Pakistani citizens question PM Imran Khan’s dictate to stop for half an hour for Kashmir, traffic refuse to stop at many places

0

Spurned on every international forum and from almost all countries, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan resorted to a bizarre diktat for his citizens to stand for 30 mins every Friday in order to register their protest against India’s move to abrogate Article 370. However, today, on the first Friday to observe his decree, failed spectacularly as people of Pakistan exhibited little interest in following their Prime Minister’s command.

Many videos have emerged where angry Pakistanis can be seen censuring Pakistan PM Imran Khan for his edict for ordinary Pakistanis to stop doing their work for 30 mins. Slamming Imran Khan’s move, many prominent Pakistani personalities have tweeted abysmal participation of people in the initiative.

Salman Rashid, a renowned author of 10 books in Pakistan, claimed that he climbed the roof to see how many “morons” (Pakistanis) came out on streets following their PM’s command. However, he said that not a soul had come out to join the protest. He proceeded to say, “Sala chootiyon ko chootiya bana rahe hai”.

In a video shared by a quick-witted Pakistani journalist Naila Inayat, only four Pakistanis can be seen listlessly trying to stop traffic in Lahore’s busy Liberty square. However, not a single car, nor pedestrians strolling around the square bothered to join the protest with them.

Naila also shared two other videos in which distressed Pakistanis are seen protesting against Imran Khan’s move. Traffic has been halted at many places but people are now questioning, what the government actually aims to achieve by having such nationwide protest.

In another video shared by Naila, one Pakistani citizen who appeared agitated by Khan’s decision to hold a protest across the nation by standing silently for 30 minutes said that it’s of no use as “Modi would fly from above”.

In most places where the traffic stopped by police or activists by blocking the roads. Many Pakistani netizens questioned the purpose of the move, asking what it has achieved apart from causing traffic jam.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js In a hilarious concidence, Pakistan Railway minister, while addressing a public rally during Kashmir hour suffered an electric shock just after he mentioned PM Modi in his speech.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan had issued orders for government functionaries and departments to conform to his announcement of leaving their work and join the protest in solidarity with Kashmiris by standing for 30 minutes from 12 PM to 12:30 PM PST.

Even the Pakistan Railway trains were also forced to join the protest as per the PM’s order. All the trains that run in Pakistan, all 138 of them, stopped for 1 minute today and the Pakistani national anthem was played during that time. One only wonders if Pakistani planes flying in Pakistan also had to stop mid-air for a minute to adhere to Imran’s diktat.

Tamil Nadu: Unexploded bomb diffused 4 days after blast near temple pond that killed 2

An unexploded shell was discovered at premises of Gangai Amman Temple in Kanchipuram district’s Manampathi where a recent blast had killed 2 and injured 4 people. According to an India Today report, the Tamil Nadu police, along with the bomb detection and disposal squad defused the bomb on Friday.

As per reports, the unexploded shell was high-explosive anti-tank ammunition. It was allegedly left there by a scrap shop owner who had relocated. The report states that another shell was discovered and diffused by the bomb squad on Monday.

At least two people had been killed and four injured in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram district on August 25 (Sunday) when an unidentified object found near a temple pond suddenly blew up.

Reportedly, the incident happened behind the Gangai Amman Koil in Manampathi, near Tirupathur in Kanchipuram district. However, the police said the incident was not connected with the current terrorist alert in the state.

In the blast, a 22-year-old named Surya, and another person had succumbed to injuries while four others including Jayaram (28), Dileepan (25), Yuvaraj (25) and Thirumal (22) had been severely injured. They had been admitted to Chengalpattu Government Hospital.

The explosion had taken place at an unused pond behind the temple tank. Samples had been collected from the blast spot by the Police to ascertain whether it was an IED blast or not.

After the blast, the Tamil Nadu police had cordoned off the entire pond. The bomb squad, consisting of ex-servicemen, had combed the entire area using a bomb detector and a sniffer dog.

Recently, the state of Tamil Nadu was put on high alert following inputs that that six Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists may have entered Coimbatore from Sri Lanka for possible attacks in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The security agencies had reportedly alerted that the terrorists might disguise themselves as Hindus to avoid detection.

