A new development has transpired in the case involving the sexual exploitation, blackmail and forced conversion of a resident doctor from King George Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow by her colleague, Rameezuddin Naik Malik, who is also facing charges of love jihad. Now, his parents, Salimuddin and Khatija, have been arrested on 5th January in the Thakurganj locality.
According to reports, they have been implicated and booked under severe legal provisions following the complaint lodged by the victim. Meanwhile, Naik continues to evade capture. Authorities have announced that a non-bailable warrant has been issued for him, and raids are underway at multiple sites to nab him. The police have raised the reward for his capture from ₹25,000 to ₹50,000.
The complainant, who is from West Bengal, stated that Naik had initiated a physical relationship with her under the guise of marriage. Afterwards, he pressured her into converting to Islam to tie the knot. She also talked to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath about her ordeal.
On the other hand, police examined Naik’s mobile phone and disclosed that he had been in touch with 15 Hindu girls. He was attempting to manipulate and push them into changing their religion. His targets comprised not only students but also professors. The girls hailed from Agra, Noida and various other districts as his network reached beyond Lucknow to other cities as well.
The accused even trapped a female professor from KGMU. A girl employed in Noida informed the police that he had drugged and raped in 2012. He also recorded the horrific act and had been blackmailing and exploiting her ever since.
Another case of sexual exploitation and blackmail originates from KGMU
A similar matter has been reported from the institution where a nursing student has charged that Dr Mohammad Adil sexually exploited her. She complained to the Kaiserbagh police station on 31st December and revealed that he had befriended her on Instagram in 2024. Afterwards, he lured her to his apartment and engaged in physical relations, but later declined to marry her.
She informed that the perpetrator assaulted her and even threatened to disseminate her private images on social media. The young woman expressed that she is extremely frightened. The police have assigned two teams to catch Adil, who is currently on the run. Notably, this is the second such occurrence to emerge at KGMU in the last 15 days.
