In Gujarat’s Panchmahal district, a Class 12 student slapped a female invigilator for arriving late to a preliminary examination. The police said the incident took place on January 24, 2026, at S. J. Dev Higher Secondary School in the town of Shehra.
According to reports, the student told the teacher, “No one at home questions me, who are you to question me?” and then assaulted her. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the video later went viral, triggering public outrage.
Police said the accused student, Mohammad Khan Ansari, later returned to the school along with his father and 15–20 others and allegedly threatened the teacher. However, the accused claimed that he had gone there to apologise.
The father also apologised to the teacher and the principal on the same day. The police recreated the crime scene and registered an FIR on Tuesday (February 3, 2026). The accused was arrested and produced before a court, which granted him bail.
