State govt employees in Tripura could get higher salaries as new CM takes charge

The third decision is to rename the Agartala airport after its the last reigning king of Tripura. Earlier it was known as Agartala airport. Hereafter it will be called as the Maharaj Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Airport.

The Maharaja is known to be a progressive ruler and the architect of modern Tripura. The king is responsible for construction of the airport, and land reforms in the state during his reign before Tripura joined the Indian union.
