‘Hindus and Jews against Muslims’: Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir raises alarm over growing India-Israel ties

Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir is apparently alarmed by growing India-Israel ties and has cited them as a threat to the wider Muslim world and Pakistan. According to Iran’s top security official, Mohsen Rezaei, Munir expressed the concerns during a four-nation security meeting in Tehran on October 26, 2026, which was attended by Munir, Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, Saudi defence minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, and Rezaei.

In a recent interview with Iranian state media, Rezaei said that during the meeting, Munir talked about the Israeli threat and the bond between Hindus and Jews, portraying them as a threat against Muslims and Pakistan. “…Mr. Asim Munir also spoke about the threat posed by Israel and the emerging bond between Hindus and Jews against Muslims and even Pakistan,” Rezaei said. “These remarks reflect their information and concerns about how Israel may act towards them in the future,” he added.

This is not the first time that Munir has displayed his vile ideology against Hindus. Days before the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, Munir had invoked the Two-nation theory and distinguished between Hindus and Muslims as two distinct as well as opposed communities, who cannot co-exist. A few days later, a group of Pakistan-based terrorists launched a ghastly terror attack in Pahalgam, J&K, on April 22, 2025. The terrorists mercilessly shot dead 25 Hindu male tourists after verifying their religion in front of their wives and children.

Speaking at the Overseas Pakistani Convention in Islamabad on April 16, 2026, Munir declared the Islamic Pakistani culture a “superior ideology and culture” to those of Hindus. “You should definitely tell Pakistan’s story to your children. Our forefathers believed that we were different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life. Our religion is different. Our customs are different. Our traditions are different. Our thoughts are different. Our ambitions are different. That was the foundation of the Two-Nation Theory. It was laid on the belief that we are two nations, not one,” the Pakistani Army General claimed, addressing the gathering.

In the months preceding the terror attack, Munir delivered a blatantly anti-Hindu, jihadist-laced speech in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, where he referred to Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein”, a term with deep militaristic and Islamist undertones in Pakistan’s strategic doctrine.

Notably, Israel openly supported India’s right to self-defence during Operation Sindoor, which was carried out by the Indian forces to eliminate terror launchpads in Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. Like India, Israel also faces constant challenges posed by local Islamic terrorist organisations operating from the land of its neighbouring countries.
