Twinkle takes out all her anger on Tweets against me, so your family life must be peaceful: PM Modi says to Akshay Kumar

In a candid and non-political conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actor Akshay Kumar asked Prime Minister Modi if he actively follows people on Twitter and the conversations taking place on the social media.

During the conversation, Akshay Kumar asked Prime Minister Modi whether he himself follows and interact with the people on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Responding to Akshay Kumar, PM Modi brought up the name of the actor’s wife Twinkle Khanna and shared his experience regarding the criticism he receives from the former actress.

“I follow you (Akshay Kumar) and Twinkle Khanna Ji on Twitter. From the way she targets me, I understand there must be peace in your family life,” said PM Modi, leaving Akshay Kumar in splits. “She takes out all her anger on me, so your marital life at home must be peaceful,” joked PM Modi.

The apparent reference of Twinkle Khanna’s tweets by PM Modi comes as a response to the usual criticism mounted by the former actress against the NDA government, particularly against PM Modi. On one side, while actor Akshay Kumar acknowledges the positive transformation that is being brought in the country under the leadership of Narendra Modi, his wife Twinkle Khanna holds a rather opposite view on the present government.

The PM also mentioned that he had known and interacted with Khanna’s maternal grandfather in the past when some Mumbai-based businessmen had provided help to run buttermilk kiosks in Gujarat for the poor.

In the past, Twinkle Khanna has attempted to mock Prime Minister Modi but only to be embarrassed for making such comments. Last year, Twinkle Khanna had mocked the idea of Acche Din by claiming that how every day is April Fool’s day for us and that we Indians just call it as ‘Acche Din’.

Twinkle Khanna, daughter of former Congress MP Rajesh Khanna, in the past has used false equivalence to ridicule some of the initiatives of Prime Minister Modi. In one such issue, she had tried to attack the NDA government for taxing sanitary pads with misleading facts and narratives.

Following the interview, Twinkle Khanna reacted on Twitter, “I have a rather positive way of looking at this – Not only is the Prime Minister aware that I exist but he actually reads my work.”

Wedding venues in West Bengal ‘instructed’ to play TMC theme songs instead of Shehnai : Report

Sensing a fall in clout for Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress has now resorted to pressurising wedding venue owners to promote and campaign for Trinamool Congress by playing TMC party theme songs instead of wedding music, reports India Today.

According to a report in India Today, the Trinamool Congress has instructed owners of marriage venues to play the campaign songs of the party in the events. Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has allegedly instructed them to play these songs in between the shehnai music.

In one such incident in a community hall in Jadavpur, the Trinamool party had instructed the owners of the venue to play songs that celebrate different projects launched by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

“While renting out we told the hosts about the condition. Those who agree to it get the banquet hall. After all, we don’t want to take any risks,” said an owner to India Today.

Reportedly, the party workers of the CPIM also revealed that how Trinamool Congress controls community halls in the area. According to CPIM workers, the wedding venue owners do not have a choice and are under compulsion to do whatever Trinamool Congress asks them to do. They added that playing TMC songs during the wedding is not surprising.

The report states that it is not limited to weddings. Even several Durga Puja committees had played Mamata Banerjee’s new album. Shockingly, the local police had distributed the cassettes and asked the puja committees to play them.

Apart from music, Mamata Banerjee’s promotions have also reached eatery shops as some of them in South Kolkata are selling food items like masala muri and fish fry by naming it after Mamata Banerjee. Reportedly, one of the owners of an eatery shop said that “Didi” in the menu card is an innovative way to reach out to voters, who know both these items are Mamata Banerjee’s favourite.

“Casting vote is just like celebrating a festival like IPL matches and World Cup matches. If we can have cocktails and mocktails named after IPL teams, why can’t we have recipes dedicated to polls?” the owner asked.

The entry of BJP into West Bengal has changed the political equation in the state, which has pushed Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress into a corner. Desperate to secure as many seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Trinamool Congress seems to be engaging such desperate measures to influence voters.

If you believe Google trends, this election is a runaway win for Modi

Let me show you a picture:

Untitled.png

The blue regions of the country show more interest in BJP, whereas the red regions show an interest in Congress.

