Suspended TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has sparked controversy by claiming Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee instructed him to make communal remarks during the 2024 elections. Kabir apologized for his past threats against Hindus, alleging the rhetoric was a tactic to secure Yusuf Pathan’s victory.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging breakdown of law and order, women’s insecurity, syndicate control, and infiltration. He said her slogan “Maa, Maati, Maanush” has lost relevance and predicted a decisive BJP victory.

Taking note of Kabir’s apprehensions, the Calcutta High Court chose not to directly order central security.

There was a firm, ‘Ramsetu Infrastructure India Private Limited’, with a similar name and at the same address; however, its name had been removed from the records of the Registrar of Companies (ROC) in August 2018. This firm was incorporated in 2013. This means that this firm had its name struck off from the official records three years before the declared loan was taken.

In Calcutta High Court, TMC's Menaka Guruswamy shouted "mute yourself" at ED's SV Raju for calling Mamata Banerjee "Ms Banerjee," demanding "multiterm CM" respect during I-PAC raid hearing. Her conduct drew eyebrows amid ED's claims of CM interference.

"Objections are being raised for Rahim but not for Ram. The EC cannot divide voters by religion," Manirul Islam said.
