fallen Indian soldiers were honoured by the government and their last rites were performed in the presence of government representatives, accorded them the due status of martyrs. PM Modi and the COAS had also visited to meet and speak to the injured soldiers. China, on the other hand, went to great lengths to paper over the murky details of clashes lest it trigger a turn of domestic events out of Beijing’s control.

Demand of ₹100 crore bribe is established, large amounts paid in cash through hawala: ED opposes bail to Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi excise case

0

While opposing the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) argued that the demand of Rs 100 crore bribes is established.

We have established that the money went through hawala. The co-accused, Chanpreet Singh, who took the money, has established it, said the ED.

The ED also said that a large chunk of money was paid to AAP in cash. Money was paid for a 7-star hotel stay for Kejriwal by Chanpreet Singh, which is also established, ED added.

It is the case of CBI that he demanded a bribe for the AAP, ASG SV Raju for ED argued.

After hearing the part submissions of ED, the court adjourned the matter for hearing the further submissions tomorrow.

Vacation Judge Nyay Bindu of Rouse Avenue Court has listed the matter for tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The court is dealing with the regular bail application of Arvind Kejriwal.

Senior advocate Vikram Chaudhari argued for Kejriwal. He submitted that Kejriwal was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court.

Chaudhari argued that Kejriwal is not an accused in a scheduled offence. He has not been listed as an accused in the charge sheet and supplementary charge sheets filed by the CBI.

He also submitted that I (Kejriwal) am not claiming any special treatment as a CM but if a constitutional functionary has been called by the agency, my chair ought to be respected, the senior advocate argued.

The senior advocate submitted that he has challenged his arrest before the Supreme Court, was granted interim bail and surrendered after the expiration of the interim bail period.

He also raised objections about the timing of the arrest of Kejriwal by the ED.

“I (Kejriwal) have been in custody since March 21. Statements of witness were with the agency. The last statistic was recorded in August 2023. In October 2023, I was called by the agency, Chaudhari argued.

“I (Kejriwal) was arrested by the ED in March 2021. They could arrest me in November, December but why in March?” he questioned.

The conduct of ED is deprolable. He was arrested in March for weakening the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) before the general election, Kejriwal’s counsel said.

He is a mass popular leader, but I (Kejriwal) am not claiming any special status. If this could happen to a person holding a constitutional post, then what would happen to an ordinary man, senior counsel argued.

Kejriwal’s counsel once again pressed the point that he is not an accused in the CBI case. But he has been arrested in ED’s case.

It was also submitted that ED’s case was entirely based on the statements of approvers and circumstantial evidence.

The court asked how many approvers there are in this case. Senior Advocate Chaudhari said there are three approvers in this case.

Chaudhari said that the evidence is weak. He added that there are contradictions in the evidence.

The money trail is not established. Chaudhari referred to the statement of Magunta Reddy.

Chaudhari referred to the statement of Magunta Reddy and submitted that when Raghav Magunta was asked specifically about Kejriwal, he had said that he did not meet me in connection with excise policy. However, later on, he made a statement regarding Kejriwal, and thereafter, Raghav Magunta got interim bail. Later, he was granted pardon as well.

Chaudhari further argued that there is no evidence, like a camera recording or money as such, that has been exchanged. These are all in the form of statements.

“I will not be surprised if some more statements come to fill in the lacunae. This investigation is unending, it will continue till eternity. It is the biggest instrument of oppression,” Senior advocate argued.

The question is, how will my lord view the arrest of a sitting CM in a case that was going on for a year and a half before the arrest? Chaudhari added.

Sr. Advocate Chaudhari concluded by saying that Kejriwal was arrested before the election. Evidence against him is circumstantial. The statements given by the tainted persons. He has certain medical ailments.

While opposing the bail application, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) S. V. Raju said that the CBI’s investigation shows that Kejriwal asked for a bribe of Rs. 100 crore.

He also submitted that, at the time, Manish Sisodia, AAP, was not made an accused. This time, AAP has also been accused. The bail pleas of many accused have been dismissed.

Now the AAP has also been made an accused in this case. It is established that a bribe was paid. Kejriwal is the national convenor of AAP; therefore, he is liable for its conduct.