If you could ever capture the big Congress revival in one single image, this would be it.

So, how does this image tie-up with the headline of this post? That’s because this is a snapshot of Google trends from Sept 1, 2018, to Dec 1, 2018: the three months that led up to the big Assembly polls in Hindi heartland states. Observe how all three states, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are visibly lighted up in red splashed across the face of India. Here is the rest of that screenshot:

Untitled.png

Yes, all this while people were calculating and guessing about results of Hindi heartland states, Google knew. In its infinite wisdom, Google knew what was going to happen. The writing was on the wall.

As with the rest of the world, India is slowly waking up to the power of big data. Think about it. If you knew what every person in the country was thinking, you would know who is winning the election. And today that “every” person has a smartphone and access to the internet, Google knows what people are interested in.

Now let us see what Google trends say about the last 3 months (BJP vs Congress)

Untitled.png

What a change! From big splashes of red to a uniform ocean of blue (Fun question: Can you name the tiny northeastern state in the corner which appears to be the only state in red?)

Google’s wisdom is clear. BJP is winning.

Okay, just to make sure we are not picking up aberrations: we all know BJP got a spike in popularity after air strikes in Balakot. Is this lead still there?

So here is the data for the last 1 month.

Untitled.png

And for the last 7 days:

Untitled.png

Hardly any change, with exception of (undivided) Andhra Pradesh where BJP has hardly any stakes. Interestingly, notice how the graphic also shows that the BJP’s advantage is highest in West Bengal and Odisha. The two “greenfield” states that BJP is hoping to capture.

A few days back, I said that the best barometer for how BJP perceives Bengal will be visible in the PM’s campaign. If he goes to smaller places to do rallies, it means he senses a high return from Bengal. You can see PM Modi spending time in Buniadpur in West Bengal for a massive rally 3 days ago. I swear I had never heard of this place before in my life. Apparently, it’s somewhere in North Bengal. Modi going to these “unknown” places means he senses victory.

You know what ‘liberals’ are going to say at this point. That BJP voters are “urban upper caste rich, blah blah blah…” and hence BJP would get over-represented on the internet. They do not even know how outdated such thinking is.

The internet revolution has been around a long time. Which means that BJP lost its “first mover advantage” a very long time ago on the internet. This is not 2014. Anybody who is on social media and does not have their eyes closed will say that the Congress online propaganda machine is formidable… and in many ways more nimble-footed than that of BJP.

In fact, this is one of the reasons I put up the Google trends data from September to December 2018 at the top of my post. It acts as a “control” for us to check the effectiveness of Google Trends as a barometer. We now know that except for Chhattisgarh, there was no wave at all for Congress in the Hindi heartland. The Congress barely scraped through in both Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. And yet, Google Trends data managed to pick up this tiny excess of Congress over BJP.

Shows you how sensitive Trends data is in picking up even a slight pro-Congress mood. In Madhya Pradesh, Congress didn’t even get more votes than BJP. But Google Trends was still able to pick up the fact that Congress voters were perhaps a wee bit more enthusiastic than BJP.

So the fact that BJP uniformly leads over the Congress right now according to Google Trends tells you who is winning.

Let’s take a moment to look at the personalities. What about Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi? The numbers are so bad for Rahul Gandhi, this is almost embarrassing for him.

Untitled.png

Whoa! Don’t just look at Modi’s lead. Look at the scale of it.

Untitled.png

In the most crucial state of Uttar Pradesh, Modi leads 92% to 8%!  According to Google, the interest in Modi is 12 times as much as the interest in Rahul!

In fact, other than TN or Kerala or Nagaland, there isn’t a single state where Modi’s number is below 80%. In Maharashtra, it is 83%. It is 91% in Bihar, 88% in Bengal and 86% in Odisha! Rajasthan is at 88% and Madhya Pradesh at 85%.  Those are huge numbers!

How will a party get votes if people do not have the slightest interest in what their leader has to say?

It seems that despite all the big image makeovers and non-stop praise from Lutyens, the common person in the country simply isn’t interested in what Rahul Gandhi has to say.

