‘Removing BJP and RSS won’t be enough’: Leftist SFI member calls for regime change in India, follows familiar playbook of targeting Hindus while demanding “freedom from Hindutva”

A member of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), affiliated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), addressing a protest gathering near Parliament Square in London, called for an end to “Hindutva,” a term used by this group to attack the broader Hindu community, adding that removing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from power would not be enough.

She demanded that Hindutva itself must be fought, while her Islamo-leftist audience joined her in raising slogans demanding alleged “freedom” from Hindutva, the BJP, the RSS, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Speaking at the gathering, the SFI member stated that Hindutva had spread across India through RSS shakhas and universities associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). She then accused its supporters of purportedly targeting women, Muslims, Dalits and Adivasis.

“The time has come for BJP and RSS to leave. But before that, the ideology of Hindutva has spread in our country,” she declared. She further claimed that removing the BJP and RSS alone would not achieve her agenda, remarking, “We will have to fight Hindutva.”

The activist then asked her audience, “What do we want from Hindutva?” who predictably responded with ‘Freedom!” Similar slogans were raised against the BJP, RSS, Modi and Shah.

Notably, other members of this cabal, including another leftist anarchist Neha Bora and propagandist Prashant Bhushan, have already expressed their desire for regime change. Bora even voiced admiration for the violent protests in Bangladesh and expressed a desire to replicate them in India, only to later claim that her video had been doctored after facing backlash.

It is also important to highlight that a concerted effort has been underway within the global Islamo-leftist ecosystem to “dismantle global Hindutva.” In September 2021, a three-day conference titled “Dismantling Global Hindutva (DGH)” was organised, which prompted Hinduphobia through fear-mongering without substantial evidence, delegitimised Hindu critiques, and created a double standard by singling out Hindutva. The event denied the existence of Hinduphobia and downplayed the concerns of the Hindu community.

More importantly, Hindutva has been demonised and targeted by this cabal in an attempt to put an already globally outnumbered minority, Hindus, in the crosshairs. Since openly displaying their Hinduphobia or hostility towards the community would expose their agenda, they cloak it in attacks on Hindutva, the BJP, and organisations such as the RSS that fight for Hindu causes. The same pattern has been visible time and again, from the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi to the recent protests against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat‘s entry into the United States.

In fact, Islamists openly raised the slogan “Hinduo se azadi” during the Delhi unrest and desecrated Hindu symbols. The violence saw the brutal killing of IB officer Ankit Sharma, Head Constable Ratan Lal, and others. The entire episode was an attempt to teach Hindus a lesson, while continuing to blame the Hindutva government for implementing the CAA, a law that had nothing to do with Indian Muslims.

This entire ecosystem has been engaged in a concerted effort to target the community by levelling unfounded allegations of Hindu militant groups, peddling minority victimhood and whatnot, while targeting Hindutva and other Hindu organisations as a pretext to advance its agenda. The SFI member’s latest statement is merely an extension of this established playbook.
