Uttar Pradesh: Khalil poses as Anil, rapes, tortures a Hindu woman, forces her to convert to Islam; arrested

A dreadful case of love jihad has come to the fore from the Hamirpur region of Uttar Pradesh. The state police arrested one Muslim individual identified as Khalil on 9th June after he cheated and raped a Hindu girl using a fake identity. He introduced himself to the girl as a Hindu named Anil and also forced her to convert her religion to Islam.

As per the reports, the accused has been booked and arrested by the police. The incident is said to have come to the fore in the last week after the victim woman filed a complaint against the accused person. The victim said that the accused met her two years ago and made her believe that he was in love with her. He then also promised her marriage and kept illegal sexual relations with the girl.

The accused posed himself as Anil Kumar and raped the girl, abused her, and also forced her to abort her child. The victim who was forced to stay with the accused, somehow managed to escape from his captivity and reached her home. Later, she came to know that the accused was actually a Muslim and that he was already married.

The victim girl then filed a police complaint revealing all the brutality that she had to face when she was forced to stay with him. She said that the accused forced her to establish sexual relations with him. Later he also forced her to abort her child and refused to marry unless she agreed to convert her religion to Islam.

Police complaint in the case has been filed under sections 376 (2) (n), 342, 313, 323, 506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, and section 3/5 (1) Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. The accused has been arrested. Further investigations are underway.

PM Modi responds to Trudeau’s sanctimonious congratulatory message after days, reminds Canadian PM of ‘mutual respect’

On Monday, 10th June, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, responded to Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau’s congratulatory message four days after it was initially sent. The timeline of the response by the Indian Prime Minister underscored the ongoing political tensions between India and Canada as PM Justin Trudeau is the only world leader who got a response after a four-day gap. PM Modi responded to other world leaders within a day, even Pakistani PM got a reponse within five hours.

PM Trudeau, in his message on 6th June, congratulated PM Modi on his electoral victory and mentioned Canada’s readiness to work with India. He highlighted themes including human rights, diversity and the “rule of law”. Trudeau’s statement read, “Congratulations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his electoral victory. Canada stands ready to work with his government to advance the relationship between our nations’ peoples—anchored to human rights, diversity, and the rule of law.”

Responding to his post, PM Modi thanked Trudeau but stressed the importance of “mutual understanding and respect for each other’s concerns.”

PM Modi said, “Thank you @CanadianPM for the congratulatory message. India looks forward to working with Canada based on mutual understanding and respect for each other’s concerns.”

The exchange between the two leaders came amidst the backdrop of strained relations between the two countries. Canada is well known for meddling in India’s affairs. Before October 2023, there were a disproportionately large number of Canadian diplomats who were living in India raising questions over their intentions. Notably, from time to time, Canada tried to interfere in internal matters of India. For example, during farmer protests, not only Justin Trudeau, but other Canadian leaders, some of them pro-Khalistanis, tried to lecture India on how to handle protesters.

Furthermore, Canada has accused India of killing Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian soil. Nijjar had fled India in the 1990s on a false identity. He gained Canadian citizenship a few years back. Notably, reports suggest that Nijjar died as a result of a gang war. However, Justin Trudeau in September accused Indian agents of being behind his murder. Following the allegations, a top Indian diplomat was removed by the Canadian government leading to a serious political scuffle between the two countries.

In retaliation, India not only removed a top Canadian diplomat but also gave an ultimatum to several Canadian diplomats to leave India in October. India has raised the problem of gangsters, criminals and terrorists wanted in India taking shelter in Canada but the Canadian authorities have failed to act on it. The tension between India and Canada has affected Canada much more compared to India as the number of students taking admission in Canada has significantly dropped. Furthermore, India was one of the largest importers of Canadian agriculture products which has faced problems since the allegations against India were raised.

12 baj gaye hain, don’t give an over to a Sikh at 12 o’clock: Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal insults Sikhs while talking during India-Pakistan World Cup match

On Sunday, June 9, India and Pakistan clashed once again in a World Cup contest. As is the usual norm, India defeated Pakistan, this time by 6 runs, thanks to brilliant bowling by Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh keeping his cool at the end. While most of the reactions from Pakistan after the defeat focused on their own team’s pathetic performance, former Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal chose this moment to mock Sikhs instead.

On a show on ARY News, where Kamran Akmal was a guest, he took a jibe at Arshdeep Singh and said even though Arshdeep’s rhythm isn’t looking good but ’12 baj gaye hain’, another co-panelist joined in and said no Sikh should be allowed to bowl at 12 o’clock.