ASG referred to the remand order of K Kavitha. The court asked how this order is relevant in this matter

ASG said that it is relevant to show the role of Arvind Kejriwal. This shows that Kejriwal asked for funds for the party.

The court asked whether the Cognizance has been taken against the Kejriwal ASG and said that it was kept for order on July 9.

The court said that it requires a copy of the order for reference. The court said that the approver’s statement is not of much value, the accused is holding a constitutional post and he is not a habitual offender.

ASG Raju said that for granting bail in PMLA case, there should be reason to believe that he is not guilty of the PMLA offence.

It is a mandatory condition under PMLA. Whether he holds a constitutional post or is a CM is not important. It is important that whether the offence is made out or not, ASG argued.

ASG said that offence of money laundering can be committed by a person who is not an accused in the scheduled offence.

ASG argued that the time of arrest is irrelevant. His role has been demonstrated by the CBI. Whether he was accused or not, that is not relevant.

ASG also submitted that timing is irrelevant, if the offence is made out. Arresting is prerogative of the IO.

Defence counsel has not argued that the accused is guilty of offence of Money laundering or not

ASG also submitted that the further investigation by CBI has shown his role. To say he has no role is false.

ASG argued that Kejriwal was granted limited interim bail for campaign only. He was directed not to go the Delhi Secretariat.

It was not regular interim bail, it was a limited interim bail for limited purpose, ASG argued.

ASG referred to the High Court order dismissing Kejriwal’s plea against his arrest and remand.

ASG also submitted that approvers are made with the permission of court. The entire purpose is to induce a statement against a co-accused.

He said that some time is required to file written submissions

The judge said that I will not reserve it for any other day. Everyone knows that it is a high profile matter. If I have to pass an order, I will pass it tomorrow.

ASG said that Kejriwal is roped in not only in individual capacity but also for vicarious liability under section 70 of PMLA

ASG said that Arvind Kejriwal demanded a bribe of Rs. 100 crores. How can you say that he is not guilty of offences money laundering.

He also said that Vijay Nair was media incharge of AAP and was organising meeting with liquor lobby and asking to pay bribe. He said if you give us bribe, we will change the policy.

He was living in a government bunglow, despite the fact that he was not a government official. He was close to Arvind Kejriwal.

ASG also submitted that Arvind Kejriwal is responsible for the conduct of AAP. He is the national convenor of the party. Therefore, he is the incharge of the party.

Muslim cleric used to rape while his wife stood guard: Minor girl in UP’s Meerut sexually assaulted in a mosque and blackmailed with videos for 2 months

A shocking case of rape of a 10-year-old minor girl inside the Masjid premises has come to light in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused in this case, Rizwan, was working as a Maulvi (cleric) at the Masjid. As per reports, the victim frequently visited the Masjid to learn Urdu and religious education. The accused reportedly recorded obscene videos of the minor victim while committing sexual assault. It is alleged that he committed the heinous act for several months by blackmailing her and threatening to make her videos viral. It is alleged that Maulvi’s wife, Rizwana, also supported her husband in this crime. A complaint was lodged with the police on Sunday (16th June 2024). Subsequently, the accused Maulvi, and his wife were arrested

According to media reports, the incident occurred in Lohianagar police station area of Meerut. On Sunday, the family of the 10-year-old girl filed a complaint. They stated that there is a mosque near their house. In a room within this mosque, Maulana Rizwan, originally from Muzaffarnagar district, lives with his wife Rizwana. He teaches religious education to the local children, including the minor victim. About 2 months ago, Rizwan raped a minor girl.

The family has alleged that the Muslim cleric not only sexually assaulted their daughter but also recorded obscene videos of the acts, which he later used to blackmail her. His wife, Rizwana is accused of supporting her husband in the crime. The accused raped the minor victim for 2 months by blackmailing and threatening to make her videos viral. After suffering in silence for a long time, the victim finally narrated everything to her family on Saturday (15th June). To catch the Maulvi red-handed, the family sent their child to the mosque again on Sunday and secretly followed her.

