Who is Ajinkya Shinde: AAP youth leader from Maharashtra to lead the CJP’s unauthorised protest in Delhi

After the detention of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke earlier in the day (October 10, 2026), AAP youth leader from Maharashtra, Ajinkya Shinde, will be leading the party’s unauthorised agitation. Hours after his detention by the Delhi Police at IGI Airport in Delhi, along with CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, a video of Abhijeet Dipke was posted from his party’s handle.

In the video, which was apparently recorded by Dipke earlier in anticipation of his detention, he handed over the responsibility to lead CJP’s illegal protest to Ajinkya Shinde. “If you are watching this video, it means that I, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka have been arrested. In our absence, Ajinkya will lead the CJP movement. All those who are watching this video, please follow Ajinkya Shinde. He will be carrying forward the Cockroach Janta Party after Ashutosh, me, and Saurav,” Dipke said in the video.

Ajinkya Shinde and his AAP connection

35-year-old Ajinkya Shinde is a resident of Latur in Maharashtra. He holds a B.Tech from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU) in Lonere, Raigad. Prior to his appointment as the CJP’s National Organisation In-Charge on 6th August, Shinde had been an active functionary of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Shinde quit his regular job to become a full-time member of the Aam Aadmi Party and has served as the former AAP Maharashtra Youth Wing State President and state committee member. He also served as the AAP Goa Sah Prabhari before officially taking on a CJP organisational role. He never publicly renounced his AAP membership, which suggests that he continues to be associated with the party.

Abhijeet Dipke himself admitted that Shinde played a key role in organising and managing the CJP’s anti-government protest in June. He also organised CJP’s protest in Mumbai last month and spearheaded the CJP’s “School Thik Karo” controversial campaign across the country.

Shinde echoing Kejriwal’s words

Earlier today, a video message of Ajinkya Shinde was posted from the CJP’s official X handle, in which Shinde was echoing the words of AAP national convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. In the video, Shinde claimed that the security arrangements made by the Delhi Police ahead of the unauthorised protests were an indication that the CJP and its protestors had already won half the battle against the purported “Modi-Shah dictatorship.”

Shinde further urged protestors to organise sit-in protests wherever they are and “transform the entire country into a Jantar Mantar.”

Similar words were uttered by Arvind Kejriwal during a public appeal made ahead of the protest, in which he urged people from across the country to march towards Delhi. Kejriwal added that in case people are stopped by police from marching forward, they should organise sit-in protests at their respective locations and convert the entire country into a protest site like Jantar Mantar.

Furthermore, several CJP top leaders, including Abhijeet Dipke and Ashutosh Ranka, have had strong links with the AAP. Besides, the uncanny similarity between Shinde’s and Kejriwal’s public appeals amid police resistance to protests leaves little doubt that the current attempts to stir an agitation in the name of demanding the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar look like a trick from the AAP’s playbook of protests and anarchic tactics.
