Tamil Nadu deputy CM and son of CM, Udhayanidhi Stalin has stated that he is a ‘proud Chsitian’ who loves and respects all faiths. He has also accused the BJP-AIADMK of spreading communal hatred, adding that he only believes in religious harmony and co-existence.
Speaking at a Christian event ahead of Christmas, Udhay Stalin said, “Last year at a Christmas event, I said that I am a proud Christian. It immediately irritated several Sanghis. But I am saying it again, I am a proud Christian.”
He further added, If you think I am a Christian, I am a Christian, if you think I am a Muslim, then I am a Muslim. If you think I am a Hindu, then I am a Hindu. I am common to everyone. All religions teach us only to show love.”
The junior Stalin then mentioned the speech of Allahabad High Court judge Shekhar Yadav at an event and claimed that the judge was spreading hate comments against Muslims. He added, “We question how can such a person hold the position of a judge. How can anyone expect justice at his court?”
While claiming to love all religions, Udhaynidhi Stalin seems to have conveniently forgotten his own statement when he had compared Sanatan Dharma to ‘dengue and malaria’. When criticised for the hateful statement, the had then doubled down on the hatred against the Hindu faith, adding that ‘uprooting Sanatan Dharma is the same as upholding humanity’.