During this time, his wife stood outside to keep a watch. Just then, the victim’s family arrived there. When they asked Rizwana about their daughter, she couldn’t answer. Hearing the commotion from the girl’s family, the nearby people gathered. When they forcibly opened Rizwan’s room, he was caught in a compromising situation. Afterwards, they started assaulting the Maulvi. After getting information about the incident, Police also reached the spot.

Based on the victim’s family complaint, the police have registered an FIR against Maulvi Rizwan and his wife Rizwana. They have been booked under sections related to rape, threats, and also under the POCSO Act. The Police have also seized the mobile phone and laptop of the couple. Deputy SP Ashutosh told the media that the case is under investigation and necessary legal action is being taken.

Himachal Pradesh: Protests erupt after Javed uploads picture of animal sacrifice on WhatsApp status, FIR filed for hurting religious sentiments

In Himachal Pradesh’s Simaur district, an outrage has erupted over an outsider Muslim youth named Javed after Hindus accused him of slaughtering a cow on Bakrid (17th June) and uploading the picture on his WhatsApp status. Hindu rights organisations have alleged that Javed, who runs a garments shop in Nahan slaughtered a cow and then put up a picture of the same on his WhatsApp status. After the incident, Hindu organisations staged a protest outside Javed’s shop. The Muslim youth is currently absconding.

Javed, originally from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, has been operating a ready-made garments shop in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, for the past 1.5 years. On Bakrid, Javed shared pictures of an animal sacrifice on his WhatsApp status. In the image, he is seen smiling and standing with a knife close to a slaughtered animal, with other people in the background.

Hindu rights organisations have alleged that Javed slaughtered a cow and shared a picture of it on his WhatsApp. Hindu groups protested and called for action when they arrived at Javed’s garments shop in Nahan. Furthermore, they stated that Javed should never again be permitted to work in Nahan. There are rumours that some participants in this rally turned violent. In Nahan, a rally has also been planned by Hindu organisations.

Since the incident, Javed has absconded from Nahan, and the police are searching for him. Hindu organisations have also reported this to the police in a complaint. In this case, OpIndia was informed by the Nahan police station’s SHO that Javed most likely did not make this sacrifice in Nahan.

He stated that a probe into the matter is underway, and Javed’s whereabouts are being tracked down. He said that it is still unclear which animal was slaughtered as a sacrifice. He added that locals in Nahan are outraged over Javed’s alleged act.

A purported video of the protest taken by Hindu organisations has gone viral. This shows an enormous crowd in front of Javed’s shop. Hindu organisations have urged that those from other communities who have travelled to Nahan to open shops be subject to additional verification and should not be given shops without any prior approval.

A Vishwa Hindu Parishad activist claimed that Muslim outsiders are taking shops for exorbitant rent rates across the state of Himachal Pradesh, including Nahan. These people are attempting to undermine the peace in society by taking shops on high rents that the average person cannot afford. He also spoke about taking action against Javed in UP’s Saharanpur.

Shamli SSP Abhishek said that the team has investigated the matter. The investigation has found that Javed did not sacrifice a prohibited animal during the sacrifice. An authorized animal was sacrificed. In this case, the police have registered a case under section 153-A, 505 (2) for animal cruelty and hurting religious sentiments.

SSP Abhishek further added that since the picture on social media was a bit gruesome, an FIR has been registered for inciting communal sentiments.

Kerala: Sibin, Ebin and Justin arrested from Kasargod for creating nude photos of 150 women, including church-going women, using an AI app

Three young people in the Kasargod district of Kerala created fake nude images of over 150 women from their village. They created the images using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The accused who have been identified as Sibin Lukose (21), Ebin Tom Joseph (18) and Justin Jacob (21) have reportedly been taken into custody at Kasargod’s Chittarikkal police station, according to a report by Onmanorama. However, the trio was later released on station bail.

They were involved in the heinous act for the last one and a half years. These photos had been posted to a private Instagram account that was only accessible to a select group of users. Station House Officer of Chittarikka informed, “They were booked under Section 67 (a) of the Information Technology Act for transmitting material containing sexually explicit acts in electronic form.”

They stole pictures of the females of their village and the surrounding areas from social media and utilized AI software to alter and turn them into naked images. Furthermore, they used their digital camera to snap photographs of those women who didn’t post their pics online. The perpetrators had also doctored photos of at least forty female pupils who were studying with them. They also went after those who attended church for prayers on Sundays.

