In April this year, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced Rs 1 crore compensation to those coronavirus warriors who lost their lives in line of duty while fighting COVID-19.

The decision to promulgate an ordinance was taken after the Supreme Court refused to stay the Allahabad High Court's March 9 order for removing the state government's posters displaying photographs and names of the rioters involved in damaging properties during the anti-CAA protests in December last year.

The posters have been put up on the streets of Lucknow following the orders passed by CM Yogi Adityanath. The rioters, who were accused of damaging government property during the anti-CAA protests, have been given notices of recovery for damaging properties.