“Modi ka kutta haaye haaye” slogans fill the air in Pakistan as protestors echo ‘tukde tukde gang’ slogans during ‘Kashmir Hour’

0

On Friday, the people of the terrorist state of Pakistan observed ‘Kashmir Hour’ by literally standing on roads and other public places to express solidarity with Kashmiris, following the abrogation of Article 370 by the Narendra Modi government. Pakistan PM Imran Khan had asked the Pakistanis to observe the Kashmir Hour after the Friday Namaj today.

Pakistan, just like its economic situation, came to a standstill for almost 30 minutes from 12-12:30 PM on Friday as people country came out of their homes, offices, businesses to stand to shout slogans of ‘Azaadi’ to stand as a mark of solidarity with the people in Kashmir.

The so-called solidarity march was a response to Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s message to Pakistanis to come out at 12 noon -12.30 pm on Friday to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people and send the Kashmiris a clear message that the entire Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with them.

Interestingly, most of the Pakistanis raised slogans of Azaadi similar to the slogans often shouted by the comrades and other ultra-left wing members of Tukde Tukde gang in India. Ironically, Pakistanis were shouting Azaadi slogans to demand independence from their own country.

As Prime Minister Modi mostly ignores the parody country Pakistan, the citizens of Pakistan directed their anger against the “dogs domesticated by Prime Minister Modi”. They shouted “Modi ka kutta haye haye”.

The most bizarre part of today’s Pakistan protest included the stoppage of all trains in Pakistan for a span of 60 seconds and playing of the national anthem was also organised at the same time to mark their protest. But, the duration of Pakistani national anthem is roughly 80 seconds while trains stopped only for 60 seconds as a mark of protest.

Pakistan’s Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, who was greeted with eggs last week in London, had declared yesterday that all the 138 trains that run in Pakistan will stop for a minute from 12 to 12.30 PM as a mark of for support for Kashmir.

As entire Pakistan allegedly stopped working for 30 minutes, there has been a debate across the media regarding the speculative losses that the country may have incurred following their Friday drama. The general agreeable theory is that Pakistan had a ‘zero loss’ following their protest as its economy is already in shambles and these losses would just get absorbed just as usual behaviour.

UP girl who went missing after accusing Swami Chinmayanand of sexual abuse found in Rajasthan with friend, to be produced in SC today

The law student from Uttar Pradesh, who went ‘missing’ for nearly a week, after releasing a video in which she accused BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand of sexual abuse, was traced in Rajasthan today.

The Uttar Pradesh police said the woman had been found with a friend and was being taken home. “In the Shahjahanpur episode, the girl has been located by Shahjahanpur police in Rajasthan along with her friend. Necessary legal action is being taken,” the police said in a tweet.

Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police OP Singh has confirmed that the Uttar Pradesh police searched for her in many places across Delhi, UP and Rajasthan and used digital surveillance to track her down. She is hale and hearty. It seems she went out of her own will to various places,” DGP OP Singh said. This claim by police contradicts the apprehensions that the girl may have been abducted.

After the Uttar Pradesh police apprised the Supreme Court that the girl was traced in Rajasthan, the apex court asked the counsel appearing for the state to apprise it of the exact location of the woman within five minutes and also that by when she can be produced before it. The counsel for UP police informed the court that the girl was being brought back by police, and they had reached Fatehpur Sikri.

When the court said that the girl is in safe hands now as she is with police, Shobha Gupta opposed that by saying that she can’t be sure about that, and demanded that the girl be produced via video link. But the UP Police objected to it, saying as the girl has made allegations of sexual harassment, she can’t be named and can’t be brought before the camera. The police counsel assured the court that the girl is safe with police.

When the court was recording the statements, UP police requested that it should be recorded that the girl was found with a boy. But Shobha Gupta opposed recording that fact. The UP police also asked that the boy should be produced before the court, but the court refused that. The court asked the girl to be produced in court in 2-2.5 hours, and said that they will only talk to the girl, not the boy who was accompanying her.

The Court had taken suo motu cognizance of the incident after a group of lawyers had written a letter to the Court urging for the same. The matter was mentioned before the Bench headed by Justice NV Ramanaon Wednesday.

When the suo motu case was taken up for hearing today by the Bench of Justices R Banumathi and AS Bopanna, Advocate Shobha Gupta appearing for the girl, opposed the recording of the fact that a boy was present with the girl and the court agreed to not include his presence in the recorded statement.