It’s fairly clear: Congress hasn’t managed to get its message out.  If you ask Google Trends, this election is over. The writing is on the wall.

Sri Lankan millionaire’s family was an ISIS cell: Suicide bombers shatter shameless excuses peddled by ‘liberals’ to justify Islamic terrorism

As the investigations for the horrible Easter Sunday bombings continue, more bizarre details are beginning to emerge. Apart from the fact that the Christian-targeted attack killed over 359 people and has left over 500 people injured, the most unusual aspect of the Sunday’s terrorist attacks is that two of the suicide bombers were found to be the sons of one of Sri Lanka’s richest men, spice trader Mohammad Yusuf Ibrahim.

Mohammad Yusuf Ibrahim is one of Sri Lanka’s most prominent, successful and richest men. He is also a prominent figure in the country’s left-leaning Janatha Vimukti Peramuna Party. He is also a close friend of Sri Lanka’s minister of trade and industry Rasheeth Badruddin and has often attended parties and receptions hosted by former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Mohammad Yusuf Ibrahim’s two sons, Imsath Ahmed Ibrahim(33) and Ilham Ahmed Ibrahim (31) were the two suicide bombers who had detonated explosives and blown themselves up at the breakfast buffet of the Shangri-La and Cinnamon Grand hotels, killing dozens of people along with them.

The police had closed in on the Ibrahim family when they discovered that one of the two brothers had entered the hotel with his real name.

As per a report in Firstpost, When the police entered the luxury home in Deamatagoda to conduct searches, they found it to be booby-trapped with explosives. Ilham’s wife Fathima reportedly set off another bomb killing herself, her own three children and three policemen.

Intelligence sources have reportedly stated that the family might have been an operational cell of the ISIS, from the level of expertise and the attempt to wipe out evidence by blowing up their luxury apartment by the terrorists’ wife, the police now suspect the involvement of other family members. Investigators have stated that the extended family is now being investigated into too.

The spice trader Yusuf Ibrahim and his third son Ijas are now being questioned by the police.

The most crucial link, however, can be the millionaire’s fugitive son Ismail, who is the youngest. As per reports, Ismail Ibrahim has been a fugitive after Sri Lankan forces had discovered stockpiles of explosives at a compound at Wanathawillua earlier this year, where the Easter Sunday attackers are now believed to have been trained.

Late last year, Ismail Ibrahim and his associates were allegedly involved in the attacks where they had attempted to destroy Buddhist shrines ancient monuments at Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s ancient capital city. In late 2018, there were a series of anti-Buddhist hate crimes in Sri Lanka.

It has been revealed now that the bombers were acting on behalf of ISIS. In a video released by its mouthpiece AMAQ, ISIS had yesterday claimed responsibility for the Sri Lanka attacks.

In a 59-second video released yesterday by the AMAQ, ISIS’s media mouthpiece, Zahran Hashmi, the alleged mastermind of the attacks is seen taking a pledge with the alleged suicide bombers, pleading their allegiance to the Islamic Caliphate and the caliphate’s self-proclaimed leader, Abu-Bakr Al Baghdadi.

As per reports, the Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) had warned the Sri Lankan authorities earlier this month about a possible terrorist attack targeting places frequented by tourists and Indian nationals. The Sri Lankan government had declared that the National Thowheed Jama’ath (NTJ) was behind the attacks. But now that the ISIS has claimed responsibility, the roots and the international support system of the radical Muslim outfits in Sri Lanka seems to run a lot deeper.

The Easter Sunday attacks are being regarded as one of the most sophisticated attacks in recent years. The bombs were all highly impactful and were detonated at precise locations with impeccable timing, ensuring maximum impact and maximum casualties.

The Sri Lankan attacks also give rise to some very serious questions. Ranil Wickremesinghe, the prime minister has already admitted that their government simply failed to act on prior warnings and intelligence. The government has accepted that the attacks were a result of ‘colossal intelligence failure’ on their part.  Apart from the obvious intelligence failure and security lapses in their system, the involvement of Ibrahim’s family takes it to a whole another level.

