Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) co-convenor Saurav Das peddles lies that Delhi Police personnel forcibly entered Gurudwara Bangla Sahib wearing shoes, without covering their heads and carrying weapons. In a post on X, Das condemned the police action, saying places of worship should never be insulted, regardless of a person’s ideology.
Sikh brothers and sisters have always supported the youngsters. They have never ever discriminated or judged anyone on the basis of religion, caste, class, or race. The Delhi Police’s forced entry into Bangla Sahib, in shoes, no head cover, and with weapons is utterly condemnable. No matter what ideology one belongs to, our places of worship should never be INSULTED in this manner! I request everyone, not just Sikh brothers and sisters, to support the youth in big numbers. This is a shared struggle, for accountability, for a clean system, a brighter future!

“The Delhi Police’s forced entry into Bangla Sahib, in shoes, no head cover, and with weapons is utterly condemnable. No matter what ideology one belongs to, our places of worship should never be INSULTED in this manner!” he wrote.
However, the claims made by Saurav Das are false. Delhi Police has rejected his claim that its personnel entered the main prayer hall in shoes and carrying weapons. According to the police, the personnel were walking through a common passage inside the gurdwara premises and did not enter the Darbar Sahib, the main prayer hall.
Delhi Police clarifies the facts
Delhi Police said the video being circulated on social media shows personnel walking through a common passage used by devotees to reach the point where they remove their shoes before entering the gurdwara. The police clarified that the same process is followed by all devotees visiting the shrine.
The personnel were using a public pathway within the premises and did not enter the Darbar Hall, which is the main sanctum of Bangla Sahib.

FIR registered after DSGMC complaint against Kejriwal, AAP leaders
The controversy followed a protest at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib on Saturday, October 10, when Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and supporters gathered at the premises while heading towards Jantar Mantar for a demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.
On Sunday, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) filed a police complaint against AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders over the disturbance and the circulation of misleading videos and social media posts.
A delegation of DSGMC office-bearers, led by president Harmeet Singh Kalka, submitted the complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of Police’s office in New Delhi district. The committee also provided video footage showing protesters inside the gurdwara premises.
The complaint stated that AAP workers and supporters entered the premises, raised political slogans and staged a protest, disturbing the religious atmosphere and the sanctity of the Guru Ghar. It said the activity hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh Sangat.
Following the complaint, Delhi Police registered an FIR and began examining the video footage submitted by the committee.
What DSGMC president Harmeet Singh Kalka said
DSGMC president Harmeet Singh Kalka criticised AAP leaders for turning the incident into a political issue. He said the gurdwara welcomes people from all walks of life, but its premises should not be used for political demonstrations.

Explaining the incident, Kalka said, “Protesters enter the hall and forcefully try to enter the hall of Gurdwara Sahib. When our staff stopped them, they sat inside the premises of Gurdwara Sahib.”
He also pointed out that protesters were carrying placards and raising slogans inside the premises. According to him, the police arrived to remove the protesters, but AAP leaders later questioned the police action.
“If you send the protesters inside the Gurdwara Sahib and the police comes to take them out, then what else do you want? Do you want these protesters to go inside the hall of Gurdwara Sahib and shout slogans?” Kalka asked.
He further said that no one should be allowed to hold political protests inside the gurdwara. “It is our responsibility to maintain the dignity of Gurdwara Sahib. You can protest as much as you want outside the Gurdwara Sahib,” he said.
Kalka also warned political leaders against using the religious site for political purposes, saying such activities would not be tolerated.
