Asserting that the Congress is "not going to change" the names of four MPs for the government's proposed delegations to foreign countries to explain India's stance on terrorism emanating from Pakistan, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Saturday said that this is "dishonest on the government's part."
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Saturday said that he is "honoured" by the invitation of the government to lead an all-party delegation, and added that when national interest is involved, he will "not be found wanting."
Shashi Tharoor asserted that people of the country, including him, never know about the various terror attacks that were successfully thwarted. "We only get to know about the ones that we failed to thwart," he added.
"I am still wiping the egg off my face because I was one person in the parliamentary debate who actually criticized the Indian position at the time back in February 2022," Tharoor said.
Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Shashi Tharoor on Monday expressed concern over the growing drug menace in Kerala, calling for a united effort to address the issue
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor welcomed the revival of Free Trade Agreement negotiations between India and the United Kingdom. The Thiruvananthapuram MP shared a selfie of him with Britain's Secretary of State, Jonathan Reynolds, and Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal.
In his post, he shared a photograph of a newspaper report titled "Left, BJP and Cong share stage during Kerala investors' meet" and wrote, "Good to see this. Economic development should, as far as possible, be above the petty divisions of party politics."
Shashi Tharoor also said that he was elected as MP four times from Thiruvananthapuram and that if the Congress did not need his services, he had "other options" including speaking tours and books.
