A shocking case of love jihad has come to light from Madhya Pradesh Ratlam district, where a Muslim man named Imran reportedly used a fake identity to lure a young Hindu woman into a relationship. The two first met back in 2020 at a Ram Mandir in Ratlam. At that time, the man introduced himself as Sonu and claimed he was Hindu.
Although the woman eventually married someone else, they stayed in touch, and over time, Sonu began pressuring her to leave her husband and be with him instead.
Trusting his promises of a good future together, the woman decided to leave her husband, and she moved back to her parents’ house. Sonu arranged a rented room for her to stay in, and just after she shifted to the rented house, the truth came out. She discovered that the man she knew as Sonu was actually Imran.
Despite this revelation, the victim states that Imran continued to treat her like his wife and had physical relations with her multiple times under the pretence of their relationship.
The situation took a serious turn in November 2024 when, at Imran’s insistence, the woman officially divorced her husband to clear the way for their marriage. Once the divorce was finalised, Imran’s behaviour changed completely. He refused to marry her as promised and began threatening her life, warning her that he would kill her if she dared to go to the police or report his actions.
Feeling trapped and betrayed, the woman eventually gathered the courage to approach the authorities. Based on her detailed statement, the Industrial Area police station has officially registered an FIR against Imran.
He is now facing charges related to rape and criminal intimidation. The police are currently investigating the matter, and further investigation is underway.