All over the world, the terrorist attacks by radical Islamists are immediately served with long and extensive excuses about how social ills, discrimination, poverty, lack of education, hardships and atrocities lead to terrorism. Even dreaded ISIS terrorists and their brides are painted by a section of media as the victims of torture and discrimination. Even in the Sri Lanka bombings, the left-liberal cabal had jumped in immediately to paint the attacks as a result of social oppression meted out by the Buddhist majority.

In India, self-proclaimed liberals and even journalists like Barkha Dutt have mirrored the Nazis in the past to sympathise with terrorists. All in the name of giving Islamic terrorism a context, the massacre of Kashmiri Hindus was painted as a result of ‘economic domination’ and social inequality as an excuse for the killings, just like the Nazis argued for killing the Jews.

The excuses of oppression, lack of education and other ‘reasoning’ the terror sympathisers often give, have been shattered by Islamic terrorists again and again. Osama Bin Laden was an engineer, Al Zawahiri is a doctor, hundreds of educated, affluent youngsters from families living in the UK, Australia, and the USA had gone to join the ISIS.

However, the involvement of the Ibrahim family shatters all those narratives. The family was rich, politically connected and lived in luxury most Sri Lankans cannot even dream of. It also raises questions on how, even after the suspected involvement of the youngest son in terrorist activities, the family escaped scrutiny and succeeded in carrying out the training, recruitment, logistics, and planning involved in such a large scale attack.

Mamata Banerjee sends kurtas and sweets for him says PM Modi in a freewheeling chat with filmstar Akshay Kumar

Political rivalry aside, Prime Minister Modi in a non-political conversation with filmstar Akshay Kumar, said that even now TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sends him kurtas and sweets. The interview which was streamed by news agency ANI earlier today touched upon the non-political aspects of his life. Speaking on his cordial relations with the leaders in the opposition parties, PM Modi said, he has quite a few friends in the opposition.

He said that even today Mamata ‘Didi’ personally selects kurtas for him and sends them. He even added that once he met Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and when she got to know Prime Minister’s liking for Bengali sweets, Hasina started sending sweets for the PM from Dhaka. When Banerjee got to know of the sweets exchange, even she started sending sweets to PM Modi.

Taking a sly dig at the Gandhis and Congress for perpetuating dynasty politics, Prime Minister Modi said that he never thought he would be the Prime Minister. He said, “I think every one who becomes the Prime Minister didn’t think they would become the Prime Minister some day. Unless their entire family has been like that and had such a background and they have such aspirations, then it is natural.” He explained that the humble family background that he comes from, his mother would have distributed sweets even if he had managed to find a simple job somewhere.

Akshay Kumar has recently made a few commercially successful films which have touched upon the schemes of the central government as well as a social message which the government has been trying to convey. His film Toilet – Ek Prem Katha was dismissed by the ‘liberals’ as a propaganda film because it was a love story where the problem of open defecation and importance of having a toilet inside the house were dealt with.

On a lighter note, Kumar asked Prime Minister Modi what would he wish for if he gets Aladin’s lamp which could fulfil 3 wishes. Modi said that if at all he gets such a lamp which fulfils wishes, he would wish to inscribe it in the heads of the educationists that they let the coming generation know that such things like wish-fulfilling lamps don’t exist and that they need to work hard to achieve their goals.

He added that he has no personal possessions and whatever he was entitled to as a chief minsiter and as an MLA or even as a Prime Minister, he has given it all up.

Taking a dig at the sassy and enterprising Gujaratis and Amdavadis, Prime Minister Modi even cracked a jokes on the community. He joked, that once upon a time, a train stopped at a station and a passenger asked someone on the platform which station has arrived. The young boy said, if you give me four annas, I will tell you which station it is. The passenger dismissed the boy saying he now knows he has reached Amdavad. Ahmedabad is colloquially referred to as Amdavad by the local people.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s non-political, casual interaction with Prime Minister Modi drew criticism from the usual suspects. Of course, without understanding that Akshay Kumar is not a journalist and this was not a political interview where he was to ask ‘tough questions’. Former journalist-turned-politician-turned-journalist again Ashutosh was quick to refer to the interview as ‘planted and pliable’.

