"When civic staff went to pull down illegal shops of one Rafiq Khan on directives of village panchayat officials, a large crowd comprising local residents and other individuals demanded that his house, too, be razed and later pelted stones at policemen and members of the demolition squad," the police said.

The court examined all the pieces of evidence that exposed the Imam of having sexually abused a minor child. The accused also had threatened the victim of death.

Irfan Khan tempted the minor with the promise of getting her an ice cream before raping and killing her.

Subsequently, she was taken to Mangaldoi Civil Hospital for emergency medical care. Meanwhile, accused Muslim youth Sajel Ali was also nabbed by the police with the help of Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists.

The police recovered a PAN card, ATM card, Dependent ID card, 2 white metal rings, 3 visiting cards, 5 mobile phones and a sum of ₹849 from Nazama.

During the raid nearly 160 kg of beef was recovered. In addition, the police also seized cow skin and other body parts.

A video of the incident on Muharram has gone viral online. After this, the police said they are analysing the video and action will be taken accordingly. The investigation of the matter was handed over to Kalyanpur ACP Abhishek Kumar Pandey and now the police have registered a case against 40 people.

The incident is said to have happened on Sunday when the accused persons reached the temple and sabotaged the idols of the Gods and Goddesses.

DCP Kaushik added that there were trust issues, as three of them had killed Mukesh in Baghpat in 2011 because they believed he had informed the police about them.

The stated administration conducted a survey on 21st July to learn that around 11 accused persons belonging to the Muslim community had illegally expanded their properties. The same will be demolished.
