Yogi govt clears path for Delhi–Jewar Namo Bharat corridor, travel time between Delhi and Noida International Airport may take just 21 minutes

The Yogi government has moved ahead with plans for a new Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor that will connect Delhi-NCR with the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. The project is aimed at giving faster travel access to people living in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and nearby areas.

According to the proposed plan, passengers may be able to reach Noida International Airport from parts of Delhi in nearly 21 minutes through the high-speed rail corridor. The trains are expected to run at speeds of up to 180 kmph, making the journey much faster compared to road travel.

Proposed route and stations

The route under discussion is expected to begin from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and move through DND Flyway, Noida City Centre, NSEZ, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, Ecotech areas and YEIDA sectors before reaching Noida International Airport.

The corridor is likely to include around 11 to 12 major RRTS stations. The proposed stations include Siddharth Vihar, Greater Noida West, Knowledge Park V, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, Ecotech VI, Dankaur, YEIDA Sector 18, YEIDA Sector 21 and Noida International Airport. Earlier, a separate plan was also discussed to connect Ghaziabad with Jewar.

Better connectivity across Delhi-NCR

The planned Delhi-Noida RRTS corridor is not only being designed for airport passengers but also for daily commuters across Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and the wider Delhi-NCR region.

Officials are planning to link the corridor with existing public transport networks such as the Delhi Metro Blue Line and Noida Metro Aqua Line. This integration is expected to make travel easier for people using different transport systems during their journey.

The project may be developed in phases

While the project has received important planning approvals, the final timeline for construction and operations is still being prepared. The corridor may be developed in phases depending on the growth of Noida International Airport and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.

The project is expected to become a long-term high-speed transport link connecting Delhi-NCR directly with the upcoming airport hub in Jewar.