The revelation of their illicit actions transpired on 11th June when Sibin visited his friend’s home who came across a picture of his relative while idly browsing through the former’s phone and noticed that the device included multiple explicit pictures of women he knew. Panchayat member and Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader stated, “The friend copied some photographs to his phone and approached his relatives and me.”

He claimed that Sibin and Ebin created the pictures and forwarded them to Justin. The two had erased the photos from their phones before the cops showed there, but Justin didn’t. He revealed, “We found photographs of around 40 of their schoolmates. They also clicked and used photographs of women when they came to church on Sundays, and when they climbed the hill here for the Way of the Cross procession on Good Friday.” The CPM leader added, “On Sunday (June 16), we organised an awareness meeting to discuss the matter. At least 210 people attended the meeting.”

The small hamlet is feeling anxious as a result of the news. The deputy superintendent of police (DSP) assured, “We will protect the complainant’s privacy and investigate the matter.” The police are anticipating more people to come forward after four have already complained to the authorities. The Cyber Police has received the cell phones of the offenders for a forensic analysis.

According to the panchayat member who lodged the police complaint, Ebin did not pass Class 12 this year. Sibin and Justin, on the other hand, make their money by cleaning private buses. They might be sentenced to up to seven years in prison and fined Rs. 10 lakh if found guilty.

Tamil Nadu: DMK leader makes derogatory remarks against PM Modi, Annamalai, and others, BJP to file a case against him

BJP leader and NCW member, Khushbu Sundar recently informed that she was filing a case against controversial DMK leader Sivaji Krishnamurthy for abusing women most offensively. Notably, the DMK leader has been notorious for making uncouth remarks against his rivals, particularly women politicians. He was earlier expelled from Tamil Nadu’s ruling party, DMK, and arrested for his derogatory remarks. But the Dravidian party later re-inducted him ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. However, several videos are doing rounds on social media in which he is accused of continuously making derogatory and vulgar remarks against his rivals.

Notably, Sivaji Krishnamurthy recently addressed an event that was held to celebrate the 101st birthday of Kalaignar (M. Karunanidhi, former Tamil Nadu CM). On Wednesday (19th June), ‘The Commune’ published excerpts of his speech given in Tamil in which he made several derogatory and vulgar remarks against BJP leaders including PM Modi and K Annamalai.

As per the report, in his celebratory speech following the DMK’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections, DMK leader Sivaji once again made controversial remarks against NDA leaders. He began his speech with sarcasm stating that he was there to entertain the audience. After lauding Former Chief Minister Karunanidhi and incumbent CM MK Stalin, he launched a verbal tirade targeting state BJP President K Annamalai. Sivaji provocatively challenged him and hurled slurs at him. “He said there won’t be a party called DMK after the elections. ‘Ada g*mala dei’, Do you have the mouth to say it, can you say it?”, Sivaji Krishnamurthy was quoted saying.

Later, he started mocking former Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. Sivaji remarked, “Now a sister went to Andhra today; Amit Shah sent her with two slaps to her ears…”

He continued attributing false quotes to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and furthering conspiracy and said, “Amit Shah has stated, ‘Be respectful, shut up and keep quiet, if you open your mouth here and there, I will cut and bury you’. If you look at her face, it’s like that.”

Reportedly, he made double-meaning and sexiest remarks while targeting BJP leader Tamilsai.

(Excerpt of his speech, Source – The Commune)

While trying to corner BJP’s reliance on NDA partners Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP and Nitish Kumar-led JDU among other allies, he made derogatory and vulgar remarks against PM Modi.

Sivaji Krishnamurthy said, “Now if you say Modi ka means Chandrababu Naidu will put a banana in the mouth, if you open it again, Nitish Kumar will bring the item that is best from North and put it in (the mouth), if you open it more… who is he, Pawan Kalyan right, then there is another one in Maharashtra… Brother has just said two or three only… the epitome of treachery Eknath Shinde right, then Ajit Pawar and Ram Vilas Paswan have one child, If all these people take it and put it in (the mouth), Modi’s mouth will tear, henceforth there will be no Modi Ka Parivar, Modi Ka Guarantee should be wrapped up and roll up your tail.”

