During the investigation, Police found out that a few days earlier, verbal arguments broke out in the madarsa between the deceased victim and the accused minor.
The accused during the interrogation confirmed to the Bareilly police that he abducted the girl and changed her name to Mariyam. The girl meanwhile confirmed that she was raped for around 2 months and forced to convert her religion to Islam.
The deceased victim’s brother filed a complaint at Mawana Police Station in Meerut against accused Faizan, Sameer, Farukh and Tarun. The police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections. Since the horrifying murder of the victim, tension prevails in the locality.
The accused Muslim youth was pressuring the victim to convert to Islam and perform Nikah with him. Reports say that Wasif was threatening the victim to make her obscene video viral on social media. On 29th July, Wasif threatened to throw acid on the Hindu’s girl face if she refused to convert to Islam and do Nikah with him.
In a reply to IP Singh, Ayodhya Police said, "Based on the complaint received, a case was registered and both the named accused Moeed Khan and Rjau Khan were arrested and sent to judicial custody. Further legal proceedings are underway based on scientific evidence collection."
