Ghaziabad Police outpost blast: Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan claims responsibility in social media post, warns of further attacks against “Hindu fascist govt,” threatens Hindu community

A blast at the Vasundhara Police Outpost in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday night, 6th November, damaged the premises and triggered an investigation by multiple agencies. Soon after the incident, a social media post claiming responsibility for the explosion surfaced on X, shared by an account named “Ghazi 2,” which declared that an organisation named Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan had carried out the attack. The account also threatened similar assaults in the future.

The explosion took place around 9 pm, shattering two glass panes and cracking a wall. A delivery executive who was present at the spot sustained injuries after being hit by shattered glass and was taken to hospital. A Sub-Inspector was also present at the outpost.

Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan claims responsibility

Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen Hindustan’s post described the explosion as an “operation” against the allegedly “Hindu Fascist government” and claimed, “We too have the right to defend our very existence, to defend our homes and our places of worship, and to resist in defence of our faith and our civilisation.”

It referred to the attack as “revenge” for the alleged detention camps in Assam and bulldozer actions, while expressing outrage over the election of Narendra Modi as prime minister and Yogi Adityanath as Uttar Pradesh chief minister without naming them.

The post alleged, “The system that locks our women and children in the detention camps of Assam, that sends bulldozers through our neighbourhoods, and makes our murderers prime ministers and chief ministers – we too have the right to answer it in its own language. Today, every arm of this Fascist government – police, army, judiciary, municipality – is being turned against us. Therefore, we declare this government as illegitimate.”

The post then targeted the Hindus, threatening that since the politicians, officers, constables and soldiers involved were not outsiders but belonged to the community, they should also be prepared for the consequences when the “fire eventually reached their own homes.” It blamed Hindus for participating in so-called “oppression of Muslims” and added that “instead of blaming us, make your leaders accountable today.”

The post then addressed the “Muslim Ummah,” concluding that these jihadis have wrapped themselves in shrouds and urging their co-religionists not to fear military actions. It read, “What could be worse than this: our enemies openly insult our beloved Prophet every single day? What could be worse: our places of worship destroyed by the thousands?”

The post peddled the already exposed propaganda around “Jai Shree Ram” slogans and alleged “bhagwa love traps,” threatening, “What could be worse: our white-bearded elders forced to shout ‘JSR,’ and our sisters lured into bhagwa love traps? A garden where our honour cannot be protected is better burnt to the ground. It is impossible that our enemy should live in peace and comfort while our ummah suffers in agony. We will be back soon with a new operation and message, InshAllah.”

Investigators are examining the authenticity of the account and the message.

UP ATS team to investigate the incident

Police and forensic teams are examining the site to determine what caused the explosion and whether explosives or a timer were used. However, no explosive material or firecracker residue has been found at the spot so far. An explosives expert team is also examining the premises, while a team of the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is expected to join the investigation.

The incident comes amid intelligence inputs about possible attempts to target police personnel and security forces in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, the state police have busted a module linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Shahzad Bhatti.

Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash had said that the accused were planning to target police personnel and security forces.

While speaking to ANI, DCP Rijul Kumar said that two window panes were shattered and a delivery boy sustained a head injury from glass fragments. Police said no traces of explosives or gunpowder were found at the site.

Against this backdrop, investigators are examining all possible angles, including the terror link, while trying to establish the exact cause of the blast at the Vasundhara police outpost.
