According to ANI, Yash Yadav knew Vikas Biwal, whose father, Dinesh Biwal, scanned the hard copy of the question paper and made PDF files. The accused had handwritten the question paper and then scanned it. He then disseminated the question paper among students in various coaching centres in Sikar, Rajasthan. However, Yash Yadav, a student of the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences, did not clear the exam.
When the CBI questioned the owners and students at various coaching institutes, it was revealed that the students paid between ₹2 lakh and ₹5 lakh to access the question paper. Meanwhile, accused Shubham Khairnar denied being the mastermind behind the paper leak. The CBI has been trying to trace the source of the paper leak in the case, while also verifying the money trail.
Initially, the case was being investigated by Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG), which found that the origins of a guess paper containing questions similar to those asked in the exam were traced to a student from Sikar district. He was pursuing an MBBS in Kerala and went on to share it with his friends and a hostel owner. Later, the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI at the direction of the government. Based on a written complaint received from the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education relating to the paper leak, the CBI registered a case on 12th May.
Three of the accused (Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Dinesh Biwal) were arrested by the CBI from Jaipur and the other two were arrested from Gurugram (Yash Yadav) and Nashik (Shubham Khairnar). The Rajasthan SOG had arrested Yash Yadav, a resident of Khera village in the Farrukhnagar area, from his home.