Ashutosh himself has written a book praising Arvind Kejriwal, who allegedly got beaten up by his own MLAs last week, referring to Kejriwal as ‘hope’.

AAP’s blogger in chief Rifat Jawaid was on a completely different tangent floating bizarre conspiracy theories.

Others, like this NDTV ‘journalist’, wanted Kumar to ask tough questions to Modi.

We all know how former NDTV ‘journalist’ once ‘interviewed’ the ‘Tigress’ Sonia Gandhi asking her tough questions like when did she first meet Indira Gandhi. Or the time when another ‘journalist’ fawned over Rahul Gandhi’s pet dog Pidi.

Prime Minister Modi said he likes to keep himself updated on what is happening in social media so that he knows what is happening in the outer world. “I see the Twitter accounts of yours and your wife Twinkle’s. And the way she takes out her anger on me, I am sure your family life would be quite peaceful,” Modi said in a lighter vein. Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle, is a very vocal critic of Prime Minister Modi while her husband has maintained a politically correct stand.

Thankfully, Twinkle Khanna has her sense of humour intact and take the joke Modi cracked on her in the right spirit.

Naxal sympathisers, ultra-left wing activists and Congress beneficiaries among ’eminent’ people seeking inquiry against CJI

A group of ’eminent’ activists and writers has issued a joint statement on Monday seeking an “an independent and credible inquiry” to look into allegations of sexual harassment against Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi.

According leftist propaganda portal, the group of 33 ’eminent’ activists has issued a statement calling upon all the judges of the Supreme Court to set up an “independent and credible inquiry committee” comprising of senior retired judges and eminent members of civil society, headed by a woman, to inquire the complaint made by a former employee of the Supreme Court.

“This is a moment of grave crisis for the judiciary. If the court is unable to credibly deal with this challenge, public confidence in the judiciary will be severely eroded,” the statement reads.

The group has also asked Chief Justice Gogoi to refrain from exercising any administrative powers during the course of the inquiry since many of the witnesses named by the woman are officials of the court registry.

In a shocking development, a female former staffer of the Supreme Court of India had levelled serious allegations against CJI Ranjan Gogoi. The alleged victim has written to 22 judges of the SC, alleging that CJI Gogoi had made sexual advances on her at his residential office on October 10 and 11.

The woman has mentioned that after she had refused to be part of CJI’s sexual advancements, she was moved out of his residential office and then after two months, was dismissed from her job. The woman had further alleged that the harassment did not stop even after her dismissal on December 21, 2018.

The CJI had responded with a startling revelation that this sexual harassment allegation was part of a larger plot and that it was a pressure tactic to ensure he doesn’t hear important cases that were coming up. One of those cases was the contempt hearing against Rahul Gandhi.

Interestingly, the group of 33 eminent writers and activists, includes a large number of controversial ultra left-wing activists, Naxal sympathisers, UPA era beneficiaries and members of Congress ecosystem. The list includes Arundhati Roy, Aruna Roy, Yogendra Yadav, Harsh Mander, Amnesty India Executive Director Aakar Patel and other controversial activists.

Here, we shall look into the background of some of these people part of the ’eminent’ group which has now asked for a probe against the sitting Chief Justice of the country.

Arundhati Roy

Ultra-left activist and controversial ‘fiction’ writer Arundhati Roy, who believes that Rafale is an aircraft carrier, is a known rabble-rouser who often openly instigates anti-India propaganda through her separatist tendencies.

Arundhati Roy had once opined that Maoists who are responsible for the deaths of so many civilians and soldiers are ‘Gandhians with Guns’.

Arundhati Roy had shockingly said that Kashmir was never an integral part of India and claimed that India had become a colonizing power as soon as it won its independence from the British. “Kashmir has never been an integral part of India. It is a historical fact. Even the Indian government has accepted this.”

While speaking at an event at Northwestern Law School in Chicago in 2013, Roy, who often spews venom with her Hinduphobic comments had described the event of Godhra train burning case as, “A train full of pilgrims coming back from the destruction of this Ayodhya mosque which was disputed. The train caught fire; nobody knows who set fire to the train and 57 pilgrims were burnt…”. The demolition of the Babri Masjid and the Godhra massacre happened 10 years apart.