Notably, this ’12 baj gaye hain’ is an insult directed towards Sikh community in the illiterate part of the world. The implication of the insult is that Sikhs don’t behave normally when the clock strikes 12. It is a sort of discrimination against a religion, it is offensive to them, and mostly, it is downright hateful most of the time.

Arshdeep Singh, in his last over yesterday, gave away only 11 runs and picked the wicket of Imad Wasim, sealing victory for India. Maybe Kamran Akmal saw it coming so started badmouthing Arshdeep before he bowled that last over.

Notably, Kamran Akmal is suspected to have fixed several cricket matches during his career. He used to drop simple catches for fun, much to the frustration of his own team’s bowlers. His drops of Ross Taylor in 2011 Cricket World Cup got us one of the most exhilarating knocks in ODI World Cup history as Taylor capitalised on all the chances. And who can forget the Sydney Test of 2010 where Kamran Akmal missed more chances than the number of times Pakistan Army has engineered a coup in the country.

This mocking of Sikhs by Kamran Akmal and his fellow panelists once again highlights how minorities are seen and treated in Pakistan.

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya sues alleged RSS member Santanu Sinha for making derogatory claims of sexual harassment

On 8th June, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya sent a legal notice to one Santanu Sinha from West Bengal for making allegations of sexual misconduct against him. The notice, however, appeared on social media only after Congress leader and IT Cell chief Supriya Shrinate talked about the allegations against Malviya in a press conference.

As per the legal notice, the post against Malviya was published on 7th June 2024 on Facebook. The notice was sent by Supreme Court advocate Abhijeet on behalf of Malviya asking Santanu to take down the post and tender unconditional apology. The notice pointed out that the post on Facebook by Santanu made “false and defamatory” allegations against Malviya with an “intention to harm his reputation.”

The notice read, “That the nature of allegations is extremely offensive in as much as they falsely allege sexual misconduct purportedly committed by my client. The same is fatally injurious to the dignity and reputation of my client who, by his professional profile, is a public figure. Such malevolently malicious statements have been deliberately made to tarnish his reputation.”

Santanu was asked to remove the post within three days. However, before the notice period could end, Srinate raised the issue in a press conference. Quoting Malviya, news agency ANI wrote, “Since the Congress and earlier TMC in West Bengal held a press conference on the slanderous post. The three-day notice ends tomorrow, 11th June. Appropriate action will follow.”

Supriya Srinate levels sexual harrasment allegations against Malviya

In a press conference on 10th June, Congress’s IT Cell chief Supriya Srinate levelled sexual harrasment allegations against BJP’s Amit Malviya based on social media post by RSS’s Santanu Sinha on Facebook. In his statement, Srinate said, “An RSS member Shantanu Sinha, related to BJP leader Rahul Sinha has said that the BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya is indulged in nefarious activities. He is indulged in the sexual exploitation of women. Not just in 5-star hotels but in BJP offices in West Bengal. The only thing that we seek from the BJP is, justice for women… The reality is less than 24 hours after PM Modi was sworn in, serious charges of sexual exploitation have been levelled against a very prominent office bearer of the BJP, the head of its IT cell…Today we seek the immediate removal of Amit Malviya from his position. It’s an extremely influential position. It’s a position of power and there can be no independent inquiry. There can be no independent probe. There cannot be justice unless and until he doesn’t get removed from his position…”

Santanu Sinha’s allegations against Amit Malviya

Despite the legal notice, Santanu Sinha has not removed the post from Facebook. In the post in Bengali, Santanu accused Amit Malviya and other senior leadership of BJP of accepting sexual favours from leaders in West Bengal and in exchange providing them positions in the party. He accused West Bengal BJP leaders of sending women to Malviya and other senior leaders of BJP women in 5-star hotels to secure president’s posts. He wrote, “Is Amit Malviya still waiting in a five-star hotel in Kolkata for the Bengal leadership to provide beautiful women? Has the competition among the Bengal leadership stopped over who can provide the most beautiful women to secure the president’s post? Please, compete in standing by your workers and supporters. Not in providing beautiful women to Amit Malviya or the observers sent from Delhi to secure the president or secretary posts. They, after all, took risks in their lives based on your assurances and your words. Bengal leadership, please don’t sit idle like a mere figurehead.” (Translation from Bengali to English done using ChatGPT).

It is notable here that earlier this year, grave allegations of sexual exploitation emerged against TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan and his aides in Sandeshkhali. Sheikh Shahjahan and his goon were accused of exploiting women in the area for years.

