On Saturday (25th January), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States confirmed through a new assessment that COVID-19 originated in a Chinese laboratory.
Although it marked its assessment as ‘low confidence’, the CIA stated that the possibility of Coronavirus outbreak due to a lab leak was more likely than to have originated from animals.
A CIA spokesperson said, “We continue to assess that both research-related and natural origin scenarios of the COVID-19 pandemic remain plausible. We have low confidence in this judgement and will continue to evaluate any available credible new intelligence reporting or open-source information that could change CIA’s assessment.”
The CIA now agrees with other intel agencies that Covid came from China. Finally. Incredible it took the election of Trump for the truth to come out. We reported 18 months ago that the patients zero worked in the Wuhan lab. Now let's get truth on Russiagate, laptop, JFK & UAPs. https://t.co/XVngt0nm3b pic.twitter.com/Y3Jagp1YfP

On Monday (27th January), China hit out at the United States and accused the country of ‘politicising and instrumentalising the issue of origin-tracing’. The Foreign Ministry issued a statement claiming that ‘lab leak’ of COVID-19 was highly unlikely.
