West Bengal: Police arrest TMC leader Abdul, who was involved in bombing case and the murder of Hindu BJP worker

On Monday (8th June), the West Bengal Police arrested Trinamool Congress leader Abdul Alim Alraji from Nandigram’s Kalicharanpur. Alraji has several pending criminal cases against him, including the murder case of BJP worker Rathibala Adhikari. The now-arrested TMC leader was absconding for several months.

Alraji is accused of involvement in the murder of BJP worker Rathibala Adhikari at the Sonachura Gram Panchayat area’s Mansa Bazaar ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. 

He is also named as an accused in the 2022 bombing incident at Kanchan Nagar High School. The case is being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