‘Kulwinder Kaur was angry, Kangana should not have spoken like that’: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann tries to justify assault on MP by CISF staffer

On Monday (10th June), Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann justified assault on actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut saying that the CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur who allegedly slapped Kangana was “angry” over the former’s comments on the farmers’ protest.

“That was anger. She (Kangana Ranaut) had said things earlier and there was anger for it in the heart of that woman (CISF constable). This should not have happened. But in reply to it, despite being a public figure – a film star and an elected MP – saying that the entire Punjab is a terrorist is wrong… On every issue, you say that they are terrorists and separatists. If farmers hold protests, they are called terrorists…it is wrong,” CM Bhagwant Mann said adding that Punjab feeds the nation and Punjabis have made sacrifices for the country.

Before the Punjab CM, Kulwinder Kaur’s mother and brother also defended the suspended CISF official saying that whatever she did was absolutely justified and that Kangana Ranaut must have ‘instigated’ Kaur to slap the BJP MP. Even the SGPC has taken a similar stand, blaming Kangana for the assault while trying to excuse Kulwinder Kaur’s behaviour on ‘anger’.

As reported earlier, The incident unfolded on Thursday (6th June) when the actor-turned-MP-elect Kangana Ranaut was heading for New Delhi to attend a meeting of the newly elected NDA Members of Parliament. When she was at Chandigarh Airport, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable Kulwinder Kaur launched an attack and assaulted her.

Later, an irate Kulwinder was seen speaking with people in a video in circulation on social media. In the video, the constable said, “Kangana made a statement saying farmers were protesting in Delhi for Rs 100 to Rs 200. At the time, my mother was one of the protesters.”

Subsequently, the constable was detained and taken to the CISF Commandant Office for interrogation. Kulwinder was suspended and the CISF filed a formal complaint against her and directed a court of inquiry into the matter.

Leopard, dog, alien or something else: Mystery animal strolling in Rashtrapati Bhavan during PM Modi’s swearing-in ceremony leaves netizens puzzled

On Sunday, June 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath as India’s PM for the third time. PM Modi led NDA alliance won the majority in recently concluded Lok Sabha alliance and defeated the Congress led I.N.D.I. alliance.

People watching the oath ceremony’s proceedings have noticed an interesting guest, and it was not one of the 8,000 guests officially invited to the event. The incident took place when Madhya Pradesh MP Durgadas Uikey, who is also known as DD Uikey, was taking oath as one of the union ministers. At that time, people noticed an animal in the background. Now speculations are on as to what the animal could be.

While the visuals of the animal in the background during the oath ceremony has left netizens puzzled, there is no clarity as yet about which animal it was. While most people are guessing it was a leopard, but a leopard walking around openly in Rashtrapati Bhavan seems a bit far fetched.

On Sunday, President Murmu administered the oath of office and secrecy to a 72-member Council of Ministers, including 30 cabinet ministers, 36 Ministers of State (MoS) and five MoS with independent charge.

Andhra Pradesh: 52-year-old YSRCP leader commits suicide after losing Rs 30 crores he bet on Jagan Mohan Reddy’s win

In a shocking incident reported from the Turpudigavalli village in the Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh, a 52-year-old individual identified as Jaggavarapu Venugopalareddy committed suicide after he lost around Rs 30 crore he bet on Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, YSRCP’s anticipated victory in Nuziveedu Mandal constituency.

As per the reports, Venugopalareddy was associated with the YSRCP party and had placed significant bets across various villages anticipating his party’s success. However, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party YSRCP was wiped out by TDP-Jana Sena this assembly election. So Venugopalareddy was under immense pressure for money.

On the 4th of June, seeing the vote count turn against YSRCP, Venugopalareddy disappeared from the village, having risked a huge sum taken from several people anticipating his party’s win. However, on 7th June Venugopalareddy’s house was invaded by the lenders and all his assets including air conditioners, sofas, and beds were taken away.

The other day he returned to the village learning about the vandalism by lenders at his residence. Being pressurised from several people for money, he consumed pesticide. The police took cognizance of the incident after Venugopalareddy’s wife filed a formal complaint. SI Prasada Reddy said they have not yet reached any conclusion regarding the death.

The YSRCP lost the Nuziveedu Mandal constituency seat to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The results of the constituency were counted on 4th June. While it is said that Venugopalareddy suffered loss of Rs 30 crores, some media reports cited the amount to be Rs 10 crores.

The episode is believed to be a part of a larger trend of financial difficulties among YSRCP followers. Many people embarked on enormous debt and wagered on the election outcome, believing that their leader, Jagan Mohan Reddy, would win. However, following the party’s surprise defeat, these supporters are now facing significant financial losses.

