A shocking case has come to light from Kaimur district in Bihar, where a young Hindu woman has accused a Muslim neighbour of raping her while his wife recorded a video of the incident. The woman later approached the police, stating that the Muslim couple used the video to threaten and pressure her. Following her complaint, the police arrested both the husband and the wife and started an investigation.
Complaint filed after days of threats
According to the victim, the incident took place on 4th June in a village under the Ramgarh police station area. She filed a complaint on 9th June, after which police took action against the accused couple, identified as Ikram Ansari (35) and his wife Shahida Begum (26).
The victim told police that after the incident, the couple repeatedly threatened her using the video. She said Ikram wanted to marry her and warned that the footage would be made public if she did not agree. Shahida, according to the complaint, was involved throughout the entire plan.
How the woman came into contact with the couple
The woman said she lived near the couple’s house and often visited their home. Shahida frequently suffered from health problems, and the victim would help her with household work.
She further stated that the couple had been worried because they had not been able to have children after marriage. In 2025, they travelled to Delhi for medical treatment and asked her to accompany them. The victim said she agreed because of Shahida’s health condition. After consulting doctors in Delhi, all three returned to Kaimur.
What happened on June 4
According to the complaint, Shahida called the victim to her house on the evening of 4th June. When she arrived, Ikram was also present. The woman claimed that the couple offered her a cold drink, after which she started feeling unconscious.
The victim said that during this period, her clothes were removed, and Ikram forcibly had physical relations with her while Shahida recorded a video. She said that the recording was later used to threaten and pressure her.
The family confronted the accused
After returning home, the Hindu woman informed her family about the incident. Her relatives then approached the accused couple and asked them to delete the video. However, according to the complaint, they refused to do so.
The victim’s family subsequently contacted the police and filed a formal complaint.
Police action and investigation
Acting on the complaint, police arrested both Ikram Ansari and Shahida Begum. A forensic team also visited the accused’s house to collect evidence related to the case.
Police are continuing their investigation and examining the material collected during the probe. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
