‘No vacancy for Lalu or Sonia’s sons in Bihar or Delhi’: Amit Shah slams RJD-Congress over dynasty politics, says Mahagathbandhan wiped out in the first phase itself

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a public rally in Bihar’s Katihar on Friday, launched a sharp attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, accusing both of promoting dynastic politics. Shah said that the two veteran leaders are “worried” about their sons’ political futures but there are “no seats vacant” for them, neither in Bihar nor in Delhi.

“Lalu ji wants to make his son the Chief Minister and Sonia Gandhi wants to make her son the Prime Minister. But I say from the land of Katihar, neither Lalu ji’s son will become Chief Minister, nor Sonia ji’s son will become Prime Minister. There is no vacancy for them,” Shah declared, amid loud applause from the crowd.

Targeting Opposition’s Chief Ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav, Shah quipped that he agreed with Tejashwi’s remark that PM Modi “cannot do in seven births what Lalu did.” “He’s right,” Shah added sarcastically. “Modi ji cannot do what Lalu ji did because he cannot commit scams in seven births.”

Referring to the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, Shah claimed that the first phase of polling had already “wiped out” the RJD-Congress alliance. “In the first phase, the people of Bihar have laid the foundation for another NDA government with a huge majority,” he said, urging voters in Seemanchal to ensure that “RJD and the jungle raj never return.”

Invoking religious sentiment, Shah also spoke about the upcoming Sita Mata temple in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district. “Sita Mata was born here in Bihar. Shouldn’t there be a grand temple for her here?” he asked the gathering. He informed that two months ago, he and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had performed the bhoomipujan for the Sita Mata temple at Punoura Dham, and assured that a magnificent temple would be completed there within two and a half years.

The rally was part of the BJP’s intensified campaign in Bihar’s Seemanchal region ahead of the second phase of polling, as the NDA seeks to consolidate its position and counter the RJD-led Opposition alliance.
