Sonam Wangchuk downplays violence and vandalism by riotous Cockroach Janta Party supporters, blames police instead: Here is what happened

On Monday (20th July), ‘activist’ Sonam Wangchuk shared a hand-written note downplaying the violence perpetrated by the riotous mob of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) supporters.

He then went on to blame the police and use it as a pretext to continue his ‘hunger strike’ in the hopes of holding the State to ransom.

“Seeing the brutality with which peacefully protesting youth are being dealt with, I have decided to continue my fast untill the youth leaders are allowed to meet the Parliamentarians at the Samsad Bhawan or I am allowed to meet them here at the Hospital. Hopefully Govt will fix accountability of Edu minister before that.,” Sonam Wangchuk brazened out.

Multiple instances of violence and vandalism by CJP supporters in the guise of ‘peaceful’ Parliament march have surfaced on social media.

Videos that have surfaced on social media expose how CJP supporters targeted the law enforcement authroities, destroyed vehicles and forced the police to take action.

Despite this, Sonam Wangchuk has the audacity to call the protest ‘peaceful’ and the police action ‘brutal.’

In his letter, the activist claimed, “I am touched & moved by how the youth have held on to peace despite provocation and I appeal to the Govt & Police force to resolve the issue by simply allowing the students to present their grievances before the Parliament today or tomorrow.”

“I’m sure the young protesters will show the same patience and tolerance tomorrow as they did today,” Wangchuk continued to make a mockery of the violence that was unleashed by CJP supporters.