DMK leader Sivaji Krishnamurthy: Controversial History

Earlier, Sivaji who was the then spokesperson of DMK stroked a controversy after he made derogatory remarks against actor and BJP candidate Radikaa Sarathkumar and her husband Sarath Kumar.

During the campaign speech endorsing DMK MP Candidate G Selvan from Kanchipuram, Sivaji Krishnamurthy said, “Who is he? Nirodh (Condom) …. Sorry! Sarath Kumar… Even if I go to Chennai, Tiruvallur, or Kanchipuram, it will be exactly 1 or 2 O’clock, then I will go home and wake up my wife. She has to be woken up for something right. Don’t you need a reason to wake up your wife? This sister f*c*er has woken her half past two… this Sarath Kumar. She is sleepy, she has come and is lying down after giving an advertisement to nighties. At half past two, he calls ‘Radhika, Radhika’. Squinting her eyes, she asks what? If you have wakened her up for something else, you are a man. Instead, he tells her ‘Modi is calling shall we go?’”

Earlier, during a centenary event honouring Karunanidhi, Krishnamurthy disparaged Governor Ravi and made offensive comments about Khushbu Sundar. His remarks had sparked outrage on social media and condemnation from various quarters. In response, Khushbu, visibly upset, spoke to the media from her home. She passionately condemned the mistreatment of women and vowed to confront those who disparage them. She emphasized her readiness to challenge any person or political group that undermines women.

His disparaging remarks about the BJP leader went viral on social media. After this, a case was registered against Sivaji Krishnamurthy at Kodunkaiyur Police Station and he was arrested and released. He was also temporarily removed from the DMK. He was re-inducted into the DMK after Shivaji Krishnamurthy apologized for his actions ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Recently, while responding to a short clip of Sivaji Krishnamurthy’s speech, Khusbu Sundar stated that as an NCW member, she was filing a case against him and would make sure he lands up where he should learn a stringent lesson on how to respect women.

Notorious for giving controversial speeches, Krishnamurthy despite facing repeated suspensions and reinstatements within the DMK, continues to deliver provocative speeches marked by offensive language, particularly targeting women.

Meanwhile, The Commune also reported that a few other DMK leaders also made derogatory remarks against other BJP leaders including Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Big industrialists with generations of wealth and ’empire’ did not want Modi to win, reveals Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi chief Prakash Ambedkar

On Tuesday (18th June), former MP Prakash Ambedkar, leader of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi claimed that many industrialists and wealthy businessman were concerned about the return of PM Modi to power. He said that many big businessmen called him before the elections and said that they did not want the BJP to return to power. Ambedkar was in an exclusive conversation with Mumbai Tak media on 18th June.

“We are just talking about the Muslim block. During the elections, many industrialists and big businessmen with generations of wealth called me and expressed their concern about the return of the BJP. They said aapko pata hai kya chal raha hai. I said yes I absolutely know. Then they said their forefathers struggled as a result of which they are rich today. Similarly, it took 70 years to build this constitution, this democracy, and now it’s changing, where do you stand? I told them that I was definitely with them,” Ambedkar said while talking to Mumbai Tak media.

He indicated that the businessmen were saying that the constitution and the democracy would be in danger if PM Modi would come to power again.

While talking about Shiv Sena (UBT) and its alliance with INC and NCP (Sharad Pawar), he said that his party has not suffered any harm for not joining the Mahavikas Aghadi. “On the contrary, gradually people’s faith in some leaders is eroding. Also, if the Dalit and Muslim constituencies go with the Mahavikas Aghadi, the July by-elections will tell whether our electorate is temporary or gone forever,” Prakash Ambedkar said.

It is important to note that in March this year, ahead of the elections, Ambedkar had made haywire allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and insinuated that if Modi becomes PM of the country again, then India will be “in debt” by 2026.

He had accused the BJP government of misusing central investigation agencies to exert pressure on opposition leaders to join the BJP. In a separate letter to Jitendra Awhad, Ambedkar had also asked the Sharad Pawar faction of NCP to promise it won’t join hands with the BJP after the Lok Sabha elections.
