On 1st September (Tuesday), 28-year-old Mohammad Faiz was taken into custody over taking explicit videos, blackmail and assault of a Hindu woman. He wanted to use the images and footage, which were captured without her permission, to push her into prostitution and religious conversion and thrashed her when she refused to comply with his demands. The perpetrator is from the Omkaleshwar area, which falls under the Adampur police station.
According to DCP Varuna Zone, Pramod Kumar, Mohammad Faiz was arrested after a comprehensive questioning at the Cantt police station. The victim, who is in her early 20s, registered the case at the police station on 31st July. She revealed that the two shared a close bond after they met. However, he exploited their relationship to make obscene videos of her without her approval.
The complainant mentioned that Faiz utilised the recordings to threaten and control her. He told her to obey his orders, or he would upload and circulate the objectionable content online. He forced her into prostitution and changing her religion by using her private photos and clips. The woman disclosed that Faiz would attack her if she did not follow his instructions and even issued death threats.
Afterwards, the offender was booked under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), 303(2) (theft) and 69 (sexual intercourse with a woman by making a false promise of marriage) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Sections 3 and 5 of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021 were also invoked against him.
