SC reprimands DMK led TN govt for banning live telecast of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha event

As per a news report published by Tamil daily Dinamalar on Sunday (21st January), the DMK-led-Tamil Nadu government had reportedly given ‘unofficial verbal directive’ to temples against conducting special prayers and offering Annadanam  on the occasion of Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman voiced her concerns about the repression of religious festivities and the infringement of Hindus' rights by the DMK-led state government.

Tamil daily Dinamalar reported that the DMK-led-Tamil Nadu government had given 'unofficial verbal directive' to temples against conducting special prayers and offering Annadanam (free food) on the occasion of Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha.

BJP leader K Annamalai slammed Dayanidhi Maran over his 'jobless barbers' jibe at those criticising his remarks on north Indian migrants.

Similarly, in February 2021, another such lie glorifying Periyar was busted. Dravidian followers claimed that Periyar was conferred with the Tamrapatra award for his contribution to the Indian freedom movement.

Highlighting anti-Hindi and anti-Sanatan remarks by allies of the Congress party, Kavitha firmly demanded that Rahul Gandhi should come out and prove that he is not anti-Hindu and anti-poor. 

In a post on X, K Annamalai wrote, "The only response from DMK to this video of DMK MP’s slander of our friends in UP & Bihar is that this video is old. How does it change while DMK, a party built on divisive principles, continues to use such language even today? "

Speaking at a public event, DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran said Hindi speakers from Bihar and UP clean toilets and roads in southern states.
