In her complaint, Sunaina Devi, a local resident said that hat a group of men, including Itipas Miya, Sonu Alam, Ehsan Alam, Mansur Alam, Chand Alam, Sohail Miya, Tusar Alam, Raju Alam, Tanveer Alam, Aslam Miya, Kaifi Alam, Waris Alam, Asim Miya, Samu Miya, Saddam Miya, Anim Alam, Roshan Alam, and others, began abusing the procession members, using derogatory terms like “Harijan” to target the Dalit community.

Be it Hanuman Jayanti, Ram Navami, Maha Shivratri, any other festival or the ongoing protests by Islamists against the Waqf Amendment Act, somehow, Islamists find an excuse for attacking Hindus.

It has been reported that most of the injured victims have head injuries due to stone pelting with multiple victims requiring CT scans and surgical intervention. Those injured mostly included men in the age range of 24 to 40.

On 17th March, tensions flared in Nagpur, Maharashtra, as violence erupted over rumours, including the burning of a copy of the Quran and a photograph, during a protest by Hindu groups demanding the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb in Sambhaji Nagar.

In February 2025, Islamists threatened Hindus against celebrating Holi in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. This is nothing new as there are several incidents of Islamists attacking Holi in last few years.

Anjum Ara suggests that Hindus should maintain distance from mosques to avoid clashes. This is basically a warning-cum-threat to Hindus that if you happen to go near a mosque and get seen celebrating your festival, it would be justified for Muslims to get offended, and resort to stone pelting and assaulting Hindus.

The incident took place at Hindustan Chowk in Dumraon village under Ichak block. Many people have been injured in the violence, and are being treated in the Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital. Trainee IPS Shruti Agarwal, BDO Santosh Kumar, CO Ramji Prasad Gupta etc. are camping at the spot.

When the Baraatis objected to this, the situation took a violent turn as a significant number of Islamists gathered and started pelting stones at Hindus and assaulting them. The accused also allegedly robbed jewellery and cash from the wedding procession members
