The Namibian government is considering a drastic and controversial measure of culling over 700 wild animals, including elephants and zebras to alleviate the hunger crisis.
Farida was reported missing on the night of 6th June. She went out for some work but did not return home following which a search operation was launched. Village chief Suardi Rosi said while speaking to the media, “Her husband found her belongings, which made him suspicious. The villagers then searched the area. They soon spotted a python with a large belly.”

In his letter, MK Stalin has written that the proposed project site at Pottipuram village in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu falls within the Mathikettan-Periyar tiger corridor as mapped by the National Tiger Conservation Authority and if the project is carried out, it may 'destroy' the genetic flow of the corridor.