The LLM student from the Swami Shukdevanand Law College (SS Law College) in Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh had released a video on social media on August 23, levelling allegations of sexual harassment against BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand.

In the video posted on Friday, the girl alleged that Chinmayanand, the director of her college, is threatening to kill her and her family as she has evidence that could land him in trouble. She asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath for help.

The student, however, went missing three days after the allegations were made. Recently, a new twist was added to this week-long matter. The girl was traced in New Delhi, along with a boy who reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore from Chinamayanand.

A senior Uttar Pradesh Police officer had confirmed yesterday that a CCTV footage which had been retrieved from a hotel in Dwarka in Delhi establishes the presence of the victim with the boy, who reportedly made an extortion call to Swami Chinmayanand. Copy of the girl’s Aadhaar card was found in the hotel she had stayed. They had left the hotel before police had arrived there.

Earlier, Swami Chinmayanand had stated that he was being framed in the case as a part of a big conspiracy to malign the Uttar Pradesh government’s reputation. “This is a conspiracy against me and the girl in question is a part of it. There are four other boys who had earlier tried to blackmail me and extort money,” said the former Union Minister.

Income Tax department dismisses rumours of another extension of due date for Tax filling

The Income Tax department has issued an advisory putting to rest social media rumours about another extension of due date for filing the Income Tax return. The department has asked citizens to file the returns within the extended due date of August 31, 2019.

According to the Central Board of Direct Taxes, some fraudulent reports of another extension of the due date for filing Income Tax returns have been doing the rounds on social media websites. The CBDT had already relaxed the earlier due date of filing Income Tax returns from July 31, 2019, by about one month and asked the taxpayers to file their returns by August 31, 2019.

Himachal Pradesh assembly passes bill against forced conversions, proposes strict norms

The Himachal Pradesh assembly today passed the Himachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Bill, 2019. The Bill prohibits religious conversion by misrepresentation, force, undue influence, coercion, inducement, marriage or any fraudulent means. The BJP government in Himachal Pradesh had tabled the bill in the Assembly today against conversion by force or inducement and through marriages conducted for the “sole purpose” of conversion. The government said it was a necessary step considering the rise in forced conversions in the state.

The Bill is designed to replace the Himachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 2006. It will not apply to those who wish to reconvert to their parent religion. The Bill will be taken up for discussion on Friday after it was tabled, and later the bill was approved by the house.

Section 7 of the Act mandates that anyone who wishes to convert to another religion will have to inform the District Magistrate a month in advance, stating that the conversion is of his own accord. The priest who performs the conversion ceremony is also required to do inform authorities a month in advance.

The jail term for the fraudulent conversion of Dalits, women, and minors will be between two to seven years. For the fraudulent conversion of others, it is one to five years. A fraudulent marriage for the sole purpose of conversion can be deemed null and void under section 5 of the Act. Section 10 of the Act mandates that any person or organization violating the provisions of the Act will not be allowed to receive any donations from within or outside the country.

“It has been observed that there is a rise in conversions by fraudulent means and unless checked well in time, this practice may erode the confidence and mutual trust between the different ethnic and religious groups”, Chief Minister Thakur said while introducing the Bill.

Captain Amarinder Singh asks Pakistan PM Imran Khan to take strong action over forced conversion of Sikh girl in Pakistan

0

A shocking incident of a Sikh girl being forcibly converted to Islam in Pakistan has come to fore. Strongly protesting against the horrific act, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh slammed Pakistan PM Imran Khan for ensuring safety of minorities in his country.

Expressing disgust over the incident, Captain Amarinder Singh emphatically demanded Imran Khan to take action against the perpetrators and requested External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar to strongly take up the matter with Pakistani counterpart over the forced conversion of a Sikh girl into Islam.

Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh too echoed similar sentiments and demanded Imran Khan to take strong action to be initiated in this case. He also tweeted that every religion is beautiful and that people should not assume God’s responsibilities and let Him decide which religion one borns into.

Following widespread condemnation of the forced conversion of the Sikh girl in Nanakana Sahib(Lahore), Pakistan Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar has instituted an investigation into the matter.

It is pertinent to note that the appalling incident of forced conversion of a Sikh girl happened in a country whose ‘selected’ head of the state, Imran Khan was raising false alarms and creating hysteria over alleged atrocities against minorities in India after Article 370 was abrogated by the Modi government.