Arundhati Roy, who regularly lies profusely, funds a self-proclaimed ‘fact checking’ website that also lies profusely.

Harsh Mander

Harsh Mander is another UPA era beneficiary, who was the director of the Center for Equity Studies. Mander was earlier appointed a member of Sonia Gandhi’s National Advisory Committee. He has advocated for evangelical conversion in the past and ridiculed laws that prevent conversion. Mander is also a known Ishrat apologist, the female LeT operative who was killed in an encounter along with three others by Crime Branch Officials in Gujarat.

In his article on the political marginalization of Muslims which was shared by current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, Mander had written, “Muslims are today’s castaways, political orphans with no home, for virtually every political party. This despite India being home to a tenth of the world’s Muslims, around 180 million people, making it the largest Muslim country after Indonesia and Pakistan. There has never been a harder time to be a Muslim in India, not since the stormy months that followed India’s Partition.”

Harsh Mander was also part of the team which was hell-bent on implementing the Communal Violence Bill, officially referred to as the Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence (Access to Justice and Reparations) Bill, 2011. The contentious bill would have proved to be one of the most disastrous laws if it were to be passed to be an act as it was anti-majority and presumed that the majority community is always to blame for the communal violence.

Yogendra Yadav

An intellectual, psephologist, politician, activist and what not. These are the ‘characters’ that Yogendra Yadav usually portrays in his public life. However, Yadav is a known left-wing ideologue who is known for opposing and discrediting against the BJP, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Yogendra Yadav was once part of the troika with Prashant Bhushan and Arvind Kejriwal before Arvind Kejriwal kicked him out of the Aam Aadmi Party. Yogendra Yadav is also known for propagating lies about RSS and distorting history pertaining to India’s freedom movement of India.

Aakar Patel

Aakar Patel, an alleged ‘Human rights activist’ associated with Amnesty International India, is known for making bigoted casteist remarks. Aakar Patel, a writer who is famous for making casteist comments and stereotyping people based on their ethnic backgrounds had written an article linking one of the comments of Giriraj Singh to extremism and terrorism by Hindus.

Interestingly, Aakar Patel is also allegedly close to fugitive criminal Vijay Mallya.  Aakar Patel’s wife Tushita Aakar Patel supposedly used to work as Mallya’s political secretary. Amnesty International India under Aakar Patel was also raided by Enforcement Directorate for violation of FDI guidelines under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and FCRA rules.

Shabnam Hashmi:

Shabnam Hashmi is one of the founders of the NGO ANHAD whose FCRA registration was cancelled in 2016 by the NDA government due to “undesirable” activities against the public interest. As per DeshGujarat, ANHAD was majorly a Church funded organization.

Shabnam Hashmi was also part of the group entrusted by Sonia Gandhi’s NAC to draft the contentious Communal Violence Bill. It was alleged that Shabnam Hashmi belonged to an NGO that received foreign funding from abroad, which was also charged with the responsibility of drafting the extremely controversial Communal Violence Bill.

The group is not just limited to these ’eminent’ activists. The groups also involve other left-wing ‘obstructionist’ activists like Medha Patkar, Aruna Roy who have been part of legal activism throughout and acted as a stumbling block to the development initiatives of the country. Aruna Roy, who is also known to be a vocal supporter of ‘Urban Naxals’ was also part of the Sonia Gandhi’s unconstitutional National Advisory Committee.

The other members of the ’eminent’ group are unsurprisingly left leaning and some of them had even supported the accused in the Bhima Koregaon violence. The other members are – Kamla Bhasin, Bezwada Wilson, Kalpana Kannabiran, Syeda Hameed, P Sainath, Kavita Kuruganti, Dipa Sinha, Annie Raja, Anjali Bhardwaj, Nikhil Dey, Prabhat Patnaik, Kamal Jaswal, Amitabh Behar, Paul Divakar, Maj Gen SG Vombatkere, Kavita Srivastava, Arundhati Dhuru, Vipul Mudgal, Amrita Johri, Meera Sanghamitra, Abha Bhaiya, Himshi Singh, Basant Hetamsaria, Suhas Kolhekar, Annie Namala, Uma.

