The Ladle Mashaik Dargah has moved the Supreme Court to block Maha Shivaratri puja on February 15. The plea alleges a "strategic pattern" of using interim court orders to bypass the Places of Worship Act and alter the site's religious character.
The Supreme Court noted that encroachment on the forest land has "emerged as one of the gravest challenges confronting environmental governance in the country."