The Hindu ‘journalist’ spreads misleading information, issues sermons to senior police officer after he questions propaganda

As the situation in Kashmir is returning back to normalcy in the Kashmir valley after the historic abrogation of Article 370, it seems that the ‘liberal-secular’ media industry and their minions are resentful about the decision made by the Modi government and it is being manifested lately in their Kashmir reportage.

In a similar case of outrage, a ‘journalist’ working for left-wing media- The Hindu, which is at the forefront of false propaganda, resorted to abusing and sermonising a senior police officer, asking him to ‘perform his duty’ after he exposed her dubious claims pertaining to the situation in the Kashmir.

Vijaita Singh tweeted a report which claimed 36 Kashmiri people had suffered pellet injuries since August 5. Vijaita had based her report on an anonymous ‘senior government official’ who was citing data from the ‘records’ with the ‘hospital authorities’ in Srinagar. She does not name which hospital she was speaking of. Vijaita Singh in her report claims that security officials have injured 36 people for participating in various protests.

Responding to these misleading reports, Jammu and Kashmir Police officer Pranav Mahajan hit back at the Hindu ‘journalist’ by clearly stating that the ‘injured’ Kashmiris mentioned in her report were actually out defying the orders, taking the law into their hands, provoking and protesting in an illegal way.

Putting an end to the negative campaign run by some of the media including the Hindu against the security forces, Mahajan said that the numbers of the ‘injured’ could have been much higher. However, due to thorough professionalism and unfathomable restraint displayed by security personnel, it has been very low.

Pranav Mahajan also accused Vijaita Singh of being blindfolded and of having a myopic vision for carrying out such misleading reports pertaining to the situation in Kashmir.

As ‘journalist’ Vijaita Singh could not provide a logical explanation to her claims, an arrogant Singh began to sermon the senior police officer regarding his duties only to get embarrassed by the police officer one more time. Quite arrogantly, she asked him to ‘get working’ as he is a policeman it was already 9:30 am.

Mahajan politely told her that 9:30 may be time to ‘start’ working for those who have the luxury of sleeping, waking up and having breakfast. For people like him on duty, they cannot afford it since they are already out and about carrying on with their work.

After failing to push their Rafale propaganda against the Narendra Modi government during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the left-wing news organisation seems to be hell-bent on putting pressure on the government with their pro-separatist reportage in the ongoing Kashmir situation.

The Hindu has been publishing a series of propaganda reports, editorials to fear-monger and to incite people in the valley following the abrogation of Article 370. Recently, Suhasini Haider, National Editor of The Hindu, was also caught twice for spreading misleading information regarding the ongoing situation in Kashmir.

Even today, senior IAS officer Shahid Choudhary, Development Commissioner, Srinagar, had shared his disappointment over the false propaganda spread by the media regarding the alleged health crisis in the state. Targetting some of the media-houses both in the country and other global ones, Choudhary said the reports chilled his spine and asserted that truth has to be upheld.

There was a series of reports in the media in the last couple of days, stating that the state of Jammu and Kashmir is facing a major health crisis. Responding to the misinformation, Choudhary clarified that nearly 94% of the doctors are on duty in the state.

Echoing the sentiments of Shahid Choudhary, Jammu and Kashmir Police officer Imtiyaz Hussain also said that the only epidemic that Kashmiris are enduring as of now is ‘Propaganda Epidemic’.

Following the repealing of special status, some of the sections of media, political parties, the intelligentsia had hoped that violence would erupt in Kashmir valley as a mark of protest against the Modi government’s decision. As normalcy is returning back to Kashmir, the ‘liberal-secular’ forces seem to be in discomfort and have now resorted to putting pro-Pakistan agenda to discredit the Narendra Modi government’s decision to correct the historic blunder.

Sanjay Jha wants ‘Alexa’ to be the next Finance Minister of India, Twitter reminds him of Congress’ experiments with robotics

Congress’ national spokesperson Sanjay Jha, whose alleged secret desires of becoming a dancer was the topic of discussion on social media recently, has made another statement that is bound to get the floodgates of jokes opened, towards Congress party itself.

Jha stated on Twitter that it would be better for India if ‘Alexa’, Amazon’s virtual assistant with a lovely female voice, becomes the next finance minister of India.