The above group of ’eminent’ people actually mirror the same set of people who often take sides to bully and intimidate individuals who are not ideologically inclined to their views. Recently, similar propaganda was hatched with several actors, writers with questionable integrity came together to urge voters to oust Narendra Modi from power.

Sri Lanka terror attack: ISIS claim responsibility, two wealthy Muslim brothers were among the ISIS suicide bombers

Details of the horrific terrorist attack on Easter eve in Sri Lanka are unfolding gradually. According to the information available, Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the dastardly attack, which claimed the lives of over 321 people and rendered more than 500 injured. The series of blasts was carried out across 8 locations in three different cities including Colombo.

Video footage where bomber is seen setting off the bomb

https://youtu.be/T5rLA7p5Yn4

According to the latest reports, two Muslim brothers carried out two of the suicide bombings in two hotels rocking the island country on Sunday. Investigators have not revealed the names of ‘both bothers,’ however, divulged that they were sons of a wealthy Colombo spice trader. The two hotels targeted by the two brothers were Cinnamon Grand hotel and Shangri-La hotel. Earlier, it was reported that the bomber of Shangri-La was identified as Zahran Hashim. Another suicide bomber was named as Abu Mohammad who targeted the Batticaloa church. They were among other suicide bombers to hit three churches and three luxury hotels. The attack on the fourth hotel failed, leading the police to the now-banned Islamist group.

While Sri Lanka was grieving these attacks, left-liberals in India were busy creating absurd theories justifying economic deprivation and lack of education as pull factors for Muslims to join terrorist organizations. With each detail, their theory began to fall flat as the accused turned out to be rich sons of a trade merchant and not economically or educationally backward as claimed earlier.

Both brothers who were in their late twenties, operated their own “family cell”. Reports suggest that both were key members of the Islamist National Thowheeth Jama’ath (NTJ) group that was immediately banned by the government after the attacks.

The Sri Lankan government has confirmed ‘National Thowheed Jama’ath’ (NTJ) as the local organisation responsible for these deadly terrorist attacks. However, it has also expressed possibilities about the involvement of an international group to execute colossal attacks of this magnitude.

According to New York Times journalist Rukmini Callimachi, who quotes Amaq News Agency, the people who carried out the attack against the foreign nationals and Christians in Sri Lanka on Easter were Islamic State fighters.

Rukmini Callimachi further adds that IS considers both directed attacks and inspired attacks as a part of its war arsenal. The attacks were sophisticated, well-coordinated, and they were carried out at 6 different locations in three cities by 7 suicide bombers. This makes the Sri Lankan intelligence agencies suspect this attack to be a handiwork of an international jihadist organization. She further adds the magnitude of Sri Lankan terrorist attacks was far more deadly as compared to the attack on Paris in 2015 by Syrian ISIS fighters.

She further argues that a plot to carry such an attack required at least 7 suicide bombers and other support staff. Besides, huge intelligence network and meticulous planning were required to execute the attack at multiple locations directing to the support of international terrorist networks.

On Sunday, the terrorist group targeted Easter worshipers and high-end hotels hosting international guests with coordinated explosions. St Anthony’s Church in Colombo, St Sebastian’s Church in the western coastal town of Negombo and a church in the eastern town of Batticaloa were targeted during Easter mass.

Further, three more explosions hit Shangri-La, the Cinnamon Grand, and Kingsbury, all five-star hotels. Scores of foreigners and locals injured in these blasts were admitted to Colombo General Hospital.

As per a report by news agency AFP, Sri Lanka’s Deputy Defence Minister has revealed that these serial blasts were carried out in ‘retaliation’ to the Christchurch attack in New Zealand.

Congress Sevadal makes sexist comment against Smriti Irani with a fake image, deletes tweet after getting called out

The official Twitter handle of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Sevadal launched a sexist attack against union minister Smriti Irani by posting a fake screenshot of a TV news report. The verified Twitter account posted an image which looks like a screengrab from a Hindi News Channel, and it reports that Smriti Irani has said she will commit suicide if prime minister Narendra Modi loses. Later the tweet was deleted.

