South Delhi double murder: Father and son stabbed to death by neighbour Asad in Alaknanda’s Tara Apartments

A shocking case of violence has come to light from South Delhi, where a father and son were stabbed to death, and another family member was injured by their Muslim neighbour, Asad, following a money-related dispute. The incident took place on Friday night, 17th April, in Alaknanda, near Chittaranjan Park, inside a flat at Tara Apartments.

The victims have been identified as 62-year-old Rakesh Sood and his 27-year-old son Karan Sood. Rahul, who is Karan’s cousin, was also attacked and is now under treatment. Karan was involved in his father’s property business, and police said there had been tension over a money-related issue.

According to police, they received a call about the incident around 9:30 pm from the residential complex. When the team reached the spot, they found the father and son lying in a pool of blood outside their house. They were immediately taken to Max Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

Investigators said the accused, identified as their neighbour Asad, had earlier argued with Karan on the same day. Later that night, he came to their house again, and the argument turned into a violent attack. During the fight, he used a large knife and stabbed Karan several times. When Rakesh tried to step in and save his son, he was also attacked repeatedly. Rahul was also injured in the assault.

Police believe the attacker came prepared and targeted all three, hitting them in the neck and other parts of the body. The nature of the attack has also raised suspicion that more people could have been involved, pointing towards earlier enmity between the two parties.

After the attack, the accused ran away from the spot. Police teams began a search operation, scanned CCTV footage from nearby areas, and traced his escape route. He was later caught.

Crime and forensic teams also inspected the scene and collected evidence. An FIR has been registered, and further investigation is going on to understand the full story behind the incident and check if anyone else was involved.
