Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has contributed ₹11 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the ongoing floods in the state.
Building on this financial support, the Adani Foundation, the social welfare and development arm of the Adani Group, has launched a flood relief programme across Upper Assam with assistance from Adani Smart Meter and Guwahati International Airport Limited (GIAL), a subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited. Relief kits are being distributed to nearly 8,000 families in the Nazira Sub-Division of Sivasagar district and Silapathar in Dhemaji district.
Each kit contains essential food items, medicines, sanitation and hygiene supplies to help families meet their immediate needs as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives. The programme covers 14 villages in Nazira—Gurmur Miri (Nepali Basti), Santak Grant, Baligaon, Rojapool Duwarah Gaon, Bamunpukhuri, Gohain Gaon (Komol Sapori), Hulang Katoni, Hulang Kalita, Bengmora Konwar Gaon, Bailung Gaon, Miri Gaon, Ougurijan and Bihubor Grant—along with flood-affected areas of Silapathar. Teams are working to ensure that aid reaches even the most remote and difficult-to-access villages.
Adani Foundation said that the distribution of relief material marks only the first step in recovery. The organisation has reiterated its commitment to supporting affected families in the longer term so that communities can emerge stronger and more resilient.

The contribution comes at a time when Assam is grappling with severe flooding that has claimed dozens of lives and affected nearly two lakh people across several districts, including Sivasagar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon and Charaideo. Several corporate houses, organisations and individuals have made generous donations to the CM’s relief fund and NGOs working in the field. Some organisations are directly working on the field to help the victim families.
