The Patiala House Court in Delhi has directed the Delhi cyber police to file an FIR against ‘journalist’ Karishma Aziz for making derogatory remarks against Hindu saints and for spreading anti-India sentiments through her posts on X.
Patiala House Court Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Mridul Gupta passed the order directing legal action against the journalist. The order comes after the judge examined the complaint against Aziz filed by Advocate Amita Sachdeva. The judge observed that the complaint disclosed the commission of cognisable offences.
“However, having regard to the allegations made in the complaint, the material placed on record and the nature of evidence required to be collected, this Court is satisfied that the complaint discloses commission of cognizable offences requiring investigation. It is made clear that no opinion is being expressed on the merits of the allegations at this stage”, the judge noted.

The complaint stated that Aziz made derogatory posts about Lord Ram, freedom fighter Veer Savarkar, Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Prime Minister Modi. She is also accused of posting content distorting history, mocking the Hindu religion, Hindu saints and Hindu rulers.

This is not the first time that Islamist Karishma Aziz is facing the law for her criminal activities. Last year in November, she was booked for inciting Nepal-like Gen-Z protests in Bihar in the aftermath of the state assembly elections. According to the FIR lodged against her, she posted a piece of fake news about a youth-led protest in Bihar, which never happened, with the objective of creating an atmosphere for violent protests like those that happened in Nepal.
Aziz is said to have been running a network of digital accounts and continuously posting hateful and misleading content. She made posts celebrating death and destruction caused by a cloudburst that created havoc in Uttarakhand in August last year.