Manipur: Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s advance security convoy attacked by militants in Kuki dominated area, one injured

On the morning of Monday, June 10, the convoy of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh was attacked as militants ambushed the vehicles in Kangpokpi district. This resulted in the injury to one security person. The convoy was an advance security convoy ahead of CM Biren Singh’s visit.

The security convoy was traveling from Imphal to Jiribam district when it was attacked on National Highway-37 at around 10:30 am. The site of the attack, T. Laijang village, about 26 km away from state capital Imphal, comes under the Kuki-Zomi dominated Kangpokpi district.

Chief Minister Biren Singh was planning to visit Jiribam, which has been tense ever since a man was beheaded by unknown attackers on June 6. This incident led to the burning of about 70 houses, including some government offices, and forced hundreds of people to flee the area. CM Biren Singh intended to visit the region on Tuesday, June 11, however, now the status of that visit is unclear.

Notably, on June 6, the dead body of a Meitei man, Soibam Saratkumar Singh, was found with injury marks. Following that, several houses in the area were set on fire. Two police outposts and a forest beat office were also set on fire.

‘Pretended to be dead’, ‘kept firing after bus fell in gorge to make sure nobody was alive’: Reasi terror attack eyewitnesses recount ordeal

On the 9th of June, 10 Hindu pilgrims were killed and 33 were severely injured in a terrorist attack on a bus en route from Shiv Khori in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Survivors of the terror attack on the bus transporting pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district have described the harrowing account of the attack.

The survivors said that the terrorists continued to fire at the bus even after it fell into a gorge to ensure everyone died. The victims recalled that the passengers remained silent to pretend they all had died. Notably,  the bus driver was hit by a bullet due to which he lost control and the bus fell into a gorge.

“As we returned after darshan from the Shiv Khori Temple, after around half an hour, there was firing on the bus and the windows were broken. Everyone on the bus started asking to get down, so we could not see what happened. After a few seconds, our bus fell into the gorge. Even then the terrorists continued firing for some time…” an eyewitness said.

Another survivor Santosh Kumar Verma, a UP resident narrated the terrifying sequence of events of the attack and said, “We were returning after having darshan at Shiv Khori shrine…one terrorist came in the middle of the road and opened fire on the bus. The terrorist fired bullets at the bus driver first and continued firing on the bus…as the bus fell in the gorge, the terrorists continued firing for some time.”

“As people started weeping and screaming, we asked the passengers to stay silent as there could be more firing. As I was sitting in front, I saw only one terrorist… amidst heavy firing, I could not see where the bullets were coming from. There were around 50 people on the bus. The terrorists fired 5-6 bullets and they continued firing intermittently for about an hour. For around half an hour no one came to our rescue. Later, some locals and the police saved us,” he said.

Speaking to IndiaToday, another eyewitness said, “They were 6 to 7 terrorists, their faces were covered with masks. Initially, they fired on the bus by covering it from all sides of the road. When the bus fell, they came towards it and kept firing to ensure everyone was killed. We maintained silence to make the terrorists believe that we were dead. The incident happened 30 minutes after we took the bus for Vaishno Devi from Shiv Khori (Reasi) at 6 pm. We were afraid and just wanted to get back to our homes. There were kids and women also on the bus and all got injured. Police and locals arrived to rescue us after 10 to 15 mins of this attack…” he said.

Pakistan-backed Islamic terrorist group claim responsibility for the Reasi terror attack

The Pakistan-backed Islamic terrorist outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) has claimed responsibility for the terror attack on Hindu pilgrims. In a message, the TRF warned of more such attacks against “tourists and non-locals” and dubbed the Reasi attack simply the “beginning of a renewed start”.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army launched a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi on Monday morning. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has also arrived in Reasi and drones are also being used in search operations in dense forest areas in and around the incident site.

“The militants fired upon the bus yesterday… 9 people are reportedly dead and 33 were injured and are being treated in different hospitals. As per eyewitnesses, 2 (terrorists) were there. Combing operation is underway in the area. 5 teams have been formed to search in the area,” SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma said.

As reported earlier, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha condemned the attack and assured action against those behind it. “I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on a bus in Reasi. My condolences to the family members of the martyred civilians. Our security forces and JKP have launched a joint operation to hunt down the terrorists,” the LG said in a post on X.

“PM Narendra Modi Ji took stock of the situation and has asked me to constantly monitor the situation. All those behind this heinous act will be punished soon. PM has also directed that all the injured are provided the best possible medical care & assistance,” the J-K LG added.
