A mass shooting incident took place at a restaurant in Idaho, United States, on Saturday (1st August), leaving multiple people dead and several injured. The attacker opened fire in the IN-N-OUT restaurant located in the city of Twin Falls in the northwestern state. The shooter was captured on camera holding a giant gun and firing shots. The videos have been going viral on the internet.
The attacker was also among the dead. “It appears there was one shooter who is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot,”Duane Rubink, chief of the neighboring Jerome Police Department.

Reports quoted Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks, who told the media that the Police are trying to determine the shooter’s identity and motive. “We believe the threat to the community is over. It was a very chaotic scene,” Hicks said. He added that the number of people killed or wounded in the attack is not confirmed yet.
Hicks said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is assisting in the investigation of the incident. He added that no information about the suspect and his motive will be released in the coming days.
An “active shooter incident” was reported to the police around 4:29 p.m. (local time) on Blue Lakes Boulevard North in southern Idaho. The police advised people to avoid the area. An eyewitness to the shooting incident, Lane Koehn, reportedly said that he was at a stoplight near the In-N-Out when he saw a person with an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-thru. He said that a man with a pistol started firing at the shooter.
Koehan then described seeing a uniformed woman being dragged by another uniformed person. The person being dragged had a gunshot wound in her chest. Koehn, along with an employee of the restaurant, stayed until paramedics arrived. “She was pretty bad off, but I don’t know. I hope she made it,” Koehn said. He added that the shooter fired three to four rounds.
Last month, a shooting incident took place on the US Independence Day holiday in the Coney Island neighbourhood of New York City, leaving multiple people injured.