With the image, the Uttarakhand Congress Sevadal added ‘इतनी मोहब्बत, इस मोहब्बत का क्या नाम दूं’ (so much love, how should I name this love). On just casual inspection of the screenshot it becomes clear that it was digitally morphed, and the text was added to a screenshot from an ABP news clip to create the image. Moreover, there is not any report about Smriti Irani making such a comment in any new media. There is also a spelling error in the fake image, as the word लूंगी has been spelt as लुंगी.

Therefore, it is clear that no TV news channel telecast any such news, and this fake image created to attack the union minister with a sexist comment, who is giving a tough fight to Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. It seems a screengrab taken from ABP News when they had covered a press conference addressed by Smriti Irani following OpIndia expose on Rahul Gandhi’s dubious land deals. Although no news channel logo is visible on the image, from the graphics it is clear that it is based on a screenshot from ABP News clip.

This is not the first time Smriti Irani has been subjected to such sexist attack, she has faced such attacks regularly over the last few years. Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has been at the forefront at it, who has repeated the offence several times. Several leaders of Congress or their allies have made crass and sexist comments to attack Irani in the past.

Congress spokesperson Dr Ajoy Kumar shares old article to spread EVM hack theory

0

Dr Ajoy Kumar, National spokesperson of Indian National Congress (INC) and president of Jharkhand Congress was caught spreading panic on Twitter by sharing an old Times of India article about EVM malfunction. The article dated April 3, 2014 was intentionally shared to maliciously suggest that BJP has tampered the EVMs in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

His tweet is aimed at misleading the voters into believing the falsehood of “every vote being polled goes to BJP” theory. Congress and opposition parties have been constantly accusing the BJP with manipulating the EVMs to their favour.

Kumar, who was confronted by a user named Harshal for his malignant tweet has, however, preferred to maintain his stand. In response to the user, he has, in fact, justified his erroneous claim.

Not too long ago, prominent Congress leader Kapil Sibal was spotted at a hackathon event in London. The event witnessed a series of outlandish claims by an alleged self-proclaimed ‘EVM expert,’ Syed Suja. The alleged hacker had stunned the nation by claiming that 2014 elections along with UP and Gujarat state elections were rigged. He went on to claim that favourable results were achieved by hacking the EVMs. All these elections were won by BJP. However, he had given a clean chit to MP, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan elections because BJP had failed to earn the numbers in these states and Congress had managed a comeback.

However, the Election Commission (EC) had rubbished the hacking claims. EC has maintained that the EVMs are hack-proof.

A Delhi court has issued non-bailable warrants against Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, deputy CM Manish Sisodia and former AAP leader Yogendra Yadav, as they failed to appear in a defamation case. Rouse Avenue court in Delhi has issued the non-bailable warrant against the three in a defamation suit filed by lawyer Surender Sharma.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal issued the warrants against Aam Aadmi Party leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, and Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav, after noting that nobody was present from their side during the hearing on the complaint filed by advocate Surender Kumar Sharma. The case was posted for Wednesday by the court.

The case was filed by Surender Sharma in 2013, alleging that the AAP leaders had approved his name as a party candidate but later defamed him and also denied him the ticket for election. He had claimed that articles published in leading newspapers carried “defamatory, unlawful and derogatory words used by the accused persons”, which have lowered his reputation in the Bar and the society. The case was stayed along with several other defamation cases filed at that time as the Supreme Court was hearing a plea and others questioning the constitutional validity of criminal defamation suits. The plea against the validity of criminal defamation filed by Arvind Kejriwal, Subramanian Swamy and Rahul Gandhi was dismissed by the Supreme Court in May 2016, after which the proceedings in stayed defamation cases were re-started.

The AAP leaders had filed a petition in the Delhi High court to stay the case, but the High Court had refused to do so in March 2017, saying let the proceedings in trial court go on. After that, the case filed by Sharma was put on trial in August 2017 by the lower court.