Sanjay Jha via Twitter

Jha might have intended it as a pun towards our current finance minister who happens to be a woman, but the irony of a Congress spokesperson tweeting about a ‘robotic’ finance minister was not going to be ignored by netizens.

Twitter users reminded Jha of the decade between 2004 and 2009 when, as per them, India was being ruled by a virtual assistant of Congress’ boss-lady.

Another Twitter user pointed it to Jha that Alexa may be a better choice for the post of Congress president, taking a dig at the months-long drama over the post when Rahul Gandhi kept denying and Congress finally ‘elected’ his mother Sonia Gandhi as the interim president.

Sanjay Jha is known for often trying to give cryptic statements that may sound like criticism for the NDA government initially, but are actually jokes on Congress itself. Earlier, he had equated Karti Chidambaram, his party’s leader and P Chidambaram’s son with fugitive money launderers like Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya.

Witness identifies Father Thomas Kottoor and Father Jose Puthrukkayil in the 1992 Sister Abhaya murder case

The Sister Abhaya murder case, one of the longest-running murder investigation in Kerala, has now taken a twist after a key witness testified before a special court that he had seen two men including Father Thomas Kottoor in the St Pius X convent compound in Kottayam on the day when the Sister Abhaya was found murdered in the well of the convent.

According to the reports, Adakka Raju gave a statement in the CBI court identifying Christian priest Father Thomas Kottoor, the first accused in the case. Raju said that the priest was seen in the St Pius X convent in the wee hours of March 27, 1992, the day Sister Abhaya was alleged to be murdered.

Earlier, he had given a statement to the CBI and the magistrate that he saw the two Christian priests in the convent on the night he had gone there to steal copper plates from the terrace.

“I had been on the terrace for stealing copper components of the lightning conductor installed atop the convent building. I had committed theft on two days and was there on the third day looking for the remaining copper components. I saw two men walking up the stairs with a torch and they were seen surveying the surroundings. One of them was a tall man and the other one was Fr Thomas Kottoor, who is in this court. As they were there, I abandoned my plan and left the place,” Raju told the CBI special court.

During the examination by CBI prosecutor, Raju identified Father Kottoor, who was also present in the court. Raju told the court that he identified both Father Kottoor and Father Jose Puthrukkayil, who was later discharged from the case after CBI summoned him for an identification parade after the arrest of the accused in the case in 2008.

Raju had earlier given a sworn statement to the judicial first-class magistrate in Ernakulam. He also levelled serious allegations against the crime branch team, which had initially probed the case. He said he had been picked up by the crime branch sleuths and kept in custody for almost 60 days.

“Samuel sir (crime branch officer) asked me to own up the crime. He said I would get a new house, my kids would get a good education and my wife would get a new job if I agreed to the proposal. I was brutally tortured in custody with my hands and knees tied up. I had thought of owning up the crime at one point. But, by that time, another person, who landed up in the custody, helped me by informing the court about my plight. Then, I was handed over to Kottayam West police where I was booked for a theft case,” said Raju.

However, during the cross-examination, advocate B Raman Pillai representing the Christian priests listed out around 10 criminal cases in which Raju had been an accused. He said Raju had been a juvenile delinquent and admitted to juvenile home for two years.

Raju did not deny accusations made by lawyer Pillai, which included cases of stabbing a man and abetting the suicide bid of his own wife. The defence lawyer tried hard to prove that the witness had a questionable character and his statements could not be taken on face value. The cross-examination of Raju will continue on Friday.

Sister Abhaya, a Catholic sister, was found dead in Saint Pius X Convent in Kottayam on 27 March 1992. Abhaya was a member of St. Joseph’s Congregation for religious sisters under the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archeparchy of Kottayam, Kerala.

Initially, the local police which investigated the case had closed it with a theory of suicide. The Crime Branch which took up the investigation also later tried to strengthen the suicide theory, with claims of psychological illness of the deceased.

However, with CBI taking charge of the probe concluded that it was indeed a murder and found two priests and a sister responsible for the murder and arrested them on 19 November 2008. Father Jose Poothrikkayil, Father Thomas M. Kottur and Sister Sephys are all accused of murdering Sister Abhaya, whose body was mysteriously found in convent hostel’s well.
