Uttar Pradesh: Muslim man lures away a 16-year-old minor Brahmin girl from Baraut; Swami Yashveer Maharaj warns of protest

A 16-year-old Hindu Brahmin girl has been missing for eight days after a Muslim man lured her away from New Colony in Baraut town of Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, on October 10. The girl’s family has approached Swami Yashveer Maharaj for help, fearing for her safety and expressing concern that she may have been converted. The police have registered a case and formed four teams to find the minor, but her whereabouts remain unknown.

Swami Yashveer Maharaj seeks police action

The girl’s family contacted Swami Yashveer Maharaj and requested his help in bringing their daughter home. Following their appeal, the Swami spoke with Baghpat Superintendent of Police Punendu Singh and demanded quick action to recover the girl and strict legal action against the accused.

A video of Swami Yashveer Maharaj speaking about the case has gone viral on social media. He said the family had expressed fear that their daughter had been trapped in what they described as ‘love jihad’ and might have been converted.

Threatens sit-in protest if girl is not found

Swami Yashveer Maharaj has given the police seven days to recover the girl. He warned that if she is not found within this period, he will stage a sit-in protest outside the accused’s house in New Colony, Baraut, along with members of the Hindu community.

He said the protest would continue until the girl was found. The Swami also warned those involved in such cases in western Uttar Pradesh, saying that if ‘love jihad’ did not stop, Hindu society would respond strongly.

Police form four teams for recovery

The girl’s family had already approached the police and filed a complaint seeking her recovery. According to Baghpat Police, a case has been registered under the relevant legal sections at Baraut Police Station.

In a statement posted on its official X account, Baghpat Police said the teams are making continuous efforts to find her, while officers are collecting evidence and carrying out further legal proceedings as per the rules. The police have not yet traced the girl, and efforts to recover her are continuing.
